No, I didn't even see myself playing 2 weeks out of launch. Its nothing special in my opinion and was completely overhyped. Its the same grinding quest game they said it wasn't going to be... actually its worse. At least in your traditional WoW styled questing you're guided... in this one you just go around the map for hours hunting for events to be able to do 5-10 minutes of your story then having to gain another 3+ levels. PVP is... well dumb. I do not like scaled form of PVP and wish they'd also bring along a non scaled version of it. Sure you could say WvWvW for gear... but you're still scaled to lvl 80. |

Originally posted by Mardukk As I said before, the most fantastic game in the world could be released and many people here would complain becuase it is not what they wanted. Is GW2 perfect? No way but it has an interesting design and story IF you give it a chance. The exploration is quite fun. GW2 yes can be played by casual players but does that mean that hardcore gamers are excluded - No it doesn't. It does seem that people either want a hardcore game (like EVE) or a casual game (like GW1) but nothing to cover both. That is ridiculous. |

I've been playing since release and *still* feel I have more ahead of me to do than behind me. We're really enjoying it. No end game content? That's completely inaccurate - if you've arrived at this conclusion you're grossly misinformed, there's a crap ton of stuff to work on after your characters hit 80, to claim otherwise is really absurd. It may not be goals you're personally interested in, but that doesn't mean they don't exist. The other part thats a bit biased - unplayable WvW? BS. Get a better PC? My wife & I play on max settings and have never - ever- had any negative experiences in WvW caused by 'lag' or performance. If you're seriously lagging that badly, consider your carrier more closely, or upgrade. I can assure you some of us simply aren't having the issues you are - can't *really* blame the game for that I'm afraid. My prediction? You're not some one I'd go to for advice if you've seriously concluded this game will 'be dead by christmas'. I guess the vote results speak volumes though.

The expansion and the updates are what I'm looking forward to. Halloween event is coming, and I can't wait what ANet has to offer. As of now, I'm still hooked even with an 80. There's more stuff that I need to do: dungeons, exploration, PvP, WvWvW. It's too much if you ask me.

After being gouged to death by the poor practices concerning content by companies like Blizzard, I've definitely found my new home here at GW2. No other company so far has put so much time and effort into their game to make it such a nice play experience. No other company has made it so that the game can be quickly and easily updated, patched, and painlessly reset. No other company has gone out of their way to give their game the best solutions to every major issue any mmo player has had in the past. Integrity goes a long way in my book.

Why is it that fantasy trolls are vulnerable to fire, but internet trolls thrive on flame wars? |

Yes, yes and more yes. If I ever get bored, I will play another game for a bit and come back when there is new content. That is the beauty of a subscriptionless MMO. Since when is Tuesday a direction? |

Originally posted by Mardukk To some extent yes. I do not like the system of GW2 at all. It's horrible in my opinion. Do I like the freedom? Yes. However it will implemented so poorly. Having to spend hours and hours roaming the map looking for events to lvl up (farming the same ones often times) becomes boring as hell. So after my hours of farming same events, being an escort everywhere, killing x of x coming at me... its just nothing new. Guild Wars 2 was advertised to put an end to the common MMO, but this is nothing different beyond being more annoying. I still am sent to kill x of x and gather x of x like every other game, just in a more annoying manner. |

Right now there is no differences, we're all the same. There is no incentive for me to want to play through any hardship to work to equal or better groups. I'm just... given that ground. Sorry that I enjoyed outplaying someone with better gear or enjoyed having to progress and work for my gear.. not be given the same stuff as joesmoe who just is playing for the first time. |

Playing this until SWG 2.0, which is supposedly Origins of Malu which I doubt will come close. I see myself playing GW2 all the way to 2016 though.

I am still playing with my only toon even though I already reached level 80. Joining a guild that is active in W v W and uses voice comm has been a great deal to me. I see myself playing GW2 for at least 6 months and beyond.

Yes, I see GW2 grow. The game is not feature complete yet and I'm not talking about just adding more areas and dynamic events. The teambased paid sPVP and observer mode has been announced already so I won't add these to the list of what I expect to see. -Guild Halls/Housing -Player Housing -Some type of organised Guild vs Guild pvp with a ranking system. -A lot more minigames ala kegbrawl in the main cities and other kinds of activities. -More npc services ingame. To me it seems they only delivered what was seen as ready and mainly avoided talking about other upcoming features. Or just hinted at (the above). I'm positive that the features above will be implemented, you can remind me if they are not. If the game fleshes out in terms of features it will gain more staying power then with just adding new areas with DE's. Which will happen too, but the contentlocusts will devour that just as fast as now. You can't develop against that speed. But then again, it is not a big deal for me to play different games now and then and just come back after some time to GW2. After all, I did the same with GW1. |

That is the point of the game. YOU ARE ALL THE SAME so, HOW GOOD ARE YOU AT PLAYING YOUR BUILD? I guess you would rather have UBER equipment then beat another player, with the same equipment, on skill alone. Because in the game you like, gear grinding, you cannot say that with any certainty - you can say your equipment is what made the difference not how well you played.
I have played gear grind games, Rift and WoW, and I find them asbsolutely mind-numbing. Why? Running the same dungeons over and over and over to get, maybe 1 drop in 10 times? No Thank You. |
