I actually find GW1 to be more entertaining still. I logged in the other day and was shocked to find that the game was filled with people. In just two towns there were at least hundreds of players (each).

I've actually gone back to Skyrim. Guild Wars 2 just doesn't give you a sense of adventure and despite the dynamic event system the game is just a single player unless you're playing with RL friends. People never stop to talk or interact. Everyones a sheep following all the dynamic events with zero strategy.

Someone needs to make an MMO that forces players to team up and become friends or something. These MMOs are all stale single player online games.

Their are mmos that do just that, your just not playing them.

You can't just randomly pick a version of "their" and "your" and hope that you got it right...

LVL 39 and the game just keeps getting better for me. It seems the world is really starting to open up and hearts are becoming more stretched out, I find myself doing more dynamic events, It just feels so much more organic .

One thing i would suggest to new players is make sure you talk to everyone without a generic title like "Villager". Anyone with a actual name has a pretty good chance of triggering a dynamic event. Also don't take off after you finish a event, Follow that npc that triggered the event and then wait to see what he has to say or where he goes next. The DE is not over until the NPC turns into a vendor unlocking some sort of goodie.

Also make sure when you click on items read what the item actually says, Let me give you a example of a awesome de i expieranced last night. I was exploring some ruined haunted castle grounds. Me & 2 other players were just fighting our way through these catacombs when we got to some sort of shrine. I clicked on the shrine (2 other players looked and took off)and a text box popped up, It said something along the lines of kneel and pay your respect, So i did just that lol /kneel. Well low and behold the some spirit pops up and tells me to find the tomb of some dude and say his name. Regroup with the other 2 players find his tomb and we trigger a mini boss DE event. It was really awesome.

I love the idea that GW2 incorpereates emotes into triggering things in the game, Its the little things like this that really make this game feel fresh. O yeah, the world just keeps on getting more and more visually stunning... I could go on and on about how much fun I'm having, Still can't believe I'm not paying a sub for this Gem.

I am a bit bored of my level 53 Guardian but that's because the only weapon I enjoy on the Guardian is the Greatsword. I'm really trying to use different weapons but they just don't work with me, I mean shield/sword/mace is useless if you're soloing, it's effective in group content/dungeons though. Some of the utility skills also feel a bit useless. :L

For some weird reason I don't really see a lot of these huge player groups at the high level areas, I don't know if the area is just not popular or if people just aren't fast levelers. Could be both I guess. I mean I had a difficult time doing events because they were really tough by myself. :<

But I guess that's a good reason to try out new classes which I am, loving the Necromancer and Engineer. ^^

youre at 75 a week after release. thats your problem lol. step away from the computer.

Week and a half, leveling is easy as crap in this game, and yes it is getting boring.

You can only do the same 10 types of quests so many times before it gets tiring.

"But i'm only level 22 with 56 hours played" (generalization from many people here)

and thats why you haven't burned out yet.

Then why do people keep playing WoW? WoW hasn't innovated EVER (well outside personal instances).

IMO, I think people are finally done with themepark games, which is refereshing.

That being said, 75 in a week is easy ... if you put in 60+hrs in that week. Real life + being sick has only allowed me to put in 30hrs since launch. This new pace feels right for GW2. But I'm wondering if the OP has made a legendary weapon or gotten a set of dungeon armor yet. If not, theres still more to do that isn't the same quest over and over again.

Edit: I've still seen over flows in level 15-25 human areas. Perhaps a good lot of people playing GW2 are indeed slow levels. If MMO launches of the past 5 years has thought us anything though, buring through content to get to "endgame" is a waste since it typically takes a month or two to flush the end game out (even rift).

Edit 2: IF you want to make WvW a tactical endevour, simply don't follow the zerg and join a group of people/guild that takes WvW seriously. Doing so quickly turns WvW into a high stakes game of risk.

Have not played the beta, I´m 45 now and it's getting a little bit stale.

It doesn't give me the same feeling I had playing EQ or DAOC (to be fair, no game since DAOC did that).

I think it's worth the 50€ though.

In my opinion the MMORPG genre is on the wrong track, they streamlined the gameplay, removed time sinks, removed most of the group play, replaced the holy trinity with shooter-esque gameplay, took out most of the competitiveness (from the PvE side), made leveling too easy, you can achieve much with minimal effort - well, thats not the genre as I knew it.

For the record, I was never a raider and I'll never be, I did very little groupplay in other MMORPGs yet I like EQ or Daoc 100x more than GW2.

I think GW2 is a good game, it's not a MMORPG in the classical sense, they created a new genre and did a good job but of course it's not for everyone.

sorry man, this sounds very much like wow quest giver just without "!" on top of their head, and no need to return quest.

the different is that in gw2 DE, everyone can participate and get their own reward, and in wow u dont.

Most dynamic events aren't triggered this way. But some are and get missed by people. Sometimes, the NPC simply serves as a reminder that a DE is going on near by and puts it on your map for you (if you didn't see it). Most of the game's content happens "naturally" like the world is living without you.

There are to many bosses to kill, to many zones unexplored, and dungeons to run to be bored yet. I usually quit a game at two weeks and I am not even close to quiting GW2. Not to mention WvW.

The best game ever made in the history of the universe would end up boring me if I played it too much.

If I was having sex for 12-16 hours a day, everyday with the hottest... sexiest... chicks on the globe, I would end up getting bored of that too.

Kudos to you sir, before the launch of GW2, you were very anti GW2, but it ain't so bad is it?

Almost done with it. Lvl 80 in 2 weeks, 3 lvl 400 Professions, and no, I wasn't rushing, I played fairly casual (Some days didn't even logged at all). The Crafting is well screwed, with the Global Trade Post, everyine is selling well under cost of making the item. Everything is way too easy in GW2, I thought it was going to be different from other MMOs, but I was wrong.

Why measure GW2 by a different standard?  Literally tons of people have gotten bored of a game, or proclaimed it "no fun" or a failure, without engaging in every single shred of the game's content before.

If the gameplay isn't to a persons taste, and becomes repetitive and tedious, or is too easy, or has meaningless content, then it can certainly become boring.  It has for me.

Hell hath no fury like an MMORPG player scorned.

Yes I was and I admit I like the game very much now. It doesn't feel like any of the betas and the world is so much more than what they told us. I wouldn't say I wasn't wrong (Only went with what I say at the time.) but they made the changes I said was needed and gave us a world to play in instead of the single player game that has no content.

Level 80, 150 hours played, still loving it and foresee myself loving it even more as the pvp balance comes in (after the release bug fixes).

When you learn the potential of the trading post and the mystic forge you just cant quit it, I was never one into crafting and auctioning, but gw2 got me hooked.

That aside, been spvping a bit, with different classes, when you realize you can pvp with any class you want to, with any build, at any time (even if you dont have 5 slots, just delete a low alt) the game opens up a lot.

All in all gw2 shipped as 2.5 games in 1 (cant say 3 because pve and wvw are entwined), and has potential to expand even more as they deliver the minigames they promised.
