Originally posted by airwolf1 Thanks, but I'll decide what I think and what I like. And I will be playing gw2 for a very long time. It takes me 2 hrs to know if i like a game or not, though I always stupidly insist to give it longer than that. And I don't like this game... I LOVE IT. |

Originally posted by stratasaurus Tanks deal a lot of damage. Knights were the big damage dealer. Tanking damage is a crappy concept in real world because generally damage kills or incapacitate you. And healing just happens after the battle. Currently playing: GW2 |

Why not? Isn't that partly why GW2 is getting so much attention because it's actually different? I for one was tired of the retreads. Dear developers, In my humble and inexperienced opinion if I can get through all the content you spent the last 5+ years working on within 6 months you have not done your work justice. Please give me, and everyone else, some tools to create our own content from what you have made so I can stay in your world and appreciate it longer than three weeks before I say "meh". It's a shame and I'd rather not do that to something you put so much of yourself in to. |

I think I have figured something out. I know somewhere in these forums someone else also figured this out, but I have to at least make my opinion known. After EQ I and WoW vanilla came out we have seen instant travel come around. You wander around the world and open these places that will allow you to instantly travel to that location that you have already visited. I think Devs made this to make the working class ( Like myself ) make it faster to get to where you last left off so that you might level faster without the hassel of running the whole way there. I think this makes the elitist gamers bored faster than if they had the option to actually run to the last destination they found, making the game take longer to level. Like in EQ1, you had to take a raft that took forever to get to its destination. Maybe Devs should give an option for long travel instead of the instant travel. I know that I made a lot of friends while wating on that raft than I have made from pressing a button to instantly travel somewhere!!! =) Just a thought for all the new MMO's that have came out recently. What are your thoughts?

How so? Your OP was just complaining that there was no trinity, which I personally like, but no specifics on how it's not hard. Mesmer can get hit and not die? Do you know if they had an ability up? Did you know what they were specced and geared for? building a character is not as simple as plugging points into a catagory.
Also, I think the idea of playing games to have fun somehow got lost during the epeen stroking. I have found challenging content and had fun with it and I'm level 24-25 that has only completed one full zone. Seriously, either enjoy it or leave it alone. It's hilarious. Originally posted by Geschaefer Actually it's a horrible point because it isn't realistic or historically accurate at all. Cavalry were the shock troops of ancient and medieval times. The "tanks" were entire units of heavy infantry with spears or pikes. What that guy stated and what you agreed with is the product of "RTS fighting" which isn't historically accurate in the slightest. "Holy Trinity" games are completely unrealistic - what you see in GW2 is an example of "wolfpack tactics" which is very much an actual and realistic many-on-one technique for taking down foes (or dinner). |

You do realize that you can go into higher level areas before thirty right... My friends and I are constantly underleveled for the areas we are in; it makes it more fun. Little forum boys with their polished cyber toys: whine whine, boo-hoo, talk talk. |

Originally posted by stratasaurus Lol. I had to laugh reading this. Someone obviously has seen to many movies or played too many games. This is one of the all time idiotic attempts at a justification I have ever read for the trinity.
There is nothing similar To the trinity in current or ancient warfare. |

It's different to what most people would be used to but not really easier so to speak.
This isn't a signature, you just think it is. |

Originally posted by NomadMorlock Awww come on thats not true at all. Everyone knows that in real battles you can send 1 guy in who stands there and yells at the enemy (aka taunting) and the entire enemy force just chases that 1 guy around and completely ignores all the people shooting at them. |

You should have research the game even though they boast about no CLASS restrictions in most of their press, and interviews.
