1. Im usually a grunt. Can i compete as a light assault against heavy assault?
2 . Does light assault get any cool/usefull certs compared to heavy's abilities to kill tanks etc?
3. Does the Engineer get any cool gadgets? I didnt like the fact that Engineer only got a gun with a shield to hide behind instead of the usual auto canons.
4. How do i capture bases, is it possible to do solo at all?
5. Whats the least played faction in Beta?
6. Lets say i go Sniper, Light Assault and some kind of Pilot at the same time, will i ever max all three, or should i concentrate at going one build to max?
Edit: If anybody could supply usefull info links that would be great. |

Originally posted by Grimmx 1) Yes, light assault are very versatile, you can use the jetpack to get up high on buildings etc, making LA a bugger for those on the ground, you can also use C4 to destroy vehicles or players.
2) Having been mainly HA in beta, the only ability i'm aware of for the LA is the fast run ability. LA are however getting some more additions by the sounds of it, Higby(dev) has stated he wants to see the LA with more solo abilities.
3) Engi's will be getting anti-vehicle and anti-air abilities post launch, currently they have the mana turret as you said and anti-vehicle mines.
4) Bases depend on surrounding influence and are heavily favoured for groups to take rather than solo players. There were issues in beta where solo players would just sneak behind and cap bases, which made others break from frontline fighting to deal with those back capping. You can take points solo(You need to hold points to capture bases), but whether you can actually cap the base i dont know now, but you would soon find a few rolling in to hunt you down before you could capture anyway, as bases under threat flash on the map.
5)All factions were pretty even on EU server, i don't know about the US servers.
6) I'd focus on one playstyle if you're not prepared to sub or buy station cash.

Overall... I think the factions tend to more or less even out at 33% each - with minor variances by server/region - small xp bonuses are given to minority factions. That isn't to say you won't find larger differences at certain times of the day or on individual continents.
