the more time people spend playing gw2 the less time they are spending in other games. they are trying to get people to spend more time in their game. so they can make more money and take money away from the competition. re-iterating use of the gem store every few months is just icing on the cake. I think the prostitute mod corrupted your game files man. -elhefen |

Some people must go to bars (free!) and then complain when they have to pay for (optional) drinks.

Zero for real money. May use some in game gold for the extra character and bank slots.

Originally posted by Aerowyn This, I had a good bit of gold saved up since I don't have a great deal of in game things I'm interested in speding it on I converted it to gems and have purchased everything I want off the store. From where are people getting this 'most have saved loads of gems / gold'? some statistic or data you have access to? there is nothing more flawed than thinking that you = entire game population. Yes you people spent 0 cash because you had loads of gold and gems saved up but how are you so certain that is how the majority is? I just recently read a topic on official forums about 'how much gold you have' and the most replies said around 10 to 20 gold. Only naive people or hardcore GW2 supporters would deny that this event wasn't a money grab. i am sure Anet has more accurate data here regarding how much gold an average players has than anyone on these forums claiming 'most' or 'majority'. |

Originally posted by Aerowyn Those gems that people have a lot of are just like real money, atleast in the GW2 eorld. In fact, real money is converted to gems. DamonVile- Games built for disposable players are now apparently built by disposable employees. |

Originally posted by muffins89 Yeah, since I left the sub games I feel bad for those who spend $200 - $250 a year for the time sinks and then their micro-transactions on top of the subs. That's just crazy. I could buy $100 worth of gems (I won't) and still get off cheaper than the subscription games. |

Originally posted by Aerowyn There you go again. If there is an issue brought up about GW2, your response of "It's like this in every game." is getting tired, and misleading. No, no it's not. DamonVile- Games built for disposable players are now apparently built by disposable employees. |

$0.00
Its actually interesting seeing people up in arms about this. It is a money trap, for those that fall for it. But to me it's no different than the money trap that is paying a sub.... |

Oh, the naive subscription gamers and their self-righteous rationalizations that their money spent is justified. |

Im going to send $20 since game come out ive spent nothing on gems so asfar as i see it still going to cost less than $15 a month subscription fee. Prob end up spending like $20 on all the events and it still cost me less than a monthily subsciption fee so i have no issues.

I refuse to support RNG based cash shop items, a big mistake from Anet as far as I'm concerned, they'll get absolutely 0 from me. |

Originally posted by bcbully Those other games don't have an in game lottery? I guess your game is missing rare loot tables that are a time sink grind 99.999% of other games have. So that was a nice strawman. Now answer my question. How much are you spending on TSW in total for 1 fiscal year? |

edit - to your other post. A drop from a mob has nothing to do with buying lotto tickets from a cash shop. Over the year for a sub, I'll pay about 156 dollars or about 46c a day. DamonVile- Games built for disposable players are now apparently built by disposable employees. |

Originally posted by Torvaldr When i pay for a sub game i know what i am getting. It is not same as throwing money for lottery and that is what this whole event is. I could acre less how and where people spend money but for me this is more of an ethical issue than anything else. I do not condone such activities and i believe players should not encourage this. |
