For me I still enjoy the game, I don't rush but the game seem to rush on me via leveling is somewhat increased after lvl 40 despite anet 1-2 takes as long as 79-80.

Besides that I still having a blast playing the game.

How about you guys?

I've found levels 40+ to be quicker than the earlier levels mainly because gear is cheap and plentiful and you actually know the game well by that point. I banged out almost an entire level (57 to 58) late last night in about 45 minutes just from running around doing hearts, and such.

heard the same from my guild member who just hit 80.. he said 40 to 80 felt much faster to him than 1-40

I angered the clerk in a clothing shop today. She asked me what size I was and I said actual, because I am not to scale. I like vending machines 'cause snacks are better when they fall. If I buy a candy bar at a store, oftentimes, I will drop it... so that it achieves its maximum flavor potential. --Mitch Hedberg

Have to agree on that, once I hit 40 getting to 80 was much faster than 1 - 40.  The pacing is much more frantic in the later areas and the DEs are more intertwined and for some reason in the later zones players are more willing to call out events so others can come join, this is probably cause the events are worth more Karma and there are more champion mobs lingering around, addtionally the dragon events, it draws a lot of players as well which brings more players to particapate in other events.

Been 80 for over a week now. Full exotic gear and still having a blast.... 66% map completion and going for 100%.

My main goal right now is Map Completion and then I'm headed towards that Legendary Greatsword Twilight and then the Legendary Long Bow. After that its just PvP in WvWvW and sPvP all day long baby.

I have a human thief lvl 32 and a Norn mesmer lvl 16, and I am basically bored with this game.  Too repetitive, too shallow.  Having vibrant colours and flashy looking combat isn't really enough.

Boring as hell. If I wanted to play an FPS I'd play COD or something. Wish I could get a refund. I have a feeling most will feel the same way as WvWvW gets stale. For me is goes back to ANet trying to break the 'holy trinity'. No real healing makes melee damn near stupid in large WvWvW as there is no back line healing keeping melee up which makes dieing extremely fast, which means tons of running. Yah, melee can switch to a ranged, but serious? They're a damn melee class. If I wanted to play a ranged class, I'd have rolled something with a better set of ranged abilities.

The game is basically zerg pewpew with no real strategy for WvWvW. I've yet to be wrong about a game failing horribly, and GW2 is going to experiance a huge drop in population once people begin getting sick and tired of the same crap. Rushing a castle, dieing with no real healing, and then running all the way back. Fun! When you spend more time on the rezzing system then the prevention of getting killed, your game is bound to be a complete failure.

Sure I'll get chastised by some of the silly fanboys who think ANet can do no wrong, but I'm calling it here and now, GW2's pop is going to plummet in another 2 months because of the repetitiveness. They had a good thing with GW1 and then went and completely ruined GW2. The only thing that will keep most of the remaining population is the fact it's free to play after the key is bought, which thank god, because it's not worth $15/month.

You didn't enjoy it so that obviously means that everyone else is hating it too and will leave it in a month or so. Am I right?  Because your opinion is so ubiquitous that it can cover everyone's point of view, correct? I'm sure we can just discount those who are truly enjoying the game and are able to play a game for what it's worth and not just zip past everything and then cry about being bored. You guys seriously crack me up. "I rushed my way through this MMO in like 2 nights and now I'm bored, the game must suck. I totally forgot to stop and experience the game and have fun with it, but that's not what games are about anyway. It's just about finishing it and moving on to the next one." "I've yet to be wrong about a game failing" Cool story, bro. I think it's pretty easy to point out when SW:TOR is about to fail, but judging from the massive positive respons from its community and the mass influx of players that continue to flow in, I'd say it's chances are quite high. You're wrong. FIrst time for everything I suppose.

Lol just because you didn't have fun doesn't mean the game is bad. Just means it isn't for you. Go find something else to play.

P.S. Comparing GW2 to CoD is laughable. I honestly wanted to stop reading after seeing that.

I didn't "zip" through the game. The highest char I have is a 26 ranger and everything has gotten obscenely repetitive. The exact same repetitive task over and over, the only difference is you don't talk to a quest giver first as the entire quest system is presented to you right upon entering an area. How is that much different? They should have learned that the 'events' system isn't a great breakthrough either (Rift)

I didn't buy the game for PvE anyway. I bought it because it promised an awesome PvP experiance which has turned out to be absolute crap! Fun after the first two nights but when you realize you're spending most of your time dead/'downed' as a melee and running back because ANet decided healing wasn't fun and wanted to break the 'holy trinity' it gets old, FAST. Believe it or not, some people enjoy the challenge of playing the support/healer. There is no real option for that type of gameplay in GW2. In fact there is very little strategic combat in GW2 because everything is over so fast. Either I'm died in 2 seconds or I've killed them in 2 seconds, how fun...not! It's a joke and feels like an FPS because it's completely about damage and numbers in WvWvW.

Anyway, you have your opinion and I have mine! The game sucks in terms of PvP! I don't care much about the PvE aspect but what I've seen is horribly repetitive.

Reborndragon, you took 2-3 weeks longer hten I did to realize I would rather pour acid in my eyes then play this DPSfest WvW joke of a wannabe DAOC (it kills me to even put those 2 in the same sentence) then play GW2.

@Lorkii

I wanted to give it the benifit of the doubt but it's clear it's not going to get any better! ANet is set it their ways it looks like. If only someone could just copy the basics DAOC with an updated graphics system! Freakin loved DAOC!

personally,

i enjoy warrior/guardian much more than the ranged classes.

levels 1 to 30 are much less enjoyable than 30+. This may turn new players away.

In this day in age, with so many gamers not being tech savvy, they should really build a more robust tutorial system.

Dynamic events are going to suffer when populations stabalize. Having played guild wars 1, I am anticipating some sort of npc group feature much like guild wars 1 so you can do dynamic events.

Karma being tied so hard to dynamic events, and populations that will stabalize will be a hurdle for them to overcome.

Weapons and the skills that are attached them are already striking boredom in quite a few. They will need to quickly incorporate more skill choices. They took a serious turn from guild wars 1 skill system, and i hope they expand on it.

wvwvw, is quickly becoming very lackluster. THe last time i played, i literally went back and forth between one node and another for 3 hours. There needs to be a better more strategic way to winning, re-capturing, and rewarding players in wvwvw. IT's becoming a total mess.

Social aspects. It's great now that the game is new, in that people are socially involved. The game is seriously lacking in guilds and social interaction on a communication level though. I joined a guild with around 50 people online and in 3 days, not one sentence in guild chat. Couple this with a total lack of "partying" and no need for any communication in dungeons, take away from what makes a mmorpg a mmorpg.

I am completely loving the game, don't get me wrong. I am looking at what it takes for a game to grow. I hope that arena net realizes that they have to expand before people get to that swtor point of "im max level, there is nothing to do". There are quite a few glaring issues with some of the classes, social interaction, and end game content that need to be addresssed.

Again i love the game, and this may seem harsh but i can already see things that will probably turn a large chunk of people away.

I played WvW for a bit and from what I experienced there seemed to be a masthead that lead the charge. I don't remember what guild it was but they were pointing the fingers and leading the way. We were flanking, rolling, backdooring, you name it! The leader just showed such strategic prowess and the enemy was taken completely by surprise. It really depends on who's on your server. If there's no leader and everyone just wants to zerg around with no real direction, then oh well. Eventually someone will take up the reins...or not who knows. I enjoy the PvE experience alot, but saying it's repetitive is to say you just don't like MMO's. Honestly name one MMO that doesnt have repetitive questing or events. WoW "go kill x ogres and come back". Rift: " A rift has opened kill it. Another rift has opened kill it too". Tera: "Go kill x deer". UO: "Hail traveler, bring me 5 bear pelts". GW1: " kill 5 skale drakes"...the list just goes on. MMO's are repetitive. Run this dungeon x times and you [might] complete your set. I guess you just want a dungeon to run a thousand times right? Becaus that's totally not repetitive...

Nepitism aside... It's a great game. Just not for you., which is fine. Arenanet has said themselves "it's not for everyone" which is fine with me. Would rather have a community of players who want to be there similar to what we saw in GW1.

I got a warrior and thief both above 30, as well as a few other classes to mid teens, and I'm bored already.  I doubt I'll see 80 any time soon.  Good thing is there's no sub fee so I can pop back in if I ever feel like it.

Is a man not entitled to the herp of his derp?

Remember, I live in a world where juggalos and yugioh players are real things.

I'm level 80 and today I was helping my GF in some personal story missions,

She fall a bit behind in levels, she is lvl 67, and she really is behind her story, like 33 or so.

Anyway she was feeling tired but we only missed a couple of events to get the daily achievement.

A norn dude was asking for dwarven artifacts (dwarfs went the way of the dodo in the original GW1). I had actuallly done that event on my own early but went and did it again.

This time I decided to follow the dude, so I followed him to his hut, where he dropped the box with artifacts.

Not long after a charr comes around and they start to chit chat about the artifacts and the charr inspect them. he says one of them isn't of deldrimor (good dwarfs) origin but stone summit (evil dwarfs) instead.

Meanwhile some pirates (there is tons in the area) arrived, wanting to claim the artifacts. battle ensues with pirate defeat.

An asura couple (apparently they run some delivery service since their lab blew up) and their dolyak arrive to take the artifacts to some other norn dude (not sure where he fits in the story, was to tired to read).

So escort event. Once we arrive, the asuran tells the norn he feel that one of the artifacts is malefic and might be hard to dispose of. The norn convinces the male asuran to help him despite the reluctance of the female asuran.

Big giant demon imp dude is summoned from the artifact.

All this happened naturaly with no interaction from the players other than jumpin in the action.

Yeah, GW2 is great and whoever says GW2 is just like all the other themeparks MMOs is wrong.

And what sort of gameplay did this "event" inspire? An escort, a kill 10 pirates, a kill the boss at the end. For some of us, presentation isn't enough.

It created an event that was interesting and fun to follow. Not just some quest you were given by ...what was that NPC's name again? You know, the ones where you kill bats to bring him 10 drops of bat blood that may or may not drop. So that turns into kill 30 bats very quickly. Throughout you care absolutely nothing about these bats or that mystery NPC, you probably have no clue why you're even killing these bats - i mean what did they ever do to you, and when you get your reward from actually walking over and turning the quest in it's some BS Item thats worse than what you're wearing and a measely amount of exp.

You mean escorting something with a purpose. You're not just following his thing around because that mystery NPC told you to. There's a story to it, and a pretty darn good one, and you have a purpose for being there. What you do or don't do affects things around you. You're helping someone in need, not just taking that mystery guys random tasks that he seems to have an over abundance of.

Presentation is everything. I can give you a quest to kill 10 bats or I can give you a story about how bats swarmed and killed my wife and I want revenge. So I ask for your help and we go delving into a cave slaying every bat we come across until my thirst for vengence is quenched. Then I thank you and your exp, karma, and money are automatically given to you. You killed probably more than 10 bats, but you don't even realize it by the time you're done and are too busy enjoying the silly banter of the NPC's..

Meh. Your arguement doesn't hold water. You can find out all of those things if you just read the quest text. I won't lie, I do like the events, but I kind of wish there was a mix of the two systems. The events are neat if you see them play out from the beginning. Most of the time I find myself joining the event in the middle and I have no idea what is going on.

I absolutely loved getting to level 80 and I also have a level 20 toon but I am going to take a break because thats how I work. I have left EVE for a while and I have a growing list of things to do and also Skyrim is calling :D

I am going for 100% map completion on my level 80 as well as all the achievements I can eventually seeing as there is no sub I don't feel the need to constantly be logged in and can enjoy the game when I feel like it.

Ohhh I forgot still have to finish my Story! Haven't done that yet haha its like level 50 :S

I agree, I feel the same boredom and repetitiveness, I havent touched the game in 2 weeks. As a PVPer I am disappointed.

The animations in the game were the biggest shocker to me.  I remember a year ago seeing the elementalist video and thinking, "wow!"  After playing the game, the animations are really boring.  Many spells and strkes you barely even see.  A few of them look cool...but across teh bored...rather boring...like the game.

I was happily trying to complete 100% exploration but ran into bugged skill points that stay bugged for days.  I also realized that I need to explore all four WvW maps even though three of them are identical.

WvWvW is OK but I'd need to improve my graphics card to enjoy it more.  I'm not a fan of the zerg thing anyway.

I've only run one instance and it was the level 30 story mode.  I didn't enjoy it at all.

I haven't tried sPVP yet.

even if u upgrade the game has optimization issues and thats what breaks it.

I have one of the best system this universe can offer for gaming and still the game runs like crap on ultra.Just a reminder.
