I will not remove any of my ad blockers If the conversation turned "Tit-for-Tat", and I've stopped posting, Consider it your win. |

I run adblock plus and noscript on my browser. I have no idea how to even whitelist a site. I have mmorpg.com "allowed" through noscript already but i guess that isnt enough.

I like you guys...really i do. I, however, don't like ads but I do understand this is your main source of income. I will put you on my white list but I really would appreciate it if there was an option to make us both happy.
I wouldn't mind it one bit if the only benefit I received was knowing that you guys are making the money you need to run this place and I don't have to stare at the ads.
But for now I guess I'll swallow my pride ;) |

It's the best MMO site out there and I visit it almost everyday, if whitelisting helps them out then I'll gladly spend 2 minutes and do it. |

As a regular user of these forums I don't block the ads, I understand they help pay the bill and I never want to be accused of being a freeloader, I pay for what I use. Thanks for the great site, really the only one I bother with in the Internet.

Originally posted by MikeB I don't block your ads. My computer remains safe and I don't have any issues viewing the site while the ads are there. I do agree that really flashy ads may annoy occasionally but on a whole I barely notice them. Keep on doing what you're doing, I enjoy coming here. |

We are seeing a lot of people asking for this and so this is very likely going to happen. Thank you so much for your support of MMORPG.com and your feedback. - MMORPG.COM Staff - |

Originally posted by MikeB thanks. ok I clicked allow mmorpg.com for adblock. So if the big red block at the top is gone then Im good with the site? I dont have to allow through noscript or adblock all this other stuff like serving-sys.com, viglink.com, doubleclick.net, udmserve, net, quantserve.net, etc? Watch your thoughts; they become words. |

Either this is a really bad attempt at PR by a junior, or/and I just got insulted and labelled a theif. I can't speak for anybody else, but I come here for the forums and "User" provided content. Although I appreciate that you provide this service, I would hope that you realise that your income "based on impressions" is most probably provided by the very people who don't visit this site to read much other than the forums. We, the users, provide this content that Google likes so much, pulling visitors and "impressions" - whether we're "adblock"ing or not. Well go ahead, if you want to make me feel bad about visiting THIS site, when I'm running AdBlock everywhere else... you can see the outcome I'm sure.

I don't mind advertisements, unfortunately a lot of these ads have become extremely disruptive on sites from making sounds to playing videos and over-all disruptive to my experience. Youtube for example has those commericials which completely annoy me. Banners though are fine. So long as I'm not seeing scroll over video or hearing sound effects or seeing insanely distratcting images, I'm good. Once that line is crossed though, it starts to really bother me.

I'll ask again. Who's responsible for any damages an ad or script on this site might cause? If mmorpg.com can't guarantee that there won't be any issues caused by ads or scripts and can't be held responsible for them, then I don't see me whitelisting this site. |

I always appreciate the way MMORPG.com runs their ads. I've never felt they've taken away from the site and I've actually clicked on a few because the offering appealed to me. :) |

I'm trying really hard to be okay with whitelisting you guys, but the flashing and what not of the ads are really annoying. Especially when you spend a decent amount of time reading page after page, several times a day.....your going to run into MANY flashing/blinking ads just based on the amount of times the pages are refreshed and another random ad pops up. I dont tolerate it anywhere else....I dont think we should have to here. Static ads would be a different story...but allowing other companies to whore themselves out with annoyance is not okay in my book. Thats why people came up with these blockers....they are annoying, and I dont see why we should have to deal with them if we are not the kind that click on ads to begin with. No ad shown, especially obnoxiously shown is going to change my mind. I hate to be one of the people that dislike this and I dont mean any disrespect, but I dont feel its okay for people to shove their products "down my throat".....and I use that term to describe the annoyance (flashing/blinking etc.) of most of them. Do what you must...as will I, I'll be keeping my blocker on until something can be worked out to moderate all ads before being posted. |

Hell I remember when the games list was displayed on the front page down the right hand side of the screen and there was like seven on them. Im afraid to click the games list tab now because it takes like 5 minutes to load them all. ;) I come here damn near every day, two to three times a day. Ive gotten so much out of this site from the Features to the Videos to the Columnists to the stupid, informative, funny, insulting posts from this community; you guys will always be on my "white list". Happy to help. And you know what else, Thanks for the 8 (9) years Ive had here.
Now enough asskissing, about that post.
You make it sound that we the consumers are the problem, when really, and by your own admission, is the advertisers that have driven "us" to use ad blocking programs. Its kind of like the argument that spam somehow kept the cost of whatever they were peddling down. No it just annoyed the f**k out of us, and increased their profits by exposing more people to it. So if these companies are losing revenue its because they are annoying the f**k out of us the consumer and forcing us to block their products.
Now Ive never had a problem with the ads on this site, course I didnt know you pre-filtered them. So I guess I have to kiss your ass just a little bit more and say thanks again. So thanks, again. :) But its totally unfair to blame us for the problem and the direction the "free" internet maybe heading. We're not the problem and neither is the ad block software.
