Hadn't noticed as I'm too busy playing the game, but after a cursory look at the forums I don't think they're "haters" so much as they are "nervous. "
But that's a normal psychological reaction when someone's ideal "N" (where "N" can be political opinion, favorite car, or videogame) is challenged by a perceived "successor." Please note that I said "perceived." Re: SWTOR "Remember, remember - Kakk says 'December.'" |

It's an interesting thought though, about blizzard potentially paying people to hate on games in forums. I work in the game industry and I don't believe the dev team would do this, but there are people in the business would definitely not give this a second thought... they have a pile of money, and to them this would be just good "marketing".

Some people like a specific game and some people don't. Both should be allowed to voice their opinions. As with every review, you should take it with a grain of salt. In the end it all comes down to personal preference. There is no need to vehemently praise/insult World of Warcraft or Guild Wars 2. I've played them both, and both of them are fun in my opinion, but I can see why someone might consider one not fun or worth their time. In the end it is just a game ... and arguing on the forums is ultimately pointless. I've witnessed dozens of threads like these for every game ever covered on this site during the last couple of years. Just value your own opinion and state it nicely, without arguing and become mad because of someone else's. You will never win an arguement with another person if it is all based on opinion. When people start arguing on the forums all constructive critism goes out the window. Most people will not even listen to what you are all typing and just try the game for themselves. That's what I would do. One does not simply telnet into Mordor. |
