I enjoyed TSW PvE MUCH more than GW2. Honestely I have not watched a cutscene yet in GW2. Yes they are that silly. Reminded me of a SNES game or something. I watched every cutscene while playing TSW, the content was just more mature and enjoyable for someone my age.
On the flip side, the WvW PvP in GW2 is superior to anything out right now. BUT the queues are stomping that into the ground atm....
My guilmates and I purchased GW2 for the WvW PvP. And the largest group we have been able to get into a WvW is 4 of us.....lol
And when you have servers that hold 2k people, but only allow 100 into the WvW, it sorta is a show stopping ordeal for most of us... BigCountry | Head Hunters | www.wefarmpeople.com |

Originally posted by BigCountry I think the servers have more than 2k each TBH. And the limit on the number of people may be more than 100. Your complaint is still valid, just explaining numbers a little bit better. They do need to expand the limit. IMO, ANET should figure out a way to make multiple copies of WvW with a soft cap on the number of players. Say once you have more than 30, you are capped at having 1.5x the amount of people the least populated server. For instance if a server has 30 and the least populated has 20, then that server can't accept anymore people. However if the lowest populated server gets 25, each other server can have 37 people and so on until the cap is reached. I wish the cut scenes were a little more dynamic than they are. GW1 had more movie like ones, but they surfice IMO. I agree with you that the story may be a bit .. cliche. Oh and hi again btw :P

Originally posted by Tardcore I've always just said that you hit max, or close to it 'relatively early'. Under 200 hours. I'd say that's fair enough. Maybe it's because I generally think of MMORPGs as being able to sink THOUSANDS of hours into it while still climbing vertically. :) Maybe none of them work that way anymore! I'm thinking of things like AC, AO, DAOC, vanilla WoW... I dunno. Maybe games don't do that anymore, but I've always been very careful to specify that it's horizontal after a while, not immediately. |

Originally posted by Raven I thought SE was at least okay. You actually had to plan some things out and pay attention more than simply running around in a couple boss fights. Haven't done anything higher than that one yet. I've already made my thoughts known about how I feel about the other dungeons so I'll just leave it at that. 1. For god's sake mmo gamers, enough with the analogies. They're unnecessary and your comparisons are terrible, dissimilar, and illogical. 2. To posters feeling the need to state how f2p really isn't f2p: Players understand the concept. You aren't privy to some secret the rest are missing. You're embarrassing yourself. 3. Yes, Cpt. Obvious, we're not industry experts. Now run along and let the big people use the forums for their purpose. |

Graphically the cutscenes are fine in GW2. They are just silly, story and content wise. Seem more like filler than anything else. Maybe it's just the whole fantasy genre, and the fact I am over it content wise. I compare these to watching cartoon network with my kids or something lol.
TSW cutscenese were more RL, and defintely more mature. Heck my character recieved a blow job in one of their cut scenes...lol :D
And yeah good to see you again too Xpiher. My numbers are off I know, but prob not too far off on the percentage of total server pop to total WvW pop allowed. Least it seems that way. BigCountry | Head Hunters | www.wefarmpeople.com |

If you see no good or you see no bad in a game, chances are you are bias. |

You typically can tell how a game is right off the bat within the first 2 hours. The 'better later on' statement should only be taken if you actually were undecided and can't really feel if you like it or not. If you weren't big on it right off, chances are your not going to morph into liking it later.
Rift was a game I played and it was alright but I wasn't exactly overly excited for. It was just enough of a middle ground that knowing it had end game that I pressed on and ended up loving it.
Guildwars 2 lacks that end game content and much of what it has is offered right off the bat. What you see is pretty much it when it comes to WvW and PvP. PvE isn't all that much different as you advance. Its one of those games that I honestly feel gives all its cards away at the begining, and if you don't like it in the first 2 hours of play, there is nothing to redeem it later on. |
