The bots I used to see, usually 4 or 5 characters with all armour gone and each with a name made up of a jumble of letters, are gone now. There was a lvl 40 bot yesterday, on its own, with armour and a "sensible" name which was teleoprting around killing the moas and a couple of wargs outside a town all day. I don't know whether a player had been hijacked or whether the player was playing around with a botting program. I reported it, for what that's worth. |

Originally posted by Loke666 Yes GW2 has bots. I've reported over 2 dozen myself in the last few days, and I wasn't even hunting for them, just doing map completions. Server Devona's Rest. Due to GW2's game design botting is at least less "harmful" in the game world than in in other MMOs (still irritating tho), but long term the bots are still a negative that needs to continue to be addressed. Thank the Devs they let us Players report them. Gold Seller's Mails I still get, but much less than last week, I don't use Map chat anymore in part due to the gold sellers, and in part due to normal chat garbage (no need to get into that now). |

It's best to report them, yes. I've also been blocking every one I've reported, and on average gold sellers (regular chat spam) are usually permanently offline the next day. Bots take a few days more, but they do get banned as well. I don't think I've seen a spam for gold selling for nearly a week now, bots have become more common though.

I have been playing since Beta and haven't seen a BOT yet. Or maybe BOT technology is so advance I can't even notice. Either way, it is not affecting my gaming |

Whiteside ridge, Gendarran Fields - around 50 bots in various group sizes (3 to 5), around the north centaur hills, and south at the swamp, same goes for all areas below lvl 50. (Haven't seen any above lvl50 on that server) Necro groups, Ranger groups with bears. Since i've only switched around 6 servers (2 us) i can't say how the overall bot population is, neither do i care enough to commit my time to count every bot i see. So my guess is, it's ignorant and dumb to claim gw2 has a massive issue or non at all. However, while not reaching the other NCsoft game bot treshold, i can safely claim there are at least around 200+ bots just on whiteside ridge farming right now since weeks. When you consider that whiteside ridge is a medium filled server with no overflow requests in queensdale you are likely seeing and meeting more bots than players. (Which isn't nice). |

Originally posted by PsyMike3d Honestly, i am more concerned with bugs. Its been over a month and GW2 has more bugs than Starship Troopers. The bugs from release are still here and personal stories are still broken for over a month for many players. Its really embarrassing for a AAA title. |

Originally posted by The_Korrigan Personally I haven't noticed a single one of those bots, perhaps because I spend most of my time inside WvW. What worries me is not the amount, but rather their abilities and what that means in PvP.
So while some people think that bots only affect the economy, the lack of failsafes that allowed the presence of said bots can have a bigger impact on the actual player gameplay if left unchecked. |

Originally posted by halflife25 This. I agree. Even though the bots annoy me the bugs need fixing more so. For me... I think the mechanisms are in place for the players to police the bots so to speak, now on to the bugs. Quickly. |

I think its time to remember that ArenaNet usual have collect bans together in big packages to hit an criminal activity hard and efficent. As of now we are 6 weeks into the game. And alot of other stuff have had bigger priority, and with good reason. Like the 30.000+ hacked accounts. In around a month i will expect to see a big ban wave again. This time hitting bots. Properly just around halloween as part of the festival. And remember that bots in most cases are directly costing ArenaNet money as they found illegal goldselling. The more they can stop botters the more money they will make. But for now they can trace and track the transaction from botting accounts, and hopefully get the to hit the whole gang, and not just the bot being repported.
read how to create a succesfull mmo before posting about GW2. And read tao of ArenaNet before talking about innovation in GW2 |

That bot infestation that you mention took some time to deal with at the beginning of the game !! It takes time to collect all these bots and learn how they work and then keep uptodate with. But the way you put it all those bots showed up and were never dealt with. This is a blatant lie on your part. All bots were taken care of and no it did not take a year or years but it also did not happen in 1 day (obviously). After the big bot invasion was solved there were still bots that showed up here and there but it was so few and they got cleaned up so regularly (weekly) that it became a non issue and we ended up with 3 to 4 spammers a week which was totally negligible.
"NCsoft never cared and never will" is what you claim but the reality of it is far from it. Go dramahype some more will you, maybe soap series would make for better entertainment for you since it seems to fit your style. |

What are those GW2 bashers trying to achieve ? But you bashers try way to hard. Played wow lately ? Played Battlegrounds lately ? thats much worse then a few bots reaoming in a pve setting. At least you can double team with a bot and make easier kills to farm some stuff, unlike in other games where they steal your mobs. 1/10 for the effort, but next time dont make 20 posts about bashing GW as post history can be viewed by any1. http://speedtest.net/result/2112016336.png |

I play on an EU server since beta, and havent seen any bots. Although, as GW2 is designed to be "groupless" and gives you the ability to "just join in the fight" - how do bots cause you problems? Cant you just go along and join in? They cant steal your kills or anything here, and Anet sell the gold themselves - so I cant see how bots can stop anyone from playing.
