Originally posted by bubaluba Well mister, they took my money and gave me a game I already owned. On top of that they closed the servers of a game that had recently launched after taking my money for the right to play online. After that they closed down servers to a multiplayer game I really enjoyed and that was still popular simply to get people to buy their new version of the game. And that was just the recent stuff, I'm afraid to go into what I may have repressed. |

Seriously it amuses me, all these people complaining. Yet I haven't heard one comment or idea as to how you change a sports game. That's been the same for.. I don't know, how long has it been around? EA will always be damned if they do, damned if they don't. If they hadn't released a new FIFA this year, chances are you'd probably still be complaining. Don't change anything you are evil. Change something you are evil. It is just impossible to win with gamers. Edit: Yes I speak from experience. Bioware is still on my shit list for what they did to DA2. In War - Victory. |

How much does EA have to play FIFA to keep the license?

When EA launches a new game if it doesn't sale as well as they like they have no issue killing a game you do like in the hopes of you buying the new one lol. |

Is there any sane gamer who would buy more than one soccer game for Wii (say, Fifa 11, Fifa 12) plus version 13 and complain because he bought the same thing three times in a row? How about.. not buying more than one football game for your console?? I can guarantee that Fifa 13 is not a sequel to Fifa 12 with new story and flying unicorn mounts. Bwa-hahaha.... |

It's nothing new, the last Modern Warfare is EXACTLY EXXXXXXXACTLY the same game as the previous one. It has the same models, same graphics, same maps, same guns, same phsyics, same everything, except they added some maps. So when it launched you paid $60 for a map pack that every other game would only charge you ~$10-15 for...and you can't play against players in the old game, so you had to buy it....I boycott Call of Duty games now after this blatant copying. At least in previous games, and games from other developers, they tweak the game and add in some newer things. The engine and coding in this game was exactly the same as the old one...they didn't tweak anything, except made it possible to charge you to rent a server lol...money grab much? Borderlands 2 and Medal of Honor/Battlefield from here on out for me :)

People are so angry it makes me all warm and fuzzy inside.
You guys are literally assaulting a company based on a soccer console game, on an MMORPG forum. Then there's the flip side of the coin. Take Finnish NHL players on PS3. Newest NHL released with fucked up rosters for SM-Liiga (Finnish Elite Hockey Leaque) and what did the players do? Instead of "boycotting" a major publisher due to a mistake, they modded the rosters to be more accurate, the beta versions are available through PS3's downloadable content. Now, I do not own Fifa, but if such feature exists in that game, I advice you do that to Fifa 13 next year. If not, send some email requesting such feature for the next Fifa game. I'm sure those who are making the Fifa series enjoy football themselves, but gosh, do you think a major publisher lets them to kill the profits of a game for updating the rosters for free? Do you have absolutely any idea about the license costs? Don't blame EA, blame the demand to satisfy and think of the best of the stockholders, not the company.

Personal perspective on EA, hmm... As they continue to reach for money not caring about the quality of the games they release, I tend to not purchase games published by them.
I originally boycotted the Madden series because EA essentially created a monopoly when securing the NFL franchise back in 2004 or 2005 which basically froze 2k out of making what I thought was the better NFL game/series, subjective I know, but my oppinion. They weren't able to do the same thing with the NBA(they did try though) which I am profoundly grateful for. The NBA2k series was always better for me, owned the first on dreamcast and was blown away.
I have heard that the Tigerwoods golf was pretty good through the years along with the recent hockey iterations going back to 2010 maybe.

Look what EA did to Sim City! Oh. My. Gawd!
I have never seen an organization with utterly no shame at all. Usually we say about greedy, foolish, nasty companies, "you have such little shame."
EA has no shame; they will destroy gaming as we know it, and leave a pile a great games dead.
Amazing. Even for EA it is amazing. "The truth is EA lies." - Youtube User Sim City. Everquest. Civilization. Dungeon Keeper. Vampire: The Masquerade. These are the games that I love and cherish. |

This thread is 5 months old. Locking it up. There's already a place to gripe about SimCity without necroing old EA threads.
