For the most part I agree with the OP, however I wouldn't have put it like that...It's just if your sick of the gear grinder type game then you should pass...I did try it and the thing I liked about it the most is how boss type mobs act when you fight them...I can see this game being a decent success as a F2P game...

As far as the bugs/missing features and things...this is not just a beta..its a very early closed beta...normally I would call BS on the "its a beta" excuse, but this beta JUST started.

Im happily waiting for GW2, but I wouldn't be surpised if I find myself dabbling in this just to kill time till that day comes.

Ok, after 2 days trying to play it, and found this stupid IE solution, I realized that RaiderZ it's not what I expected.

Normal, low grade game.

I'll try a bit more (til lvl20) and i'll say more... or wont say anything else.

I noticed GW2 had A LOT of bugs, for instance you can shoot right through walls at people in the BG's so you have a distinct advantage as ranged.   I noticed that a few of the quests in GW2 in the Asura area wouldn't complete the first time I did them, had to drop em and re accept and re complete them.

So, whats Raiderz's Bugs? 

Lack of character customization?  yep, it sure has that...  Lets look at your love GW2, Hmm only 10 hairstyles for Asura?  Disappointing :-(

maybe the man doesnt like the game and felt its garbage and uninstalled it? Does he really need to have a reason to ?  Some of you guys cannot stand it when something you hold dear is criticised. the guy has every right to voice his opinion and even if you do not agree with him it doesnt mean hes wrong nor you are.

Not blinded but very much humbled at the sheer volum of content, work ethic and dedication to a vision "I" hold as the best course for an MMO to make.

Sorry your so mad that I had an opinion but I am entitled to it and your belly aching isnt going to change the fact that I think Raiderz is a terrible game with little to no sense of innovation.  From the ugly animations, awful art style, and boring classes to the engrish phraseology and the sheer F2P quality of the world.  At least Tera had the decency to be a AAA MMO, Raiderz is nothing more then a cheapened version of it and is a bad game because of it.

I have just fought the final boss of the first area, and I have good news.

Even though it is not noticeable for fights with small enemies, boss battles play like a mix of Monster Hunter and Guild Wars 2.

Let me explain.  The final boss of the first area is the Crawler, a giant four legged insect thing.  You can hit it anywhere on its body, but it is recommended to his its hands/feet/whatever.  Why?  Because useful tactic is hitting the monster on its hands/feet/whatever until the armor comes off.  Once the armor is removed, they become more vulnerable to attack and, more importantly, you can pick up the armor and use it like a shield, gaining new attacks while you wear it.

So let me sum this up for you.  In the battle with the final boss of the first area, the boss fight meant to give you a taste of whats to come not only in what the enemy can do but what you can do, you fight a creature with a body part breaking system similar to Monster Hunter that lets you pick up the body parts and use them with a system similar to the bundle system in Guild Wars 2.

Remind me again how this plays like a cheap F2P Asian action game?

Again, really?

I mean seriously, you are turned off by a game in an incomplete closed beta form?

That is not an excuse to stop playing, but a reason to continue to play and create suggestions to make it better.

Just log back into the game, make a list of what you think needs to be changed, and post it on the appropriate section of the forums.

No need as the only way to make the game any good would be to scrap it and start over with GW2 as a model.

 

Sorry, linear questing and gear threadmills are not for me.  To top it off I am not a fan of the Tera/Raiderz combat system.  IMO if you go the action combat style then do the hybrid tab target of a GW2 or an Asherons Call.  Not having access to my mouse cursor is to much of a shock (and yes I know you can hit shift to bring the cursor up). 

If your not a fan of this combat system then: 1) Why are you playing in this beta? 2) Why did you even sign up? 3) Why are you starting a post in the forum of this game. 4) Why are you telling us about a game you never had an open mind to in the first place. Go back to MMOs that are your type and leave the criticism to people that actually care about the game and the further development of it.

You never list of anything you dont' like, this is essentially trolling sir, you just say you hate something and then don't back it up with any opinions or data at all, yep, thats pretty much trolling.

The discussion was never civilized to begin with lol. 

It was just some kid telling us about how much he didn't like a game that never enjoyed that style of game in the first place.  He played the game JUST so he could have something to complain about lol.

I think the combat in RaiderZ is ok. Everything else... meh.

Graphics style is of course a matter of taste, but this typical Asian style with outrageous hairstyles, pretty boy faces and porn-star class females is not my cup of tea.

Quests are pretty standard, boring MMO quests.

It entertained me for a couple of hours, because I liked the combat. Back to waiting for GW2 (and maybe PS2 beta) then, I guess.

I had fun. Most people are probably waiting till open beta so they can keep their progress. Then it'll be fair to really see what the future looks like. I enjoy the combat system. Dueling is extremely fun. Looking forward to see what the raiding is like in later zones.

After playing open beta for a few days, yeah, it sucks. The combat system is nice, but the rest of the game is lacking. Honestly, one of the worst MMO's I've played in a while.

This game is similar to TERA as the masses have mentioned. However, I am sad to say after having paid and played TERA for 2 months, RaiderZ is better than TERA.

The combat is strategic rather than solely reactionary and mistakes are a bit more punishing in battle.

Large variety in character customization.

A crafting system which encourages character progression; a simple yet stuck in your mind "thing".

Graphics are of the same era, but on completely different engines.

Free to play.

Some of the boss fights are just plain brutal aesthetically and hard in difficulty; your character will be pummeled, slammed, eaten and gored all quite literally. Sounds like a dark twist, but nothing compared to 2Moons or Requiem.

I played GW2 early access until RaiderZ's OBT began, I needed a break and RaiderZ was something different. Also might I add, MAIET the developer of GunZ made this game! That alone earns a portion of my time, MAIET has brought both joy and tears to my childhood.

got to play it through some of the Betas.

Pros:

1. the action oriented combat is great, all classes can block, and dodge
2. You're not stuck to one class, the skill tree allows you to put points into the other classes tree thus allowing you to create customizable classes such as warrior mage, sorc cleric etc.
3. Boss fights were very fun and did not require the trinity to complete, this also included instanced boss fights as well.   A lot of the encounters required good positioning, dodging and well placed blocks.
4. Crafting is the main part of the game as the best equipment is obtained from crafting.

1. Balance issues
2. Areas are zoned/instanced
3. Linear quests
4. Pvp zones are crossed with Pve quests which cause too much ganking.
5. Level differences do effect battle outcomes

Overall a good game but with some issues but as always the game is still in beta and player feedback will definitely make it more fun.  Probably some other stuff i forgot to mention but these are the ones that come to mind at the moment.

Respectful of your opinion, and mind you I post my share of negativity on these forums, but in my honest opinion; it's not THAT bad of a game..

I feel that TERA was unexcusable because I had to pay 60 bucks and then subscribe to play it, however with this game which just about offers everything TERA did, I had to invest little more than time and hard drive space..

It has it's issues, mainly with command response lag, but once compensated for like lag in an FPS you get the hang of it..
