Star Trek fans attending this weekend's convention in San Francisco, California will be the lucky recipients of a special code from Perfect World Entertainment. The code will give new Star Trek Online players a spiffy in-game item and title.

I always find these Vitural item giveaway for RL "meet&greet" a bit.. odd, sure its a lovely thing for those who life around there and can go but thats cant be more then 0.1% of the entire playing community. so you kind of say , hey look at this great item we got for these 100 persons..and the rest of you..the 100.000 other players who lifeon the other side of the world, who dont have money, or whatever reason ...you can go F**** yourself and QQ always fun to see how PR screws themselfs :P PS: someone sent me a picture of the convention.. I got Photoshop skills ;)

MMORPGs are no longer about the mass multi-user anymore *sadly* |

All go to Vulcan for the in-game convention and drop the screenshot on twitter :D Okay, seriously... Wish I could go to a Star Trek convention. None in my country, and it's too much fuzz to take a week(end) off to attend to one in an other country. I would SERIOUSLY want to have been to a Star Trek (or any other convention for that matter) for just once in my life! Demigoth's RPG adventures ~ My blog ASUS M4N72-E |

Along with the beginning of season 7 they are offering a Steam Midweek Madness sale too for $9.99, limited time of course. It states it offers 2 ships, 1 for level 1 for the level 50, Blockade Steamrunner Escort & the Retrofit. A few other starter perks as well. Seems like a good deal for a beginner player, not sure the value if already playing. I think a good game with good storyline missions. Hopefully they're not adding too much of a grind near/at the end game. Damn lockboxes are what turned me off to it despite the fun play.

@Dijon - I saw the deal on Steam already. Very good deal since the items are permanently account bound and I'll grab it. Not sure if I'll play long, but hey, it only $10 and I can use them whenever I want/need

I don't use Steam, but I guess it's not a bad deal, especially if you're on a f2p acc (since then you don't get a free ship when reaching lvl50 like subscribers do). So if you strip anything else from the deal, the Retrofit by it's own worths the 10 bucks, it's a decent Tac ship, and ships on the Store are like 15-20$ (if I remember correctly, I don't know the actual prices)
Edit: sorry, a bit ontopic: Holo Leeta is a nice DOff, I think they gave those codes at a previous con too. Just as Reizla, I also don't see much chance in the future to get myself to a Trek con... but I bet it's awesome :) |

It's a shame that the newest patch just turns the game into an asian grinder. It used to be fun... for a AA game.
