So much i loved about SWG, hard to think of anything else being worthy unless they did SWG2 and fix up the bugs add better graphics, undo the NGE, and keep the same mechanics for crafting/housing/and so much more. SWG may have been indepth, but there was so much to do it was a chore or a job, it was casual and you could take all day to do anything. I liked the choice of pvp with their 3 standings ( no fight, faction npc fighting, or full on pvp) where you had the choice not forced on you.

No one. Not now. There is currently no developer around that would do it justice. Maybe a team of developers from different studios, but they would need to develop at least one game to really get together as a team, and as so many people work on games today, i don't think any single person is ultimately responsible for making it succeed/fail, so yeah. Else, take any obscure start up, they can't fail more badly then the big studios. I'll wait to the day's end when the moon is high |

Design wise combat would happen on several world through "war fronts" in essence randomly generated maps that would change once a week as war "moved" across the planet.
But as i said first. it is for the best if no one tries this again. This have been a good conversation |

LA said all future game development would be done in house. This was of course just prior to Papa Disney taking over so that might have gone out the window. |

Originally posted by apocoluster i have to agree with this. the only reason both of them bombed so badly is because Lucas Arts wouldnt keep thier fingers out of it. If Bioware had gotten to do whatever it wanted, it would have been a much greater success. (as well as SWG)

Originally posted by apocoluster I'm sorry, but this is a load. You make it sound like it was all someone else's fault that Bioware made a crappy MMO. Listen even with Lucas' hand in there to guide the story, Lucas did not design the game play aspects. You guys are very much mistaken on how much of a hand Lucas and his company have in this. Bioware must own the fact that they made a lackluster themepark MMO, in a field full of decent themeparks. Of all the games to come out in the last couple years, this was by far the worst AAA offering. |

To be honest, I don't want to see anymore MMO SW games, it'll just end up the with the same fate as SWG and SWTOR, I wouldn't mind see more Jedi Knight type games again so give it to Raven. |

Valve, but it would never happen. They know a dead horse when they see it. |

I'd probably start up my own company. Seeing as the IP has hit rock bottom in the MMO world. Even a pen & paper MMO would beat SW:TOR. Thinking of Star Wars and MMO makes me think like the politician that lost and said on TV, "Of course the new government is gonna be better, given what was there before, it would be hard to even look bad." And he was right because every dubious mesure or procedure by the government is met with "at least its not as bad as the liberals". So the next MMORPG with the Star Wars name on the box will be great! But if I had to chose a developper, Valve would be my first try. |

I don't know if you guys are keeping up with all the Star Wars industry talk, but Disney is planning to go nuts with Star Wars, and even talking about doing multiple movies per year that focus on characters, similar to all the super hero movies.
