I responded with "Within 3 years+" as I believe it will be announced in about 8-10 years.
Just want GW2. |

Yeah, not many. Perhaps there just hasn't been enough time to judge that one yet. SWTOR is the greatest mmo ever! |

It's a ways off. They've barely began on GW2. Compaired to the improvements from 1 to 2, 3 would probably be a beast game though.

I personally doubt Arenanet will make a GW3. Not only that but it's way too soon to tell anyway. If Arenanet makes another MMO, which they likely will, It will be of a different IP. I think they can take a page from blizzards book and see that sticking to the same IP for nearly 2 decades can get stale once you reach the third installment. Now there are some games who stay fresh and exciting by the time you reach the third chapter (after several spin-off/mini games ofcourse): God of War, Prince of Persia, Assassins Creed [sorta], Halo [i mean come on their coming out with a 4th game~], etc etc.

I don't sdee how your thread shouldn't get the saem treatment from the opposite camp. Not from em mind you I didn't care for either thread. |

Obvisouly we are not going to hear about GW3 in the next 3 years (if ever). You have to be pretty out of touch with almost every aspect of this game to think otherwise.

Originally posted by Drakynn Thread is serious. I really like GW2 and still play it to this day (have one 80 and various in between 20-30s in level) Some call em a hater because I have been openly critical of it, but in actually the criticism is of a healthy type. Hope that suffices. I'd hate to have to change my signature just to prove I'm not a hater to the more "life is black and white" folk.

Guild Wars 2 seems like a success to me. Why do you think its not, because its not what you hoped for? I knew before it was every released or beta tested that it was not going to be for everyone. I also tempered my expectations some knowing they would not deliever 100%. But to me they delievered a damn good game thats amazing to explore and play along with a new style of adventuring. Is there still a sense of quest hubs and kill X amount of stuff sure, but it feels different. You feel part of a living world that feels more like you are adventuring then actually being sent to kill X number of thins. Could it have been taken even further for sure and I am fully expecting them to. However, I do not think they are waiting for GW3 to do that I think they will do that in added content and even further in expansions. I highly doubt they are ready to fold in the towel and work on GW3 because some of the hype fizzled and some of the people excited for the game felt slighted. That is pretty much all games especially hyped ones. Just my two cents.

Originally posted by grimal Pretty easy really. A.Net has not grown much since GW1 days and now they have 2 games out. If they want to make GW3 they will have to double the company to keep GW1, GW2 (which is evolving) and, GW3. They took 7 yrs to get out GW2, it may be close to the same if they produce a GW3. |

I like the GW2. Is it perfect, NO WAY. Does it keep me interested, yes it does. But, the game is not for everyone. |
