I had 2 accounts in Shadowbane, 3 when it went FTP. I had 1 for my main pvp toon, the other for a buffbot/summoner or treb operator. To the guy saying how immoral it is, the game was set up to where you needed preist buffs to be competitve, and they lasted 1/2 hr (if I remember right). Any character set up for buffs was worthless for anything else. So you could have a buddy do it, but I wouldn't want to play a character that is only useful every half hour, would you? Some game mechanics lend well to a 2nd account, and it is not only for antisocial reasons. I would buff 9 people at a time, not just myself, and it was absolutely necessary to have those buffs to be competitive in seiges.

filmoret: One thing I have never figured out is why the game devs hardly ever fix simple problems that arise. It is like they don't care about the pvp community. Nitth: What makes you so sure its a simple fix? filmoret: Because most of them are. Sometimes its just changing a number in a code string other times its creating a few variables. However none of them should take over a few hours of coding. |

I have 2 WoW accounts but one is my friend who paid for it, mostly incase I decided to play the game over again while he was, which I never did do. I very rarely have any extra accounts, only game I do is Ragnarok Online mostly to either afk farm or if I feel dual boxy, I'll run 2 with a priest support to aid another character.

Originally posted by Maelwydd If you have ever played Anarchy Online, you would know why almost all the remainaing players have multiple accounts. It's really not optional. The game was designed with heavy player inter-dependancy. And with the game's population in the state it's in, this is not something that can be overcome with a single player with a single acount. If the conversation turned "Tit-for-Tat", and I've stopped posting, Consider it your win. |

I got into Wakfu for a while and decided I wanted to double box. Aside from that I haven't really found a need to do so.

I had 2 EQ2 accounts. In all I think I had 15 characters - 7 of them up to level 90. Don't need it in SWTOR as I can have as many characters as I want... not sure limit is 40 or 50 I think - I have 25 right now, and it will take me a while to work on all of them, which I intend to LOL. Yeah I know I am altoholic AAA grade. I was boxing on EQ2 but it was pain in the neck, was doing it only because soloing defiler was unbearable before AAs.

The last game on which I had multiple subs was PotBS -- 3 freetraders and 1 naval officer. I did multiple freetraders so I could provide my own raw materials and not have to worry about supply shortages or transporting materials through PvP zones.
Before that is was Perfect World, with two accounts (it's F2P, so doesn't really count). The last year or so I played there were way too many power leveled noobs who didn't know their classes or responsibilities in squad. So after the umpteenth squad wipe because of utter stupidity I created a second account, multi boxed, and did all my own daily bounty hunts, and FBs. Once I created that second account I never had another character that died, except on purpose. There's a point in the game where you cannot do cultivation quests unless your character has died. I literally had to commit suicide. Lord love the power levelers. |

Hey Devs, just so you know. The more you give us to play with, the more we play. |

In the way back of early EVE, around 4-5 months after release, I ran two accounts simultaneously on one computer. I did this thru all of my EVE gaming. And about 6 months before and about 2 months after Walking in Stations (EVE) I was running 3 accounts on two screens on the same computer. And it ran like a charm, in space that is.
I tried running WoW simultaneously, my account the other the GF's, and it did not like it. It had some serious draw lag. It was more just an experiment anyway than any real effort on my part to try and make it work.
But if you want to count me and the GF using the same card for the same game. Shit, I cant even count that high, much less remember them all. |

DAoC was the only MMO I have ever had more than one account. I think I had 3 and my room mate at the time had two. We had 5 computers setup in the back room, would have several friends over a couple nights a week playing long stretches of RvR. The mandatory buffbot and the 4 or 5 of us running in PvP. Good times. I barely have the time to play one account anymore, much less 3 or 4 =) |

Three accounts in EverQuest, and I two-boxed pretty much all the time. Plus this was back when I shared accounts with friends, so I have lists of 12+ accounts I had access to back then; whatever class we needed, I could bring. Two accounts in Lineage II, but I didn't play for that long, really; I only got to around 55ish. Two accounts in WoW, and at one point that jumped to three, but settled back to two before I quit entirely. Two accounts in CoH/CoV. I can't even really recall why I did that one. There was some reason I wanted to have two characters online simultaneously, but I don't really remember it. |
