MMORPGs Played: COH/V, WOW, LOTRO, EQ2, Guild Wars, SW:G, Eve:Online, DAoC, Tabula Rasa.

Before last month I had never played an MMORPG, now that I have been playing COH for about a month I am bored. No skills, no loot, no rewards beyond leveling. I like the community, the character customization, and the badges. Other than that I have become bored with it. I would like to do more soloing and I am not into PvP very much. It is of no to low priority to me. I don't really care about a specific genre as long as it has a good storyline and graphics and isn't the same mission over and over again. I am trying to decide whether to go with World of Warcraft or try something else.

Your help is appreciated...

I'd check out World Of Warcraft and Guildwars...

maybe even FlyFF (open-beta)

World Of Warcraft.  Best MMORPG in play right now.  Has just about everything *except* HardCore PvP.  Which very, very, few folks really want, despite the demands for it.  Will keep you occupied for a long, long time.

For myself, I play one of each Class and Race (9 total characters with mixed races among them).  I also play exclusively in 1st person mode and craft with some of the characters.

Never gets boring.  And, if you do want PvP, it is there.   4 Million subscribers cannot all be wrong.

Luck, and have fun with whatever you choose.

lol, someone suggested SWG, if you are bored in COH, SWG will put you to sleep. Try Guild Wars, its free every month and its fun.

Be careful, most of these MMORPGs are the same game with different skins. level, level is pretty much all you do.  You might be better off playing something like Neverwinter Nights online rather then spend a bunch of money searching for a "good" MMORPG. Most don't involve you in a story and all they do is give you endless boring task like "go kill 10 rats and come back to me for your reward". - Garbage.

http://forums.ryl.net/downloads/ryl_v1412_install_usa.exe is the download link.  Don't enter credit card info or cd key to start the free trial.

Only first-person hack and slash as far as I know.

Don't be turned off by the low rating here--that has more to do with some poor management decisions and how they screwed up the million-dollar contest than the game play.

I been playing since March, and it keeps getting better.  Just got a new computer and graphics card and it looks incredible, and the combat sounds are also fantastic pounding out of my subwoofer.

To enter first-person mode, hit w or the esc key.  I only play in first-person mode, but if you're feeling lazy, you can switch to click-and-watch by hitting the esc key again.

When you login on the Iveria server, say in global chat (/c then your message) "Hey Expat--gimme some gold" and I'll give you some startup gold if I'm online.  You can also send me an e-mail here and tell me when you'll be online and I can meet you in world with some startup gold and help you get going.  I have 5 characters on Iveria, so I might be in world, even if Expatriate isn't.

Watch the latest episode of "The Guild" and other Pwnage videos from around the net--also post your own: http://PwnerTV.com

If you're REALLY into PvP I'd say DAOC, otherwise get WOW, nothing compares to it, trust me I've tried almost every mmorpg out, WOW blows them all away.

World of Warcraft is the beginner's guide to MMOs so go with that, pretty stable game and fun 1-59, don't expect to get attached to your character, endgame content is not great for that which is why people have a billion alts ::::31::. Wouldn't suggest GW because you say you really don't care much for PvP, you could give EQ2 a shot.
