I've never bought anything from a f2p model game... or freemium, besides a subscription. If I want access to everything, I just get a sub, instead of being nickel and dimed for every little thing.

Has anyone added up the cost for sub level access through cartel coins?

A few hundred dollars (USD) ...

The pricing model is pretty much the same, as it turns out.  Buy small amounts of coin chunks and the price is more .. buy coins in bulk and the price is a little less.

I haven't bought any and probably won't ever.

The rest of the swtor fans seem to be thrilled to buy $100-$200 worth of cartel gamble packs. Now the gtn is already flooded with those trash items and credit value is dropping rapidly. Oh well, I guess it is good for free players. lol

I am one of them LOL. These boxes are way too addicting. The sound of them popping out on Fleet every second or two makes you want them more and more LOL... I need to avoid fleet whatsoever!!!!

Edit: Got a throne, bunch of awesome sniper rifles, rifles, heavy blasters, lightsabers invluding double bladed, assault cannons, armors including trailblazer's and the dancer ones, naket chest armors /grin and plenty of speeders, got Satele and Malgus figures/trainings. Also boxes drop rare crafting components (7)  and boosts. Some drop credits. Also plenty of purple companion gifts. Emotes... and lots of pets LOL.

You know those items were meant you for, as a paying subscriber.  Now you need to either pay more for "content" or you need to spend your hard earned credits to obtain what was rightfully yours.

I have tons of fun. I would not buy stuff if I would not like what it delivers. People spend money on different stuff - alcohol, jewerly, clothes , that is my entertainment spending.

Edit. In EQ2 I was spending tons of money too, mostly on mounts /grin

I today bought the 2,400 coins for $20.00 offer they had and was then shocked that the pricing is a scam. (And I fell for it.)

The prices you see listed for things in the store say they are for "account wide" bennifits, but when you go to buy them you find out the listed price is for "one character only" and you have to pay twice as much for the account wide version.

Basically the game will nickle and dime you to hell and back. I won't be making any further purchases of coins, ever.

I haven't purchased any. I wouldn't get a subscription, and there's not a whole lot I really feel like I need. I would consider activating additional quick slot bars, and possibly getting an armor set, but that's all.

This is  rifle from CC box - it''s sweet.... it's pulsing - color depends what color crystal you place there - this one is yellow. I will add some pics of items I got...
