Hi so I love playing a dual dagger elementalist.. a lot of mobility and fun abilitis, however I cant figure out how to trait them. All the glyps seem to have to do with staff aoe spells or something like that. Only thing i saw really was 5% more damage in melee range in the earth tree. Anyone got a trait a build for a dual dagger elementalist theyd like to share? |

Hmm, lots of ways you can go. But I think particular weapons don't matter THAT much when selecting a build. There's more to do with whether you like sticking with one or two elements or if you like switching elements around a lot. I'm liking the idea of making a build that does a lot of attuning. I find in group settings with any difficulty I do switch my attunements quite often. Toss a spell for burning and perhaps a field, switch to another element for some debuffs, switch to another for some more, when I'm in water toss a heal, etc. Since each ability has a unique cooldown, you can get a lot of mileage out of this -- by the time you switch back, cooldowns are done in that element. Going with this, since you like being close in, you could look at abilities that do something to nearby friends/foes on attunement. There's quite a lot of that. |

What do you want to lean toward? Spike damage? Sustained damage? Support? Survival? |

Sadly, on this board we currently have a dynamic event in progress that involves fighting an insane number of trolls. Personally, I think the odds are rather stacked against us, as the trolls don't seem to despawn. In the meantime, one of these forums should be able to give you a good answer: http://www.mmorpg.com/discussion2.cfm/forum/1389/Professions.html http://www.guildwars2guru.com/forum

I went fire/lighning.. Personally to do dungeons or event loops so far all that count is the overall damage you do.. Dual dagger isnt really about condition ( imho ) so going full damage is best.
For loops all you need to do is damage and everything is easy
In dungeon ( so far ) i don't know if its because the gear we have so far sucks or because dungeons are too hard, but it's easier to do damage and res your downed ally, than try to heal. So yea IMHO go full damage
Edit: I'm talking about level 80 gameplay.. For leveling i know that water helped me a lot |

I posted this on our ele builds forum. Its not exactly dual dagger but it is close range(dagger/focus). Its a defensive builds great for getting points in defending them in spvp. http://www.guildhead.com/skill-calc#zcbzM000ovgToa0xx0mcaRVka |

Basically you stance dance and stay near whoever needs the buff while dealing damage and maake sure youre regenning end at all times. Important thing is to keep burn and fury up at all times. You can use the earth 5 ability and teleport mid cast to position yourself. Autoattacks, lightning shield, and interrupt on lightning. flame breath, cicle, explode and grab on fire. heal breath, froze armor, chill on water. Initiate and interrupt with earth and give protection to whoever is getting hit. Get geomancer on one of the daggers and stay close to the enemy. ''/\/\'' Posted using Iphone bunni |

Try something like this build Basically revolves around attunement swapping to constantly proc boons & auras. Not only is the survivability pretty insane, but you also do good damage because of the offensive boons that are constantly procing. Has some of the best balance between offense & support out of the ele builds I've seen / tried thus far. You can try building more offense-heavy, but one of the big problems w/ dagger eles that try that is they can't take hits well, but require being within melee range. It's also tempting to go w/ glyphs over cantrips, except the traits really make the cantrips insanely useful. They proc a lot of really helpful buffs, and are pretty good in their own right, as well. |
