Originally posted by Eir_S I have to agree, I've watched the trailer many times and I don't think the models look stiff. The graphics also look good as far as I'm concerned. In particular, I thought the falling animation was hilarious. Hi |

bleh for a game thats suppose to be new and not just an expansion. it really doesnt show a damn thing. no mobs someone standing still while he knocks them back etc. whats the point of this video? its stupid wheres the new pve content show us something new and improved not some ediot running and doing knockbacks on someone standing still. it looks fail.. sorry to say because i love the concept but was missing so much to make it feel alive. mobs better pvp ai was horrible hehe just countless things that needed tweaked and updated but it looks like they spent more time redoing the company logos then they spent on the game.. :-( gameplay=win not the gfx. thousands of people still play games like eq and uo and the reason y is the gameplay not gfx.

Can't really tell much from a low-res 1 minute video, it looks like every other fantasy mmorpg but it does looks a bit dated and stff.

A month away and this is the video they put out? I could make something better than that on my lunchbreak. That's damn embarrassing for a "professional" gaming company. Seriously, do they have absolutely no pride in their work what-so-ever?

Originally posted by Draemos Yeah, I'm thinking my disappointment was based more on what you said than the graphics themselves, which are decent enough for an MMO this size I guess. No open world sandbox PvP game is going to look as good as it could/should when you post 1 guy spamming one skill at a time against a dummy. I'd suggest for their second video they show the two people fighting... or just ramp things up and show either real PvE content or several player characters onscreen at once; that's what people want to see this late in development. Honestly, I can deal with a game that doesn't have Unreal tech, but first impressions matter. They need to show some real action, IMO. C'mon guys, clock's ticking! no GW2 won't kill WoW, but it's time to move on and quit worrying about those people still playing it. - eyelolled |

The world looks dead and empty, animations look pretty bad, right on par with previous game. The 90's called and said they want their graphics back.

This is like, the 5th in game footage of Unholy Wars. Way to go MMORPG.com, always so well informed.

Originally posted by BadSpock Talented? Absolutely, no other game has pulled off an engine capable of what Darkfall 1 is. thousands of people fighting in the same place in real time with FPS combat? No zones, instances, or loading lines? Respectable? They turned down dozens of publishers for 2 years because they refused to turn Darkfall into a WoW clone, even when it meant borrowing more money to stay afloat. They're also giving Unholy Wars for free to everyone who bought Darkfall 1. Very respectable. Honest? Ever feature they ever said would be in the last 3 expansions was in those expansions. Dishonesty implies deliberate lies. Missing ETAs is hardly dishonest. Unless you want to start yelling at Valve and Blizzard and Nintendo for how often they miss ETAs. |

The game engine is from like 2001, they can only do that much in terms off animation and "smoothness", then again you can always look at wows engine.

The game is coming out in three weeks and this is all they have to show for the role system?

gonna flop if this is all they r offering. if they built the game they said they were going to theyd of never had money problems in the first place. And the reason they r giving unholy wars away is cause they current player base is less than 500 people and this is just a really small expansion that no ones going to pay for.

Originally posted by Ryowulf Thats always been DF's main issue as far as looks and feel go. The game and the world do look good, not the greatest and definitely not the looks of a game from the 90's. The animations however are pretty bad and can make the game play feel off or slugish to say the least.
Fluid Animations are a must for an FPS/TPS Action oriented combat system, for me at least. |

Uh oh...the animation police are at it again. It looks fine. Interesting that he didn't come upon a mob in the wild.

Well it certainly looks far better than previously. Animations are slightly basic but as long as they are functional and don't get in the way of actual combat.
I just still can't see the game being much more than a pvp map with mmo additions which keeps me away. I very much prefer a great pve game with pvp enhancing it and by it than a pvp game with pve as an after thought. |
