Level 80. 400 Armor/Weapon smith. 82 percent map completion. I'm working on 100 percent map atm, but have a lot of zones on hold with 1-3 SPs bugged, and 1 bugged vista (catapult). Rarely ever log in anymore. Just not really any reason to. It's a nice game to have if I get bored playing other games though, can log in and knock out some pvp or w/e in a quick session and be done with it. |

I'm having a lot of fun. Which is weird usually by the end of the first month with new MMO's I'm not still playing all the time. But I still look forward to the time I have after work every day to play guild wars 2. It's very fun to me still.

Dunno. I don't see what the hype was about. If this is next-gen then I think I will just have to hang up my hat soon enough. Instances galore, the DE's are just as repetitive as any other quests, crafting is shallow, and the combat and UI are horrid. Its fun as a pick me up game once in a moon but if it was a sub game I would have dropped it already.

I'm level 80 and today I was helping my GF in some personal story missions, She fall a bit behind in levels, she is lvl 67, and she really is behind her story, like 33 or so. Anyway she was feeling tired but we only missed a couple of events to get the daily achievement. A norn dude was asking for dwarven artifacts (dwarfs went the way of the dodo in the original GW1). I had actuallly done that event on my own early but went and did it again. This time I decided to follow the dude, so I followed him to his hut, where he dropped the box with artifacts. Not long after a charr comes around and they start to chit chat about the artifacts and the charr inspect them. he says one of them isn't of deldrimor (good dwarfs) origin but stone summit (evil dwarfs) instead. Meanwhile some pirates (there is tons in the area) arrived, wanting to claim the artifacts. battle ensues with pirate defeat. An asura couple (apparently they run some delivery service since their lab blew up) and their dolyak arrive to take the artifacts to some other norn dude (not sure where he fits in the story, was to tired to read). So escort event. Once we arrive, the asuran tells the norn he feel that one of the artifacts is malefic and might be hard to dispose of. The norn convinces the male asuran to help him despite the reluctance of the female asuran. Big giant demon imp dude is summoned from the artifact. All this happened naturaly with no interaction from the players other than jumpin in the action. Yeah, GW2 is great and whoever says GW2 is just like all the other themeparks MMOs is wrong.

Eh... its something to do but I'm not sure if I'm having fun or just using it as a gap filler. Feeling more of a chore to level then anything my second 80, primarily since I'm doing it with the desire to convert gold to gems to make a 6th slot to play around with Necro a little. I just really can't say for sure. Granted a different type fo game (though similiar model) diablo 3 just provided me with much more desire to level and I just don't have that same level of desire on GW2. I stopped D3 because I finished maxing all my characters and I truthfully had trouble finishing my first character, my second one is even slower since I just find myself bored of the game within an hour or even less of play sometimes.
At least its not like ToR which had me off the game without a desire to play. |

Have a few fps issues in WvWvW so I don't do it as often as I should. Have even more fps issues with zone dragons. Enjoying everything else just farming gold and doing d/e's / heart events along the way.
This isn't a signature, you just think it is. |

As we can see from this thread the casual players (those who are still leveling) are mostly enjoying it. Most of the players who hit 80 have either retired already or are quickly losing motivation. I am one of the 80s who are on an "extended break". I wanted to level more chars to 80 as I am usually an altoholic in MMOs, but there is nothing to look forward to at 80, so I usually log out after 10-20 mins.

Great to see so many having fun, that's what games is all about.

Originally posted by krakra70 Well no doubt. A lot of the 80's (and they were 80's a few weeks ago) were averaging 10+ hours a day in my /age thread. That will burn anyone out. Talk about devouring content. No stop and smelling the roses from those type of people. When I think of those fast levelers it reminds me of my experience in Diablo 3. People were litterally clearing dungeons so fast they were not even picking up gold. |

How much I have played Guild Wars 2: Before Launch I had over 160+ hours played in all BWE's and Stress Tests. Since launch I have an additional 150+ hours total played amongst all characters. I have not reached 60 let alone 80 on any character. Max level I have is 56 on a Ranger, 48 guardian and a handful of 15's and 20's. World Map completion is sitting roughly at 52%. Combined now I have over 310+ hours played in Guild Wars 2. THE BAD ** I have / had a core group of people I've been gaming with for the last 3 years. In our previous gaming experiences I have orginized activities within the games we play and really had a great time experiencing the adventure we created for ourselves with those games. I had some great plans for my guild members to do together such as Mini Games and Open World Massive Boss Fights. I was not particularly planning on us being a dungeon running group because of the learning curve the dungeons had and their difficulty. With those two highlighted I mentioned above I became extremely disappointed. There are barely any Mini games within the game and yet no mention of why or when they are to be implimented. From lower level experiences with Fire Elemental, Shadow Behemoth and Champion Giant I had incredible expectations that the bigger event bosses such as the Shatterer would be something my guild and I could plan to do together. WRONG, after my 3 experiences of the Shatterer with other guild members, 2 of them left the game, and another stopped doing PvE all together and turned to sPvP because he no longer wanted further disappointment, hoping Anet will fix this. Now The mini game thing, I'm like WTF?? Anet when will you release the game? "When its finished"!! well this isn't finished to me and some what pisses me off.... Though Keg Brawl is Fricken awesome, its just hard to get enough people interested in it after oooh 3-4 matches. I don't consider the little chess game in Asura's metrica provence a mini game though I suppose technically it is a 1v1 mini game or 1vs NPC. THE GOOD!!! <--- Gold lol Okay now that I have the bad out of the way; which I did because last time it got lost in the middle and trolls claimed fanboi still. Wait I am a gad dam fanboi and proud of it. The game is fricken amazing so I have good reason to be a fan of it and declare so proudly!!! Ok here we go - as I've pointed out I have 300+ hours already put into the game and have repeated a lot of area's and content mulitple times. I've still found things I've never seen before by revisiting areas. I still come across hidden caves with puzzle dungeons inside that just simply blow my mind. This game even after 300+ hours still has me saying holy crap why hasn't this been done specifically like this before now!!?? In previous games I hated the leveling phase, I just wanted to get to the raids / dungeons. Guild Wars 2 I'm playing the game how ANET intended it to be played, experienced. No need to rush to level 80 and then figure out this isn't those other games that has all the real content at max level... it really hit home to me when I stopped playing the game like it had levels and more likek an adventure and explorer. I follow my quest line until it leads me to a new area then I explore that new area until I am able to continue my story line. I love the personal story line, combined with the renown hearts, and the DE's. No other game has made character progression this enjoyable to the point it feels this organic. I hated having bars and bars of skills only to find the best rotation and spam that rotation for hours and hours, the same for each fight. I have found it immensly more enjoyable to not need to focus as much on which of the 80 skills to use next but rather able to pay attention to the battle and surroundin area and correctly utilize what I have at my disposal. The screen is not cluttered with 6-8 skill bars, instead its filled with the game!!! This game has made it impossible for me to enjoy any other MMORPG that is out currently and will probably be my last stand in the High Fantasy MMORPG's. I can easily see myself playing this game as an adventurer / explorer in PvE for quite a few more months if not a year and more depending on the expansions.
Conclusion- Now I displayed my disappointments with the game above and yes it does take the wind out of my sails; which in turn makes me need to sit down and refocus my guilds direction until ANET fine tunes and impliments those things. Now that being said I have not had this much enjoyment in a game in a very, very long time.
Thanks for reading!! :P IamApropos |

Good, solid game. A+ I am having one of the best times in years playing an mmorpg. I'm right on the track I wanted except I would like my crafting higher at my level.I'm playing a Norn Guardian. I'm at level 64 and have about 204 hours logged in but I am taking about 8 off because sometimes I forget to logout! ;0 I have completed about 46% of the map and my favorite place is probably the Asura area. 46% is the minimal amount I have actually explored in those areas. Played UO for years and then WoW. Both games are unique to one another and my favorites. I am now adding GW2 to the list even though it has only been a few weeks, I can definately say this is top entertainment.

Havent logged in since lvl 31. Just got bored with it and most of the people who begged me to play have not been logging in. Tried different classes to spark interest again, but there is just something missing in this game and I can't put my finger on it. At least the new X-Com game comes out next month, so that should keep me entertained for a while. GW2 will be there waiting if I ever get an inkling to play again. |

Originally posted by FrodoFragins Caudecus's Manor is much better, trust me. Honestly my only big issue so far would be the feeling of disconnect in difficulty between the Ascalon Catacomb's level and Caduecus Manor. It's not just a "it gets better as you play more" issue, as even the 60s+ in my guild will agree that Catacombs feels like its a little too harshly tuned for people, enough so that it could turn them away, specially for an introductory dungeon. We ran them back to back last night, story mode for both. It was die and die again for the majority, then when we faced Kashe and finally the final boss, was easy, mainly because their mechanics aren't nearly as balls-to-the-wall frustrating. The manor though? Enjoyable romp! |

I'm still enjoying levelling in PvE about as much as at release. I like the event system. I like that everything from exploring to gathering crafting materials gives xp. I like that even getting close to level 60 I can still gain a level in about an hour or less. I love the world. It looks great and feels like a real place. I login every day and wish I could find the time to play more than I do. The WvW has been a bit disappointing compared to my expectations, but I have hope it will get better in time as they work on supporting more simultaneous players in WvW and improve WvW progression. I haven't even tried sPvP or tPvP yet because those seem to be almost a separate game that don't even give you xp to help you level. I'm not thrilled by the way they've done specialization where you only get to use 5 out of the many skills you can purchase at one time. (Admittedly many of the skills on the classes I've played aren't worth using anyway.) I'd like to be able to switch between more than 2 sets of weapons especially on my guardian. For now it's my second favorite MMO I've purchased (to DAOC) and money very well spent. I expect to keep playing for many more months. CU FP#0: The game must be fun. This overrides all the other FPs.
