Redman: talking out your arse
"pvp will always be a joke in themeparks" Err no, its a joke in some themeparks - e.g. wow clones. It's not in others - e.g. daoc, planetside. Just like its good in some sandboxes and bad in others - e.g. eve vs vanguard |

Originally posted by Grimmx He is mocking you because you have to transfer your whole account. You cannot transfer a single character. If it is any consolation, the longest I have had to wait for WvW is 20 mins. Eternal battlegrounds takes a bit longer though. Yes if you encounter a zerg you are dead, but there is plenty to do if you dont mind getting crushed by a zerg every now and again. PvP isnt really for precious people who hate dying anyway. |

Obvious troll is obvious. WvW I spend most of my time solo and have no problems scoring over 300 kills in the first week. The Vertran scouts are easily flipped solo and downing caravans are also soloable. Cuttting off supply is crucial since bleeding a fort to 0 prevents oil from being built and limits the ability to repair keeps. With daily rotations it isn't as significant but once we go to bi-monthly the wear and tear adds up.
With 3 people you can easily siege a tower and get the door down. While initially it takes a solid FG to flip the keep, well geared trios can do that easily. Hit and run is my speciality and I've solo'ed dozens of supply depots and lead 3 man seige ops daily. When you pop 4 keeps in EB forcing them to burn 60 to 100 supply to repair the doors it allows the field commander with the 'ZERG' to easily walk around and flip the keeps with the doors open. We old-school RvR players from DAOC can clearly smell a WoW kiddie and boy this thread stinks. Don't like zergs, just build 3 ballistas and focus fire people in the zerg down in a single volley. Don't like zergs, 3 arrow carts grind gate munchers easily. Don't like zergs, circle around to the rear and kill 3-4 people that lost their run speed buff and bolt after killing them.
Zergs, when poorly ran are mobile farms waiting to be harvested. |

Originally posted by idgarad Cut the crap please and read the thread before you post. Oldschool Daoc?...i played both dread servers from start. And ive mostly played FFA the last 10 years. 3 ballistas, 3 arrow carts, circle the zerg?...yeah right. Im sure you "pwnzor" the zerg like this every day. Either way, ive quit the game. I cant stand having to que up for something i should be able to do from the min i log in. Im in it to pvp, not pve. As it stands now i cant jump right in and play a couple hours pvp because i have to pve first, then maybe i can pvp. |

Originally posted by pwain Good post, and its probably the answer to have fun in this kind of PvP. That said its not possible for me anymore. I work shift and that makes running with a good group difficult because of the different playing hours. Im also not hardcore enough anymore to be able to play hours straight with no limitation, its more like i can log on when i get time of from work, wife and kids;) It may be im stupid to quit so early, but im just not impressed by GW2 pvp. Ill probably look for other things to do then jump on Planetside or Darkfall 2. Atleast im sure ill be able to pvp in those games when i log on.

Originally posted by Grimmx The constant jab at Que times is a bit far. What servers have you rolled on? Sanctum of Rall doesn't have but couple minute ques for borderlands, I don't try EB. Heck last night I insta poped one borderland. The big thing in this game is small mans. Sure most people will zerg. But most people don't know hot to NOT zerg. I run a 3 man and when the right scenario pops up, we can defend a tower from about 50 people. 2 necro's 1 ele and man watch the AoE dps fly. But we know how to suport eachothers dps and maximize it. Is WvW as good as what i'd hoped for? I'm not sure yet. I do know i'm having a blast killing people as they try to get to the keep to defend it though. The "Youtube Pro": Someone who watches video's on said subject, and obviously has a full understanding of what is being said about such subject. |

So basically the OP gets owned in PvP because it's impossible for him to outgear his oppenent in this game, and somehow this thread gets to twelve pages?

Originally posted by Wolvards I played on Gandara first, then i jumped to another light load server (dont remember name). Que there sunday was 1 hour and 5 min. So what do you mean, should i set my whatch for 5 in the morning to pvp? Can i pvp straight away then, or do i need to pve 1 hour first? And no, i dont really like to snipe behind walls waiting for the door to go down. It just gets old very fast. You cant compare this pvp to DAoC either, its just no way to escape the zerg besides staying so far away they cant overtake you, but then again, if your safe...your not beeing productive. Yes some time im part of the zerg instead, but that isnt fun either. 300 kills was mentioned earlier, i would like to know how many was solo kills, or maybe people he just "tagged" before the poor bastard got overun. |

I've played so far since release, and the most astounding thing ive realized is that I haven't even been in a group yet.My abilities( guardian) all say nearest 5 allies. Is there any real benifit power wise to be in a grp beside Voip? Theres no group healing, no grp speed ,no grp nothing. this is what you get when you take out crowd control, speed ,dedicated support classes, and pvp rewards . I was hoping it was gonna be more like an attempt at a DAoC type pvp(RvR).Well even beloved DAoC didn't have the rank system at launch. So now it comes down to can anet update there way out of this, or do i just give up till eldar scrolls online or something more DAoC like comes along? |

So far I find the first Guildwars a much funner game. PVE and especially PVP I found much funner in the first one. Sure I can jump now and come across others while PVEing but its not worth the seemingly brainless gameplay that consist of mashing one button most of the time. I keep watching vids online to see if its any different for anyone else but it seems that everyone is stuck button mashing the same skills over and over while 'fighting'. I regret buying the game and do not think that I will get my monies worth. Guildwars 1 PVP population is now dead so I am left with just wanting to bitch and moan on this website . . ... oh well only 1 month till Darkfall relaunch . ...
NEWS FLASH! A bank was robbed the other day and a man opened fire on the customers being held hostage. One customer zig-zag sprinted until he found cover. When questioned later he explained that he was a hardcore Darkfall Online player and knew just what to do. |
