Is it the way all MMOs are going now ? I thought Blizzard was going really silly with Kung fu Pandas but here it's even more tasteless imho.

Actually, i think Dreamer is the only shortbow legendary available. But hey, if still want a bow, you could try the longbow, Kudzu  (keep in mind i'm not 100% certain this is right, but it does fit the official wiki):

Your ranger can use Axes and Great Swords right? So you can get Frost Fang or Twilight. On my thief all the other weapons I could go for are kind of lame. I'd rather have a joke weapon.

Yeah but long and short bows are my favorite wepons for the ranger so just deleted my male ranger and replaced him with a female one. He was Asura anyway, a race I don't particularly care for as they just look to me like the result of a Gnome shagging a Murloc.

So it looks like I'll be playing a human, jiggly, frou frou, pink clothes horsin, girly girl, Ranger. Maybe it will help me get in touch with my feminine side.

As someone who makes 3d art assets for a living, I have no idea what you just said righ there. What do you mean by "show pieces"? A lot of the art in GW2 isnt actually all that great, some parts are... some not... its the art direction (the combined visual effect) that it excels in... seems like this bow is not part of that however.

If your into making 3d art then you know not to be bias, you basicly just told that person who likes the look that since he/she is not a artist that he/she does not know what a nice looking picture or model is.

Since you say your a 3d artist , you should know what a show piece is, honestly it does look neat for the female player LOL but I know where they got the idea of show piece because it looks GOOD thats what show piece means, and the art direction in GW2 is actualy very very good , I have friends of mine who are wait for it , professional artists into graphic and painting , and they said outta four of them three told me that the artistic feel and warmth the art offers is appealing , on highest settings and even went as far as to say that the art work looked liked it was painted by hand and uploaded to the game itself.

So everyone has a different opinion , just don't give advice on opinions to other people then be judgemental to others based on their opinion.

You are also assuming way too much, and putting a huge spin on what I said, while at the same time interpreting it as something so far flung for reality its not even funny.

You throw out how great the art direction is, which the original post also referred to yet do not make the link between whether such a weapon's aethetics belong or syncronize with the art direction. Finally, you say not to be biased but all I see from you is a bias... a bias by definition is the interference of rational thought. I am trying to be quite rational about my opinion and question, therefore I think you didnt really comprehend the nature of the post and thread. Please try not to do that again.

If you feel that the design and aethetics fit into the Guild Wars 2 universe and the over all art direction, then just say so. Thats all the thread is about. You cay elaborate on that opinion or just leave it at that.

Exactly - and there in lies the issue. If you are a ranger (as I am), and were planning to craft a legendary (as I was) - these are your only two bow options if you want to own a legendary and still use a bow (lets face it, a ranger without a bow in either slot is just not cool man).

Go ahead and say I am over-exagerating - but I am literally considering re-rolling tonight (from my 80 ranger) because I want to earn legendaries that I can enjoy looking at.
