They have 100000 things to test and balance and tweak from ignoring the original game all of these years plus anything that they added/changed in UW but they have already released a DATE just 2 months from now?? Not even announcing a beta date first?? REALLY strange. This GUI the players havent even SEEN yet. There is a 3 second clip of inventory in the youtube video. And this release is in 2 months. Once players realize that this isnt a "new" game but just an expansion with the same ole problems of the originally I dont think they will stay around and keep paying monthly to play it. AV wil have to fix, tweak, balance a lot of issues with the game AND add a TON of content for it to have any chance of success.

Originally posted by ChaosChest You can't see the bigger picture here? 100000 things to test and balance, 2 months until release, no beta announced yet. They've been in-house testing probably for a while now, this is AV's way keep it hush hush until something is actually there and functions decently. Unlike other games.. *cough MO *cough. They've clearly stated they stopped working on the original a long time ago because of the development of UW. New UI, new world, more content, class system. Doesn't sound like all the old problems are going to be there lol, |

I'm glad to see an actual date was attached to this announcement. I don't have a ton of confidence it will actually launch then, but at least there's a date. Current: None |

Originally posted by Biskop Just like they said that NA players wouldn't need to purchase a new copy of the game when they started the NA server? Funny things, a lot of us ended up having to. Just because they say that, doesn't mean that it won't be structured in such a way that people won't end up paying another box, exactly like happend the NA server fiasco. I'm also pretty sure that they said that when it was DF 2010 and 2.0, before they started billing it as an entirely NEW game. Please, feel free to link where someone at AV said that no one who pruchased DF would have to pay for DF: Unholy War. I'm sorry, but I gotta go with my gut, which is based off of past experience with this company. |

Public betas are nothing more than PR stunts these days. So I really couldn't care less whether they do an OB or not, as long as they test it properly and don't delay too much.

Posting on my phone atm, will link something when I get home. As for your gut, you're entitled to an opinion ofc, and I agree AV sucks when it comes to customer relations and keeping promises. Personally I'm cautiously optimistic. |

Originally posted by Badaboom Because they had a period where they CHAREGED PEOPLE TO SWITCH. This isn't made up info, it's a fact. It happend. Never did I say EVERYONE, I said some people, like me. I'm not a liar, I don't write fiction, I don't make things up. Many people had to pay to move from the EU to the NA servers. No one got on the NA server when it initially opened for free. Fact: AV stated that due to the NA server having a diffirent publisher then the EU version, and the way the deal worked with the NA publisher, they weren't allowed to let people move to the NA server freee of charge, you had to purchase a NA lisence in order to play ont he NA server. Fact: Several months later they ran a promotional deal that allowed people to transfer without paying.
