*YOU CAN NOT PLAY THE CURRENT VERSION OF FFXIV* All the servers are off line until 2.0 so there is no way to play FFXIV as it was ALSO there is a NDA for this game , But there was a leaked Video that was posted on MMORPG.com . In that video You can gain exp also from questing , or killing mobs . And i do believe from letters from the producer 3 Crafting still gains XP on physical level so gathering would also ( not 100% on that ) IF YOU OWN A COPY OF V1, YOU WILL NOT NEED TO BUY A NEW COPY OF V2 (unless you want to) IF YOUR A PS3 PLAYER YOU WLL HAVE TO BUY A COPY FOR THE PS3. NOTES As for the info i know , The game is P2P and will not be F2P or B2P or B2W . A monthly fee of anywhere between 12.95 and 14.95 per month. USD legacy members 9.95. New members of both the PS3 and PC who go out and buy a new ARR game copy will get a one month free play before the Sub. fee kicks in . As is customary FFXI did this and V1 also WAS going to do this. SO you will get a chance to try the game out before decide to support SE with 15$ a month . Your ONE chr . can play ALL classes there is no need to make different Chrs ( unless you really want to ) From the letter from producer 4 the time line has been moved to a release between Latet March , April or early May. I am a new user; and I signed up specifically to follow FFXIV here because I avoided it like the plague when I originally saw the game demos etc. People told me i was stupid to "miss" this game, that it was the best game they ever played, that it was top tier.. but I can use my own sensory perceptions to see and come to concrete conclusions enough to know that this was a steaming pile of fucking shit straight from hell. Having seen the company acknowledged that and having played FFXI up to Abyssea and liking it for the most part up to that point, it stirred a little interest in me. Ultimately I want to follow it, and I appreciate you taking the time out and consolidating all that info. Cheers :D

in letter 3 I like how you start with TP and can WS right off the bat. Gathering changes in you can find want your after now per node.In the open session like in letter 4 the summoner and arcainest info. I like how Yoshi knows V1 was garbage and wants V2 to be the best MMO experience that you can have and won't release it until he is satisfied. That has regained my trust with SE and shows me they want to give us Final Fantasy the best possible.

I haven't played since right after release but I'm looking to make the transition from xi to xiv whenever I can get my hands on a new pc. Hopefully soon. Even though all those links were great, is there anything for ffxiv like ffxiclopedia, bluegartr or the forums on ffxiah? Or do you have pretty much have to use the official forums? In my gaming career I've always tended to stay away from official forums and prefer some of the better managed fan sites. Yet I've been unable to find anything that strikes me as a quality frequently used fansite so I was wondering if the playerbase was aware of something I'm unable to find.

I hope they bring back the hardcore status of FFXI into this game. Im tired of playing casual MMOs these days that people just reach max everything so easily in so less time. it doesnt feel.... epic anymore. It doesnt feel good to be max because someones casual grandma is just like your chracter....

crysta was in V1 you could "pre pay" months , credit or debit cards will work. I heard a rumor that SE will also have time cards but I'm not 100% on that one.

Also if you want a few unexpected , expected surprises. Play FFIII the crystal tower is in that FF and Yoshi said bits of this bits of that without giving it away will be in the crystal tower in ARR . On the Android market FFIII is 15$ . Also play FFVII Yoshi loves FFVII and in a comming expansion he mentioned the Golden Saucer witch is a HUGE playground in FFVII and a desert prison lol . just saying check them out to get a idea on what to somewhat expect.

I also vote this be sticky. I really hope we get tons of new gameplay footage soon, it needs to be clear there is lots of varied content, and not just leaves to grind on all day. Yoshida still has a lot to prove, I don't doubt is intentions, just his and SE's ability, given how just 2 yrs ago they where obliviously a decade behind everyone else. |
