Originally posted by MMOwanderer Not yet. We are hopping for a WvWvW official ranking system / web interface and expect some word on it after 1 or 2 rounds of the 2 week wvwvw battles.
Arena Net has stated they plan on making a full interface for mobile devices and web sites that would allow you to be part of the game when you are away. Things like the trading post, guild chat, maps and WvWvW status were talked about.

I like some of the posts here. I posted a few days ago about queues needed to be fixed ASAP and all I got is flamed, yet players and guilds have left because of it. Nice work Anet. However, WvWvW seems to be hit or miss. Either you are getting rolled, you are rolling everyone, or it is close. So can't really say how good we are. At times the players have no desire to organize and other times we are so orgainized it is almost amazing. Just the way it is. |

The Q system uses some logic, such as levels / classes. An extreme example would be, if there are 399 rangers in WvWvW at the moment, a level 80 Guardian would have priority over a level 1 Ranger. I've not read that it takes PvP ranks into account.
This causes those of us like me, who are playing multiple classes and taking my time leveling to be out of luck when it comes to WvWvW. The players in my guild that are level 80 have a much easier time getting in than me (level 20).
If they get server balance right, and hopefully the Q system and transfers make the players fix this, you would get a Q during prime time and no Q during off hours for all servers. This way WvWvW is not a ghost town ever, but everyone gets some shot at it.
If you are not tied to your guild (or can convince them), swap over to a lower ranked server that has less Q time and enjoy. |

Anyone know when we get to 2 week battles?

I'm on Gandara and it depends on the servers we're up against... We usually win unless it's against Desolation, then we're 2nd :D

1. For god's sake mmo gamers, enough with the analogies. They're unnecessary and your comparisons are terrible, dissimilar, and illogical. 2. To posters feeling the need to state how f2p really isn't f2p: Players understand the concept. You aren't privy to some secret the rest are missing. You're embarrassing yourself. 3. Yes, Cpt. Obvious, we're not industry experts. Now run along and let the big people use the forums for their purpose. |

Devona's Rest. We basically have no queues but we also have like 10 people during off hours. We do well during primetime usually but then lose everything after about 1-3am EST. We currently ahve about enough people to cover 1.5-2 of the 4 maps during primetime.
EB has started getting a queue right after a reset during primetime but that is because everyone goes there the borderlands are always open unless there is an orb run all the big guilds went to or something. |

Originally posted by gestalt11 I'm with Devona's Rest as well, and I was basically going to write the same thing. We do extremely well during the peak hours of EST (which I am in too). Awesome coordination, and a lot of fun. We pretty much dominate all maps, but not overwhlemingly so that there still aren't good fights. The problem is, from maybe 6PM-1AM is when our good guilds are on. Anytime outside those hours, we are so outnumbered, there are times we hold nothing, or close to it. There is simply no one on. Devona's was a low/medium pop server when I joined it (after switching a couple times when I first started playing). The ones I came from were high/full pop, and I would either never get into WvW after waiting hours, or finally get in, but was on so long waiting that I really didn't get any play time before I had to log off. Basically, the way I see it, there are currently two choices: 1) Get on a low pop server, have little or no queue, but not being able to hold everything 24/7 2) Get on a high pop server, always have someone on for defense, but have long to impossible queue times Don't know what the solution to this is, but it's the downside to WvW as it stands |

My server is really really bad at WvWvW, mainly because we lack any real leadership, but also because we have almost no level 80's. A-Net humped the pooch with the boosting system, sold it as you could compete in pvp from level 1....what a load of rot, if your not high level and kitted out prepare to get 2-shot by everyone and anyone. It's fun being hit for 12k+ by a thief and only being able to do 500 damage back, thats really competitive :) We have lost a lot of players to other servers, our biggest....well our ONLY big guild transferred off because they were sick of being facerolled all the time (yes, already :)) Now it's simply a case of how quickly we lose every single control point and how long before the few remaining pvpers quit or transfer off because of the retarded mesmer-port blob that descends every single time we try and retake anything. WvWvW is not much fun when you die over and over and over with no prospect of success. Still, at least it leaves the frontier clear for the macro bot multibox farmers :) |

Originally posted by Centhan Yep, this is a bit of an issue. The problem is I think a lot of people want to have their cake and eat it too by being on the top server and having near-instant queues. It's just not going to happen. I think the pop will eventually even out though. At some point people will tire of queues and just want to play on any server. I wish ANET was more aggressive with spreading out the population, but what can they do other than promote shorter queue times? Enter a whole new realm of challenge and adventure. |

Dev post on Q times (http://www.reddit.com/r/Guildwars2/comments/ztb7e/mike_ferguson_comments_on_wvw_queues/)
Hey everyone, sorry to not post about this sooner, the last few days have been a little hectic and I wanted to verify a couple things first about the issues we’ve been seeing with the queues before posting anything. As many of you know, it is possible for someone to queue up for a map after you and get in first. We’re trying to get that fixed as soon as possible but unfortunately we still need a bit more time to solve the problem. We will definitely keep you updated when there is any news on our progress. I have been checking the queue sizes and wait times for each matchup, and there are a couple interesting things I’ve observed so far that may help reduce queue times for some of you. Worlds at the top of the rankings can have queues that reach multiple hours (particularly for the Eternal Battlegrounds map), but most of the worlds in the bottom half of the ranking quite frequently have open spots in at least a few maps, and the lower ranked the server is, the more likely it is that there are spots available. I’ll be posting the up to date world rankings shortly. When there are queues for every map, the wait time for borderland maps tends to be shorter. Enemy team borderlands tend to have the smallest queues for just about every team so you may want to try entering those maps first before attempting to queue for the Eternal Battlegrounds. If you are just entering the queue for the battlegrounds and not checking the borderlands maps first to see if they have space open, you could be missing out on playing in the Borderlands while you wait for a spot to open up for you in the Battlegrounds. That being said, while we still have worlds that consistently have open spots for more players, it would be fantastic if some players out there could help us spread the WvW population out a bit so we don’t have a few heavily stacked populations facing large queues on some worlds while many other worlds still have room to support people. While I know this isn’t what most of you wanted to hear, I also want all of you to know that we are still investigating numerous other options we can take to help resolve some of these ongoing queue issues and we’ve been discussing them internally every day to see what would provide everyone with the best long term solution, but we wont have anything ready on that front for quite a while. Ideally, we would see some people move from worlds with extreme queue times to worlds that need additional people and start building up active wvw communities there as well. Having more worlds with heavily active populations in WvW will be a very good thing for the long term health of the game, and spreading out the population will help reduce the queue times on the worlds with the longest queues. While queues do indeed suck, the fact that they are this bad is because so many of you are trying to play and that is actually one of the best possible problems we can have at this point. It may sound silly, but it means that there are quite a few of you out there are enjoying the game and we’re thrilled that so many of you are out there trying to fight for your world. We will do our best to make sure you can. Finally, I would like to ask everyone to post any additional queue comments to this thread only from now on and refrain from creating additional threads about it. Thank you all for your understanding and patience. |

https://forum-en.guildwars2.com/forum/pvp/wuvwuv/When-will-24-hour-matches-end
The match that ends Friday September 14 is scheduled to be our last 24 hour match. The match that starts on Friday will be 1 week in length. We anticipate having week long matches for a couple weeks before switching to the 2 week format. We are switching to a 1 week schedule so we can continue to let the ranking formula adjust server rankings faster than every 2 weeks, and it will hopefully help people get acclimated to the cadence of a longer match. |
