Originally posted by Master10K This ^ The only dungeon I've ran that's easier than CM Story is CoF Explorable, on the asuran path. That one is faceroll easy and actually can be 'tanked' to a certain degree, and I've even done that on my necro a few times. Guardians are still pretty good at mitigating damage, though, so they tend to fill that role fairly decently. |

Originally posted by Eir_S Any fight can use a tank but no fight needs a tank. Thus its all play preference. You want to play your char as a tank, be my guest, but don't complain that the boss kills you when you think you can sit there infront of it while spamming skills to "hold aggro" and it either ignores you and kills your dps or you die in a few hits anyway. |

Originally posted by Atlan99 Earth elementals and NPC's in general seem to always attract the focus of a mob first. Aggro lists in GW2, if there are any (you'd need to ask the devs how they function) at least seem to reset or switch periodically. |

Originally posted by Atlan99 To clear this up, bosses do reset on full whipe. Some bosses can be zerged a bit easier, as they are close to a spawn point, but there are others that can't. Some bosses are faceroll easy, and others are hairpulling hard. Some bosses even use the reset mechanic during the fight (to unlock CoE there's a boss that constantly teleports around the map. If you don't attack him fast enough he resets every time). Generally speaking, most Storymode's are fairly easy. It's the explorables that are where most of the challenge are, and some of those are so hard that it seems nearly impossible to get passed certain areas. This is only made more true, by people being in zerg mentallity & not bothering to evaluate each fight to see if they need to modify their build a bit. |

Originally posted by Master10K This is where I would tank the golems, I had to get the screen shot on explorable mode, but the staircase works fine whether you're fighting one golem at a time or 3 at once. |

Originally posted by Atlan99 Not really. Considering you brought up any fight can use a tank, thats a counter argument to you stating that proves your point. Sorry it went over your head. Want me to simplify it for you with a real example? Any fight can use a ranger, but no fight needs a ranger. Does a ranger make the fight easier than any other class? No, but you can put one in there can't you? Yay logic. |

Surely there's some aggro mechanic and you can work around with terrain and skills to keep mob attention on one person. But there is NO RELIABLE WAY to do it. Furthermore since Anet didn't want to make a tank class, even if people will figure out some flaw in aggro mechanic, one change will send them into darkness again. Imo good group set up is and will be one who support each other, rather than try to have dedicated tank and healers.
Anyways gonna ask same question as in last tank thread: I took my "tank" guardian with "dps" warrior into CM story(so same dungeon as in OP) and duoed it all the way. There was NO WAY to make mob stick onto me once it went for warrior no matter what I did. If there's a magic build/skill/rotation to make it possible, enlighten us please...
