For me, Morrowind. I spent hundreds of hours in there. Crawling my half-dead butt back to a silt-strider... "Why walk when you can ride" he says. Damn it felt so good to get home and unload.

I think circumstances are more important than the game itself. Games seemed more exciting when I was in school or a student - if you are carefree you can open your mind up to this sort of enjoyment. I would like someone to tell me I'm wrong though! |

Neverwinter nights, the easy to use toolset and dungeon master interface was such a potent vehicle for player imagination.... it's a really unique thing to take part in the events of a world and manipulate them in such a way that's not scripted...sad that we probably wont see a true succesor for a long time.
That game is truly one of a kind.

For me life is the most interesting game I have ever played and am still playing it how I want. As for playing a game like game, I've yet to find one close to my first experience in EQI was the most fun I had for about 7 years after that I played Eve for 4 and left feeling cold and have not yet found another game which has come close to either but still look in vien. For me, the games that come to mind are Adventure, Final Fantasy VII, and Star Wars Galaxies. Adventure is the game that started me on my journey into gaming. FFVII showed me that not could the game be fun, but it could look fantastic to boot. And SWG (pre-CU) was my first MMO and introduced me to the wonder of having a living breathing world to explose, not only by myself, but with other real people. |

FFVI, Kid Icarus (first game I ever got for Christmas), and Super Mario 64.
no GW2 won't kill WoW, but it's time to move on and quit worrying about those people still playing it. - eyelolled |

For me it has to be Baldur's Gate 2, and, unashamedly, Tropico.

Most memorable game was when I first tried playing Resident Evil 3 when Nemesis showed up and I ended up throwing our controller on the floor.

Everquest. Started playing in 1999 until 2003, now I'm back playing it. I met friends who I got to know in real life and can write a book on all my memorable experiences. However, it's pretty much dead now, but am enjoying it more than any of the newer crap out. 2nd - Runescape. I got 100 Woodcutting, which I feel like I deserve a nobel peace prize for going through that and putting up with the 5 year old guild leaders trying to recruit me. I had fun though, lots. 3d - WoW pre cata. I spent an entire weekend doing AV non-stop with a few friends and I will never forget it. 4th - Phantasmagoria, A Puzzle of Flesh. (Look it up). I moved with my family into an old farm house and set up my PC in the basement and played this through my first night there. I was beyond scared and believe that house was haunted now after that. 5th - King's Quest. My first game on my Tandy1000 that changed my outlook on video games forever. |
