It would have to be some kind of groundbreaking VR game for me to even consider $30 a month. $20 maybe would be more realistic...again, it would have to seriously be something thats miles beyond what current games offer, and I can't really fathom anything that would get me that excited. Otherwise just my favorite idea of what an MMO should/could be, no. I wouldn't pay more than $15. |

At first thought, yes. But then a dream mmo... hmmm that would force me out of my social life, make me call in sick to work every other day, giving me bad food habits, getting bad hygiene etc etc. So that means I would sell my whole life for 30 bucks. Doesn't sound so appealing when you think about it. :D "If I had a d*ck, I'd go get laid. But we can do that next best thing... Let's kill people." |

Hey Devs, just so you know. The more you give us to play with, the more we play. |

Yes. If some could make my dream MMO, I'd happly pay $30 a month. Otherwise, I'd pay $15 a month for someone elses dream MMO. |

Why do people keep looking for ways to spend more money for doing the same thing? I'd almost suspect publisher sock puppets to post these things trying to convince people to spend more.

Originally posted by xAPOCx Well that is what my dream mmo would be to me. I'm a little chagrined to admit that I think that I think $15 a month for an mmo is a lot for one game. If you pay $20 / month for a sub it would be roughly the equivalent of paying $15 pre month with a $50 xpac annually. I'm kind of a penny pincher. |

Well in the past I had 3 accounts of SWG so I was spending about $45 a month so yes I could spend $30 for a great game.

It would have to absolutely mindblowing. Still... it woul have to somehow justify the high fee... P&P style GMs perhaps?

I could not and would not. I wouldn't on a bus and not for a guy named Gus. I wouldn't do this here, there or anywhere.

Never. I personally think paying a subscription to play only one game is not a very smart financial move. However, there are many who disagree with me on that.

Nope, wouldn't pay that much. But I'm a cheapskate.
If in 1982 we played with the current mentality, we would have burned down all the pac man games since the red ghost was clearly OP. Instead we just got better at the game. |

Sure. People gladly pay over $100 a month for TV that is total shit.

Back in the day. EQ introduced it's Stormhammer server, which was the same game everyone else was playing but with lots of GMs. They charged around 50 dollars a month for that subscription. And it was a massive hit.
So people will gladly pay for a quality product. The problem these days is finding a quality product. The player base is there waiting, they have money to spend....and yet all the developers do is release their own version of WOW. There seems to be a big disconnect between the players of this genre, and the people who are making the games. |

Considering it costs 100.00 to take a family of 4 to a major new 3d/ Imax movie if you simply get you , yourself , wife and kids drinks and popcorn , 29.99 for something I truly enjoyed that much sounds like a good deal.
