And I was thinking I could go back to SWTOR and not pay a cent. I could buy back a few hotbars back with the cartel coins they are offering and maybe, just maybe have some fun or closure to my investment. Oh no, I failed to read the fine print with the F2P announcement and now it is staring at me with a hand extended, expecting more money.
You Can Earn Complimentary Cartel Coins! All players with an active subscription at the launch of the Free-to-Play option will be granted Complimentary Cartel Coins! It gives you a detailed list of all the Complimentary Cartel Coins you could potentially receive at the launch of the Free-to-Play option! You’ll only receive your Complimentary Cartel Coins if you’re active and subscribed when we go live with the new Free-to-Play option.
I have to resub to get what I have "earned". I have been played. And the sad thing is I'm slightly inclined to pay so I don't have to pay. help me ._. |

When the price for an account went from 60$ down to 15$ for a standard account those who payed full price should have gotten at least like 2 months free. I payed 60 and got the first month and no cartel pennys.

You should bEAware of Bioware and EA. All their F2P games are P2W. Having no desire to come back even after game went F2P is great proof for me that TOR is still a 500mln $ garbage.

I'd contact EA about it if you didn't recieve any if you have been a past subscriber. ![]() |

I checked mine. I have 1000cp for buying the CE + 300cp for the 60day time card I bought at launch to activate the game. Not enough to interest me in paying, not even for a month much less until F2P hits. Email deleted. EA CEO John Riccitiello's on future microtransactions: "When you are six hours into playing Battlefield and you run out of ammo in your clip, and we ask you for a dollar to reload, you're really not very price sensitive at that point in time...We're not gouging, but we're charging." |

Yep, Bioware even f**k up giving their game away, they have a perfect opportunity to entice back some of those who payed, played and left by offering them some essential free cost made up money, but they could not resist trying to stick their grubby hands into people's trouser pockets to rummage for some change.

That implies (well, to me anyway) that anyone with an active subscription will get extra Cartel Coins. I can't find anything that says you need to have an active subscription at the time of the F2P launch to claim the CC you already have accumulated.
EDIT: Actually, I think your right. Found the answer in FAQ page regarding the FTP transfer. ![]() |

IF you want to play SWTOR then pay for a sub. Otherwise? Well, forget it and play something else. The game's entire F2P cash shop model is designed to push you into a subscription anyway and with a sub there is not much point to the coinage right now.

If you see no good or you see no bad in a game, chances are you are bias. |

If you are GOING to pay for stuff, just give another month. if you have no intentions then just shy away and not bother. While not a glorious game, if you enjoyed it, why not resub for that month to get those cartel coins and you can get all the things you want and not pay a cent more after?

Welcome to the 2 tier community that is freemium. You asked for it ... you got it!
It could also be like Champions Online where you have to sub to play your actual fucking characters instead of template crap. Of course you should be expected to pay to play. Any company expects that but freemium and f2p only means that the game will eventually always only scale fully to those willing to now pay much much more than you simply did with a sub. |

To me that could come across as you have to be a current and a previous player to get the complimentary Cartel Coins. It doesn't state current or previous players. i tied it couple of days ago. Sad. After 1.4 lots of players experiencing massive fps drop no matter what setting they are running. I am one of them. i cant play the game even on low settings. My fps is 7 drops to 0.3 if i start moving. they cant fix that. Can u imagine the number of bugs it will have in F2P.

Another thing that really bothers me is that they are using this scheme to prove to their investers as a way to say "See! our F2P model is a success because of xxxx players subscribed the very first day! It must be our awesome game they can't get enough of!" By participating I will feel more like a business statistic than a valued customer.

They could simply reward all PAST and present players with free cartel coins based on their contribution. Making them resub for the conversion isn't really much of a reward. |
