I enjoyed Wing Commander, but if his company endorses online-bullying like CCP does, then I have better things to spend my money on.

I loved the old space sim games. Pretty much any game BadSpock mentioned up there, I played it for months, enjoying the hell out of it. In fact, there was a thread a day or two ago about what Bioware could do with its space game to make it appealing, and I went on a mini-rant about the good old space sims and how disappointing it was that we were not seeing something like an X3: The MMO. And now we hear about this? Wow, color me pleasantly shocked. :) The fact that it's not just "military space shooter" and has other paths available is good to hear. I'm having Privateer/Elite flashbacks here. Chris Roberts is one of those few designers I will support without batting an eye. He just has that sort of credit with me - for now. So, count me in, and such good news! :) |

Interesting but if they really want to get that 2 million funding they should do a kickstarter, very few people will know about the unding otherwise

Well I've always dreamed of a persistant everchanging space orientated game and have followed Infinity and had hoped Braben would see sense and give us Elite 4. But it seems we have a new champion not only of the space game but of PC gameing as a whole, these next 2 years are gonna be the new PC golden age with all these devs now realiseing they can make games they could only dream about years ago as PC tech will always be ahead of any console tech as it just so dynamic. Count me in next payday i'm buying in to this, Chris to me has the enthusiasim and drive to make Star Citizen something really special and something for future next gen console owners to gaze in awe at not a bad thing I reckon.

And yes, I liked the Wing Commander and Privateer games, but this dude hasn't done squat in ten years. As far as I'm concerned, he's nobody until I see a new product released.
EA CEO John Riccitiello's on future microtransactions: "When you are six hours into playing Battlefield and you run out of ammo in your clip, and we ask you for a dollar to reload, you're really not very price sensitive at that point in time...We're not gouging, but we're charging." |

I like this approach much better than if he had gone through EA... |

I am seriously freaked out now. I just posted a thread a week ago asking why no one has made an MMO Privateer / Freelancer type of game. Take my fking money!!! I think there is a big gap in MMO's for this and I am buzzed.
