Zero excitement. Tried to get back into this game a few days ago, i just can't. The game just feels so simple, theres no complexity, theres no depth at all.

You are confusing Infusions with the stat to counter Agony.  Infusions will actually add stats, not just Anti-Agony if you will, to your (Ascended) armor.  It's not the same as Infusion from GW1.  It is not true that infusions are "only usable in the new dungeon." For now it's only true that they're only attainable there.  You can totally snag them there, buff your stats in the process, and hop right into WvWvW.  The only way this wouldn't be true is if "Anti-Agony" takes up a stat slot for one of the other stats and I'm extremely doubtful that will be the case.

This isn't customizing endgame.  It's bad design.  They created Legendaries as end game gear and now have to add another tier and then buff Legendaries in the process.  Mark my words that within 3-6 months they will add another new tier of gear, Super Ascended if you will, and then buff Legendaries again further continuing to make up for their design decision in the first place.  The game was clearly designed around not having a gear treadmill and trying to force one in just makes for a lot of silliness IMO.

Total over-exaggeration and hogwash!  I've read that thread and posted in there many of times.  My first post was a bit of a flip out and slight overreaction on the assumption that WvWvW was left in the dust, but then the blog-post a day or so later explained that this Ascended gear will (eventually) be obtainable via WvWvW.  So, that's it.  Problem solved, but there's no hate or dislike of this patch 100% in that thread.  For every 2 posts I read negative, there's 1 post positive.  So, it's about 66% negative hate and 33% loving it!

 

Also, to assume it's a "gear treadmill" is bollix.  A "gear treadmill" would be what WoW has.  Do you know what that is?  That's running the same dungeon 20x trying to get 1 purple item.  Now, the boss only drops 1 item for 5 people in the party, and that same item in on a loot table with 16 other items that can drop as well.  Oh, and did I mention that some are class specific but many are not?   Ya, so if you're doing their LFG tool with a bunch of PUGs from other servers, ....so, that one person that can use cloth and leather who decides to role NEED on your Priest robes that drops just because, then drops group (this is a term called "ninja looting").

 

 

What's GW2's loot like?  Well, @ the end of every explorable dungeon, all 5 players get 60 tokens and get to loot a chest filled with RNG selected items.   In 3 of those runs, every one of 5 people have enough tokens to get an Exotic gear.  ALL OF THEM!  That's right, this game doesn't hold the carrot out there and keep putting in factors that pulls the string further away, the stick gets chopped and the carrot made reachable!

 

As for the excitement.  More than ever!  I can't wait to fight off giant crabs (ironically just as crab season starts around in my hometown).

Infusion upgrade types must be paired with their like slot, with the exception of the rare and versatile Omni Infusions which can be slotted into any type of Infusion slot.

For now, Infusions slots can only be found in gear of a new rarity type: Ascended."

So while yes you are correct they did not specifically say they will add stats it is pretty clear from the above that they will add Offensive, Defensive, and/or Omni stats.  It remains to be seen exactly what these stats will be.  It could be just +DMG/DEF against monsters with Agony condition, however, that's not been my interpretation of what I've read. 

This pic suggests that the Ascended ring's unused Defensive Infusion slot will add stats.  What those stats will be is the only question left in my mind.

So while yes you are correct they did not specifically say they will add stats it is pretty clear from the above that they will add Offensive, Defensive, and/or Omni stats.  It remains to be seen exactly what these stats will be.  It could be just +DMG/DEF against monsters with Agony condition, however, that's not been my interpretation of what I've read. 

This pic suggests that the Ascended ring's unused Defensive Infusion slot will add stats.  What those stats will be is the only question left in my mind.

Im excited for the patch. Sometimes i just missed that little grind in the game :/ Some people just cant enjoy anything, first there isnt gear grind so the game is dull and lacks depth. Now when they are adding somekind of gear grind the game is total garbage wow clone.

yea im enjoying it a lot, and strangely i cant seem to play any other game...not since GW2 came out. i was huge on DOTA2, havent touched it. got XCOM on my desktop completely untouched, and i might as well uninstall it soon. wasted $60. i wanted to try PS2 but honestly, WvW is so much more fun and i simply wont have time for another game.

Yeah you say as if same group is complaining about both. People who are mostly complaining are those who believed in original design of 'aping the statas and  introduction of new appearance items onl'y. And from looks of official forums a lot of them are against it.

You are confusing Infusions with the stat to counter Agony.  Infusions will actually add stats, not just Anti-Agony if you will, to your (Ascended) armor.  It's not the same as Infusion from GW1.  It is not true that infusions are "only usable in the new dungeon." For now it's only true that they're only attainable there.  You can totally snag them there, buff your stats in the process, and hop right into WvWvW.  The only way this wouldn't be true is if "Anti-Agony" takes up a stat slot for one of the other stats and I'm extremely doubtful that will be the case.

This isn't customizing endgame.  It's bad design.  They created Legendaries as end game gear and now have to add another tier and then buff Legendaries in the process.  Mark my words that within 3-6 months they will add another new tier of gear, Super Ascended if you will, and then buff Legendaries again further continuing to make up for their design decision in the first place.  The game was clearly designed around not having a gear treadmill and trying to force one in just makes for a lot of silliness IMO.

They didn't say infusions will add stats.

On the other hand they said there will Ascended with infusion slots and ascended without infusion slots.

Infusions are a special new type of Upgrade Component that can only be slotted into special Infusion slots on gear.

There are multiple types of Infusions and Infusion slots. In November, we’ll introduce of Fine rarity from new Mystic Forge recipes. Infusion upgrade types must be paired with their like slot, with the exception of the rare and versatile Omni Infusions which can be slotted into any type of Infusion slot.

While initially I want to agree, because they announced this gear would later be obtainable through WvWvW it doesn't make much sense to me that it would solely be relegated to Anti-Agony stats.

Really I would prefer it was just like Infusion or Ascension worked in GW1.  It was basically a PvE quest that stopped certain groups of mobs from being able to 1-shot you and outside of that had no impact on gameplay.  It was a cool quest line/story idea and if implemented that way in GW2 would actually nullify every complaint thus far.

I think it's humorous actually it's like raging over milk that's sitting on a table that hasn't actually spilt. People are getting mad at assumptions only. Ragers  it's going to be funny if you assume to much.
