How the hell do I get to Orr?. I've been trying all morning and I just can't find out how to do it. People keep telling me to just play your story which is fine, but I'm a slow player and have only just got to 80 and I just want to see what Orr is like.

Trust me, you really don't. Its like Anet decided to take the worst parts of EQ2, which is that for some reason EQ2 devs felt like every zone had to have at least 500 mobs per square foot of real estate, and then multiply that times about 10. Then, 4 out of every 5 ports you find can be "contested", so when you die, and trust me, you WILL die frequently, you get to start at the ass end of the zone and spend 5-10 minutes just getting back to where you were, again, hoping you dont die just trying to get back to where you were. Its a frustrating and stupid game of "should i stop and kill these mobs" or "is it safe to run past these mobs". Invariably you only learn from going through the same areas 50 or so times because by then you know whats around each corner. So you dont go "oh its only 1 mob, i can run by it" and then round a corner and run into a pack of 5 raptors. Seriously, its a huge shit box. There is almost no reason to go there outside of your storyline quests. Rare materials spawns are stupidly rare, i.e. you might see 2 or 3 nodes in the entirety of a zone which has 14-19 ports (i.e. its pretty huge). Since i got to that point in the main storyline is the only time i can log on and play for 2 or 3 hours and actually end with less money than i had before. It had to be said. But seriously, if you follow the map down the coast it'll take you to Orr through the 35 - 45 zones and up. It's an island, follow the water.
Oh, ignore the guy above me. I'm having a blast in Orr... it's challenging, keeps you on your toes and really tests how well you have the combat worked out. If you're leaving skills on the bar untouched, you really need to look at those skills, learn what they do and apply them (or change them). I'm at 100% on two of the three maps and really, really enjoying it. |

One simply does not walk into Orr... (Seriously...it's an island. Take a boat!) |

If you see no good or you see no bad in a game, chances are you are bias. |

You want to see what orr looks like? Generic Barren looking land in different shades of either brown or with a greyish/blue tint, add a bunch of coral to it and walla Orr. Just head south from the right side of the map and you will eventually reach it.

Straits of Devastation is the starting point, more or less. I came upon it west from the southwestern corner of Mt Maelstrom. That being said - yes, it's the absolute most frustrating place I've been to in a long long while. It certainly fits the lore, so many undead you can't spit without hitting 10 or more. Makes getting around a colossal pain in the rear, and it gets even worse if the undead overrun the forts and contest all the waypoints (which they do very easily if groups aren't running around defending) The last dozen or so missions in your story line all are in Orr - starting with Fort Trinity (which is on the Straits, Orr is just across the water from there, a short swim with a lot of underwater stuff to explore, or you can follow the archipelago that runs south of Ft Trinity). |

Orr its not ment to be solo, saying that with my MM necro I solo 8+ adds at once, no problem with a proper build or at least will be easier.

Not to mention that the events that lead to retaking the waypoints and temples keep bugging and thus it's impossible to do anything there until a server reset/patch.
