Yep, lvl 15 also.  I like the class i'm playing (elementalist) a lot BUT I don't feel the urge to log in every day.  My typical play is

1. Log in

1.5 dumped into overflow

2. queue WvW (if I even get back into my home zone)

3. warp to last quest zone (i always log in the city because of banking) - again, dumped into oveflow

4. look for hearts i haven't done. wander around.

4.5 side tracked into dynamic events (flash mobs of other no name people who randomly run towards the circle on the map)

5. Kill dynamic event.  flash mob scatters.

6. go back to empty heart. get bored. run out of bag space

7. back to bank. breakdown stuff. empty bags, sort bank.

8. log off.

the times I have gotten into WvW, it's been pretty mindless zergfest with some guy or 2 trying to yell directions.

overall, it hasn't been as great an experience as I was hoping since everything is just SO easy to do.  I also HATE downlvling.  Where is the sense of power.  Why even have lvls if everything is going to be scalled anyways?

anyways, just my 2 cents of my experience.

You sure run to the bank alot.  Only thing I have in my bank are transmutation stones and mystic coins and maybe a few other things that don't fit into the Collectables tab.  Do you know about the collectables tab and scavenging?  Those 2 things alone help you not have to go the bank so much.

Actually the OPs issue is the problem too many gamers have today....They play for who knows how many hours in beta, pay top dollar for the game at release, play until their eyes pop out at release, and then they are bored and the game either goes on teh shelf or gets deleted forever.

Oh never mind, you are a gamer that needs to be told what to do, how to do it before you do it yourself.

Maybe all the bored people can make us sandwiches while we play?

They will just come up with reasons on how they get bored with that too.  Then they will make more than one thread saying how they are bored with making sandwiches.  Meh, why bother?

Long Term MMORPG'er. 1999-2012.

I'm not finding myself logging in anymore. The game is extremely boring. Great graphics, good exploration but not worth playing long term. It feels like a single player and mmorpg's shouldn't be that way at all. It's a great game if you are casual player. I'll probably just uninstall it and take a long break.

What is "real"? How do you define "real"?

9/05/12 12:54:38 PM#265

Yes I'm also getting extremely bored... At work, watching live streams of sPvP wanting to try new builds, complete a zone or perhaps spend my time in WvWvW, still going strong here.

Level 54 with a level 11 alt and 3 more ready to go, I'd like to try more classes in sPvP also, have about 70 hours in I think and 54% map completion.

Remember... all I'm offering is the truth. Nothing more.

I think I need a break - maybe I'll load up Vanguard - had a max toon there years ago and a mid 30s shammy that was fun.

This cracks me up. I have a brother in law who bought the house next door to me. He has money saved up from his time in the military, so now, he sits in his basement and plays games all day. He will get a new game and play the EVER-LOVING shit outta it for a week or two straight  and then say he's bored.

The fact is... people that have THAT much time to play video games will usually never be happy. They are locust. I mean, I'll admit I'm on the really low end of play time due to job/family. I've been playing since the 25th and I have a character at 11, another at 8 and a few around 5. I'm still having an absolute blast.

You have a 75 and I'll wager a handful of other higher level characters..... of course you're bored. You've been playing what, 4.. 5 hours a day since release? You gotta pace yourself my friend. No developer could ever make a game to keep someone with your amount of playtime happy.

PvE is boring in GW2. Ok, not a problem, I prefer PvP. But PvP is a big piece of crap. 3 arenas where 3 fights against 2 or less. Sometimes is 5 vs 5, but is seldom. WvWvW means waiting for hours in queues....boring. Why not 10 against 10 in "Strutured PvP"? Or 15 or 40? Or maybe larger maps with better objectives than "change the color of ground"?

The beginning and middle isn't much different.

No I just started profession 2 of 8 and have #1(mesmer) at 78.  I'm at 50% towards Ultimate Dominator title for kills in WvW.

Of course I have taken a few days where I didn't play at all and just read a book instead of playing.

No game is good enough that you don't need to take some breaks.  The game will be there when you get back and when you do, run around an area looking for cool stuff for an hour and don't worry about anything else.  Go find the secret troll garden in Lion's arch or the hidden ghost pirates in Gendarren fields or whatever else.

bored to tears, yes.

Story is a joke. Cutscenes and voiceovers too.

Zerg buttonspam.

Quests are bland and stupid.

Wish I could put up the account  for sale for people who like that kind of gameplay. Checking the TOS first.

That is exactly what you need buddy. Try getting out more and less gaming. It will balance out everything, trust me!

Here's an advice.

1. Work five days a week 9-5 (full time job) - Normal

2. Go out and meet people often - Normal

3. Hang out with friends (non-gaming event) - Normal

4. Meet a girl and go out on dates (on regular basis) - Normal

5. Eat home cook food (non junk or microwave food) - Normal

6. Exercise and play sports every day - Normal

7. Play video games (on spare time 1 hr a day max or 2 hrs max on your weekends) - Normal

If you do this.. .I guarentee that you won't be so bored so quickly playing any video games :-)

Forget that. We can just come up with ways why the sandwich is wrong. Where's the salami? Other sandwich makers put salami. WTF? is this mayo? I hate mayo, worst sandwich ever created. And the downtime for you making that sandwich, far too long. Now go redo it to my taste or else you will wake the dragon.

I'm not bored yet. I just don't play a much as I have in other MMO's. I have about 48 hours played total and highest character is my level 22 Warrior.

I can see why it may become boring for people who play it non-stop. But played in smaller bursts, it doesn't give you that bored/grindy feeling.

I think GW2 will continue to grow. At the very least, a solid "2nd MMO" for the themepark crowd.

Nope and with a few hours a night I will be entertained for a long time.  I think GW2 is a game you can cap and "endgame" for a shorter shelf life or milk out over a year not caring about your level before or after 80.  Each persons playing time and style is their own and they will get as much enjoyment out of GW2 as they choose to.

Exactly right. The shocking thing is you were off by half. More like 10-11 hours a day since release. He posted his /age in another thread. Let me preface that a lot of people took vaction last week and given that labor day just passed they probably had a lot more time that usual. Playing that much isn't necessarily a problem (it most certianly can be though), complaining that you're bored afterword is completely disingenous though. Of course you bored, you packed nearly a months worth of play time into a week. You likely have very few people to play with (here is another hint... other poeple give this genre its legs).

You wanna know how WoW corrected this problem? They put lockout timers on thier raid instances to keep the over-consumers from playing it too much in one go. Let me put it another way. They hard coded play time caps. They forcablly didn't let you play all of thier content at once.

So really one solution to this "Problem" would have been to release 1-10 levels day one and every month up the cap by 10 levels to enforce play time caps on the overconsumers. GW2 would have 8 long months of spectacular monthly content drops.

I actually find GW1 to be more entertaining still. I logged in the other day and was shocked to find that the game was filled with people. In just two towns there were at least hundreds of players (each).

I've actually gone back to Skyrim. Guild Wars 2 just doesn't give you a sense of adventure and despite the dynamic event system the game is just a single player unless you're playing with RL friends. People never stop to talk or interact. Everyones a sheep following all the dynamic events with zero strategy.

Someone needs to make an MMO that forces players to team up and become friends or something. These MMOs are all stale single player online games.

B-b-b-b-b-bingo.

You know a game already was made with those features. If you died, only players with a certain skillset were able to heal your wounds.

You also had to go to a crowded area and *GASP* socialize to buff yourself.

Guess what game that was?

Nobody had to try to make arguments like that for how to enjoy WoW and other games, because there was content in other games both for casual players AND for hardcore players. You're trying to say that everyone getting bored should completely change their lifestyle and make it so they can only play an hour or so a day, and then they'd enjoy the game more? So GW2 is for casual gamers only then?

Sounds like pretty lame excuse-making for the fact that there's no end-game. If you divide your time amongst a bunch of different things of course its going to take you longer to do anything, that is in no way shape or form is a valid argument for the quality of this game itself. There has to be things to do because even the casual non-gamers are going to hit 80 eventually and face the same problem.

Personally the more I'm delving into the game the more I'm liking it, which I didn't think was possible.

I've really done very little since this game come out other than work, eat, play guild wars 2.   It's pretty ridiculous.  =P

I'd get bored of screwing Scarlett Johansson if that's all I did solidly for a week stopping only to eat, defecate and occasionally sleep.

I know this game is winner ( For me at least) because usually week 2 is when most sub par MMO's start to pose the question "Ugh why am i still playing this " . Granted I am only lvl 30 but I find myself still having the same enthusiasm to play tonight as i did 2 weeks ago. Really having a fun time paying this game, Have not had this much fun proably since Vanilla WOW. A-Net really made a fanastic game IMO.
