Hackers/botters are getting more and more bold due to Anet failing to acknowledge them and banning people on the forums who discuss them...it just makes the hackers that much more satisfied to see us complain and then get shut down.
Currently in one WvW matchup flying orb hackers just took the orbs on all three maps and placed them in the sky so nobody can get them.
As I type this on my server(SBI) we have someone underground running with our orb...taken right from our keep(they also destroyed our alter somehow, preventing us from placing the orb down even if we get it back).
Sigh, Anet is showing off it's F2P colours right now. |

latest post I saw on the official forums on this subject from ANET
Hey folks, Since it has been a few weeks since we gave an update on this, just wanted to quickly update where we stand. We recently hired an entire new team of people with one mission in mind: operation bot destruction. They’ve been getting everything in place to accomplish our goal of making botting, hacking, spamming, and malicious behavior as non-existent as possible in Gw2. In the last few weeks, over 10,000 bot accounts were banned from the game alone. Another area of massive improvement has been in account security, where our two-factor authentication as well as your password changes have led to account thefts dropping to a tiny rate. A vast majority of account thieves use those accounts to run bots and/or perform RMT transactions, so our serious beefing up of account security has led to fewer bots, and most importantly fewer stolen accounts. That being said, we have massive improvements on the way in the next couple of weeks that help us detect, verify, and remove botters. What we don’t want to do is have someone report you as botting, we ban the account, the bot appeals, and we have no data to prove they were botting on file so we have to give them the account back. Ensuring we have 100% clear data on bots that’s incredibly easy for our GM team to quickly verify, and when an appeal is submitted verify within seconds if the person was truly botting is our most important goal. We don’t want to ban people who were not botting, and we want to keep the people who are permanently locked out. Bottom line: We’re doing ok, but we know we can and need to do much better on this front and are putting massive resources behind ensuring we have a permanent solution to this issue. You’ll see a dramatic improvement in this area in the next few weeks as our remaining detection and bot destruction tools and staff come online. We’ll continue to keep updating on this front as we go forward, but rest assured we are aware of issues folks are raising and take them incredibly seriously. From FOV to bots, account restoration to more awesome stuff to do at level 80 we have teams working like mad on all of these fronts. I angered the clerk in a clothing shop today. She asked me what size I was and I said actual, because I am not to scale. I like vending machines 'cause snacks are better when they fall. If I buy a candy bar at a store, oftentimes, I will drop it... so that it achieves its maximum flavor potential. --Mitch Hedberg |

I agree, we had the same problem this week on JQ, there seems to be alot of hackers on Blackgate (if i remember it's the correct name. It's too bad, because I realy enjoy the game, but the best part for me is the WvW and I will not play with/against cheater. For the bots, they are a plague, they are everywhere on JQ. If Anet does nothing, the game will fail, ppl will leave and they will have to shut it down.
Get a life you freaking Gamer.....no no, you don't understand, I'm a Gamer, I have many lives!! |

interesting because all of the ones i reported have disappeared mysteriously. hmmm. Been revisiting the midlevel zones and those i saw there every other time while leveling that i reported in the past have all gone. So looks like they're going thru and cleaning out the place.
they could easily fix this with a requirement of a certain number of reports within a given amount of time and check to see if the bots had multiple accounts, located near one another who were also reported within the same given time, and a secret number of reports needed to make the ban feasable. that would eliminate people abusing it by trying to get people banned for being buttheads or doing something they don't like. because every bot group i've seen has had four in a group, all rangers, all with crazy names like ZXCSRFGH and all four running around endlessly in the same are for hours killing the same mobs getting the same nodes. |

Wow, just did Spvp for the first time in about 3 weeks and noticed fly hackers have made their way there now as well, in only my second match I just saw someone flying from point to point...

Players come for the game, but they stay for the people- Most Devs have forgotten this. |

Well no suprise in that department ...all what was provided in the bot /hack department with the original GW game transfered smoochy smoochy over to GW2 and breeds there without boundries. Dont hold your breath folks neither Anet nor NC gives a flying shit bout it . This is how far their B2P goes you get to play the game without monthly fees ....none cares bout the quality of ur gaming expirience .

It sucks I know. But for the most part just banning accounts doesn't help them much. They take the time to figure out best way to stop the majority of these people/programs. Same happened in gw1 lot of farming bots and with in a few weeks they stopped a lot of them after they popped up. |

That's a little unfair, we don't all play thieves. Only about 50% of people are thieves in Spvp...at least 50% of us still need to be visible to kill people. |
