Well I have to admit the initial spell of GW2 was pretty strong. More so than any MMO I have ever played. Alas... I logged in today after not playing for a couple weeks. I admit to being lured away by Torchlight 2, Dishonored, Borderlands 2 and the recent Skyrim patch/DLC. Yes I know they are not mmos. Anyway so I logged in and it hit me like a ton of bricks. I am done. Not much else to say. Got a Necro up to level 45 with articifer up to 225 but I just don't have it in me to take it any further. With 16% world completion there is absolutely no way I will ever find the motivation to continue. I remember swearing off themeparks after SWTOR. Well I'm going to try and swear them off again. We'll see. Anyway, back to the trusty single player/coop PC games.

Well, see ya. Always remember that the game will still be there if you ever want to play again, and you won't have to pay a subscription to get back in.

Nothing bad to say about the game. GW2 is a shining example for themepark mmos done well. I am just completely burned out on the genre I think.

I'd wait a couple more days for the Halloween event at least... but hell, you can still log in and check it out, it's not like you have to fork out $15 to do so ;-)

So this is what it has come down to "well the game will be waiting for you if you decide to come back because its free ya know"?
You can say that to about 90% of the games out on the market now. Velika: City of Wheels: Among the mortal races, the humans were the only one that never built cities or great empires; a curse laid upon them by their creator, Gidd, forced them to wander as nomads for twenty centuries... |

Originally posted by stayontarget What do you mean "this is what it has come down to"? I'm just repeating what ArenaNet have said before. If you want to stop playing GW2 then go ahead, you can always come back. If said person truly doesn't like GW2 then they can just stop playing, no game is going to appeal to everybody. |

Originally posted by romanator0 Not all of us make such a big deal about 15 bucks a month you know? so yes he is right. His P2P MMOS are also always there since he is 'willing' to pay sub for it. Most of the MMOS i play are on recurring sub since 15 bucks for whole month of entertainment is as cheap as it gets. |

If you take a break from something, you stop paying. Anyway, $12-15 a month is nothing compared to the costs of other forms of entertainment. It shouldn't be an excuse or an advertised feature that you don't have to pay to try something again to see if they fixed the problems you had with it previously. |

Originally posted by romanator0 If you are not willing to pay 15 bucks a month then yes it is gate way. I never though of it this way. I think it is matter of prespective. Such a nominal fee was nevera issue for me and certainly not the guy you quoted. |

Originally posted by romanator0 Yes, but this isn't a solution to any underlying solutions or even a nice bonus. Many people are willing to pay a small sum per month for a good MMO, and even with Guild Wars 2 being free, the OP as well as others do not find it worth logging into. This isn't to say Guild Wars 2 is bad. It just doesn't have enough variety to keep the majority logging in. I say majority from experience with my guilds and friends' list. Your own mileage may vary. I don't mean to sound overly negative, but this, "Well, at least you don't have to pay," argument is very... misguided. |
