All of history is a lie. The truth depends on who does the listening, and who does the telling... |

1) FFXI 2) WoW Vanilla and BC 3) Asherons Call 4) GW2 5) EQ I could rate some more but they are pretty much the same as in I played for a very short amount of time and left them alone. These are the only 5 I have put any amount of time into and the only ones worth mentioning. RIP Jimmy "The Rev" Sullivan and Paul Gray. |

1: City of Heroes 2: Vanilla WoW 3: SWG (honestly would have been up higher...but SOE managed to burn it to the ground not long after I got into it) 4: EQOA (First MMO, and had some good times with good people. AS an MMO...it would actually rank lower, if at all) 5: Flyff (Have no idea why, the wife and I loved it and I went out with a bang...handing out 10 million of whatever its currency was to each player I saw in the noob zone) 6: DDO 7: Perfect World (One of the better F2P I'd seen at the time) 8: Fallen Earth (Solid game, fun, free) 9: Atlantica (For being good, free, and something different that actually worked) 10: DOMO
DOMO was actually a surprise for me. Its was unique, its multiclassing was well done, its combat was fun, and I just liked leveling in it. |

MMORPGs are no longer about the mass multi-user anymore *sadly* |

1. Lineage II (pre-GoD) 2. Lord of the Rings online (pre-MoM) 3. Silkroad online (pre-botinvasion) 4. ...euh... Can't get past 3. Currently playing RIFT and enjoying it, but too early to add it to the list. GW2 is good, but not good enough for me to drop on this list either... Demigoth's RPG adventures ~ My blog ASUS M4N72-E |

Interesting what every one is saying; By best, I will sort my list by innovation that succeeded (After all, isn't that what we're all really after in the genre?)
1. UO 2. AC 3. SWG 4. EVE 5. DAOC 6. Planetside 7. As much as I would like not to, Vanilla WOW 8. AC2 9. GW 10. And last, certaintly not least, currently played, and IMHO on its way to greatness - Planetside 2. |

1. Guild Wars 2 2. Guild Wars 1 3. LotRO 4. DCUO (oops, forgot in my original post) 5. I was going to put Wizard 101 here, but though it's fun it's totally Pay2Win so that killed it for me.
Honestly, those are the only MMOs I've played for any length of time. I lost interest in Mytheon in about 2 days, Family Guy Online in about 7, and The Perfect World in about 4 hours. |

Top 10? No way
1) DAOC 2) WoW
These are the only two I played for years. The rest only lasted a few weeks and were big disappointments. GW2 2 weeks, GW1 1 month, WAR 1 month, AoC 1 week, RIFT 2 weeks, RoM 1 month. DAoC - Excalibur & Camlann |

In no order: 1. Age of Conan 2. Vanilla WoW 3. DaoC 4. Lotro 5. City of Heroes 6. EQ2 7. Asherons Call 2 8. Underlight
I could not even make 10, no game I have played since Lotro deserves being in a top 10. |

Not in any particular order
1. Ultima Online (thou I know now how much I dislike macroing there and game relying on it) 2. WoW Vanilla (left before BC as I saw which direction it was going) 3. Lotro (pre-f2p)
That's it basically. I think I would like SWG pre-NGE if I would knew about it's existence back then, as I was not as aware of mmorpg market these days. How many and what titles were, there, etc
Other mmprpg's I played don't deserve to be on that list. |

Off the top of my head. Might be forgetting one or two. When I want a single-player story, I'll play a single-player game. When I play an MMO, I want a massively multiplayer world. |

There're four pages and not one line of discussion. I understand why some forums forbid their users from making "list" threads.
