Originally posted by Lorkii Yep, this mentality, and it's cousin: "I personally don't like this game therefore it is terrible." Comprise about 90% of the arguments here. Are you team Azeroth, team Tyria, or team Jacob? |

Originally posted by Wickedjelly I agree to an extent, except we see this comment in every single game now. People putz through to cap or whatever and then are bored. Nothing, absolutely nothing, but 24/7 handholding is going keep these sorts of people entertained. If anything this is a primary argument why I think sandbox games (or those with heavy sanboxy attributes) will never be wildly successful. Even though people complain about how WoW, EQ2, RIFT, and those sorts of games lead you by the nose and funnel you through the game in a very linearly controlled fashion, they aren't being honest with themselves and the rest of us. What they really want is to be led by the hand through the game. How many threads have you seen where someone whines about being bored and then asks the question, "What should I do now?" Really? When someone has to ask everyone else how to game then the problem lies directly with them. If someone can't figure out what to do and how to game then that's their problem. |

This is just the nature of reality. The rate of content consumption greatly exceeds the rate of content generation. In the end, what really matters is that the game contains a lot of content that is actually fun to repeat. Which is why I think gameplay is so massively important. No one is going to repeat the same content for a year if they don't enjoy the gameplay. Are you team Azeroth, team Tyria, or team Jacob? |

They're unnecessary and your comparisons are terrible, dissimilar, and illogical. 2. To posters feeling the need to state how f2p really isn't f2p: Players understand the concept. You aren't privy to some secret the rest are missing. You're embarrassing yourself. 3. Yes, Cpt. Obvious, we're not industry experts. Then again I avoid Eastern MMOs like a plague and I'm sure there are much worse there because ads on this site give some hints what to expect :) |

I hit 80 a few days ago and am bored as hell. Everything at 80 feels pointless since there is no progression/ranks/ladder. I tried to roll an alt but the quest system has no replayability at all. There seems to be 5-6 different DE types and about 5-6 heart types. It feels like I have done each of them about 100 times.

I am indeed bored after being 80 for about a week. After hitting the cap I took a break.
I then bought a bunch of yellow gear from the TP for ridiculously low prices. They looked good enough for me that I didn't see the point in grinding for better looking gear or gear with negligable stat increases.
I then tried completing the 100% world acheivement and got sick of it at 70%. It's really all the same and becomes tedious.
I tried WvW but the queues are gamebreaking and if I play long enough to get in it's mostly a giant zerg. There's plenty of room for improvement in this aspect.
I tried a story mode dungeon with a pug. Wiped a few times and was in the down state quite a bit. All in all I didn't really enjoy it at all. I've since respecced my traits for more survival but haven't had the slightest inkling to try the next dungeon.
I haven't tried sPVP but they don't seem to have an instant join method and so I assume I have to show up somewhere to join. I also don't like the elitism with PVPers so ...
I rolled a necro and realized around level 12 that I don't like it very much. I now have an engineer who will farm ore as he levels to help my main level armor/weapon smithing.
This game doesn't offer much in the way of character progression after the cap. It was my major concern for the game before I tried it. It will be a while before we see how it affects the longevity of the game. |

Having a blast. so, that's a no, I'm NOT bored.
We’ll stop to sleep when the game is the best possible game we think it can be. We’ve seen the population of the game steadily rising lately and we’re not going to sit on our butts and congratulate one another, we’re going to try and build on that momentum and make the game even better. -Colin johanson on GW2 |

well, i tried to re roll an Alt today because i really have no idea what else to do with my Guardian since i own exotics and have finished my PS and also 400/400 crafting but i just.. couldn't, i mean the PS are mostly the same, you join the 3 factions available given for you, the re do all the Map explorations.. re do the same DEs which i dont even bother to participate in anymore so basically, all you can do is. well ,enjoy 5 of the given Personal Story of each race.. and if it's not enough, then do it with 3 different factions to see the outcome.. which will need some true dedication So What Now? |

Originally posted by AZHokie54 Really? so every MMO after everquest was worse than GW2. Not only worse, but 100x worse. I'm by no means a WOW fanboi, but WOW did more for the genre on a bad day than GW2 will ever do. GW2 has really added only two things: 1) Less BS. I can use the trading post anywhere (assuming it's working), I can teleport everywhere, I can mail from everywhere, etc. 2) More action-based combat. Although, even this, Tera beat them to release with. Everything else in the game is based on many WOW invented/improved features (e.g. talent trees, quest hubs).
Edit: I should also mention that WOW created real financial interest in the industry. Everquest started it, but WOW smashed it. Big companies have been spending big money all in the hopes of touching a part of WOW's market. So just remember, your precious GW2 would never have happened without its predecessors |

WvW is the only PvP I play. And it's boring when your server is losing and nobody wants to play. also Anet removed the Rewards from the escort missions in WvW, which was rewarding for leveling characters. WvW in its current form is horrible for levelings. i play my Alts there for hours and can't even unlock all my weapon skills, and only got a single level. Quickly bored from that.
