I actually find the classes in this game to be extremely boring. I can't find a single one I enjoy playing for a long period of time. That plus the one-handed weapon clipping issues with the gear is extremely annoying, so I feel limited on what I can play and actually enjoy. I'm still chugging along however and hopefully things will improve if I can get one to level 20+ without getting bored. |

I've played the game for right around 75 hours in ten of the eleven days it has been live through yesterday (with headstart). That's nearly an 8 hours per day average. That's not as much as a lot of people but still a lot. I've played almost as much time as I've put in at work in the same number of days. You know what I'm bored with? Work!!! How could I be bored with GW2 already? I'm still just getting into it really. I don't know how people decide they're bored so quickly.

Originally posted by caetftl Thing is, I don't really care if people are bored or not. That's a them problem not a me problem. Only thing I care about is how I feel about the game. Does the game offer value for what I paid for it? This whole thing where people feel they have to stir up drama about not liking the game is pointless. In every game I have left, the only one I have ever gone to forums about was AoC and that was just after launch when I felt so ripped off that I had to vent. Otherwise I just simply quietly stopped playing. Edit: I need to add this. The difference in this game is that if you quit playing here it makes very little impact on A-net. They got your box fee. You probably would have never spent any money in the cash shop anyway. Do you really think having 1/4 less players after launch is a problem for them? That just helps them stabilize thier servers. Point is.... THEY GOT PAID ... period. That's the advantage of a btp game over a sub game. They can afford to lose a few players after launch it just decreases their costs in bandwidth, support, etc. |

Originally posted by Wickedjelly Because some people are claiming over 120 hours played with only 11 days of the game being released including headstart. The people who are bored at level 20, hey that sucks, GW2 isn't for you. But the people saying... "i'm level 80, 120 hours played, and i'm starting to feel burnt out". I work 10 hours a day. 5 days a week. Let's say I worked the weekends too. Thats 110 hours of work. These people have played more than I could've possibly worked. they are clocking on average of over 10 hours A DAY. TEN HOURS A DAY ON AVERAGE. I'm not saying i'm against them, shit I wish I could. But seriously? Even 80-100 hours is still a ton of playing time. That's more than most peoples work week. I'm not trying to bag on them, but how is ANY game supposed to keep them intrigued with that kind of play time? I've got 50-70 hours played. I'd imagine atleast. I played 10-12 hours on sat/sun of headstart, none this last weekend, and probably 2-3 hours a night in between. To me that's a lot considering the game isn't even 2 weeks old. But these people have double my play time. Again, i'm not trying to be mean or say they need to get a life, or that they are playing wrong. I'm saying they play a shit load and no new game, or hell even most older games, can keep their interest after 2 weeks, because they're already done.
EDIT: Just look at this thread. Some of the numbers astound me as to play time already. The "Youtube Pro": Someone who watches video's on said subject, and obviously has a full understanding of what is being said about such subject. |

Originally posted by Gaia_Hunter If that is the intent of the GW game's then I don't think people can really complain to much if others get bored ( i'm not bored myself btw ) since for a lot of player's the character is the important part of a RPG . If you make maxing said character easy then the game becomes shallow to them , because it's the character progression they invest their time in .

The beautiful thing about this game is no matter whether you rush to 80 in a week and feel burnt out, or it just isn't catching your fancy right now, or you love it but you just don't have the time to play it right now: You can come back and pick up the game again at no extra cost anytime you feel like it. In a month, in 6 months, whenever. And guess what? It's alright to get burnt out on something. GW2 is not going to replace your standard gear grind raiding MMO, that's not what its purpose is. This game is meant to be played along side your normal MMO experience, not replace it entirely. Log into GW2 when you feel like it, melt some faces, run some DE's, maybe PvP a little and move one with your day. You shouldn't feel pressured to play the game like you do with a normal subscription MMO. I feel sorry for people who feel that way. I suspect a lot of people who are used to getting to max level so quickly are used to it because they want to know what hte endgame is like before the free month is up. That doesn't apply here. ---------- |

Originally posted by caetftl on average of 12 hours a day. That's ridiculous. Do they work? If so do they sleep? Do they eat? Do they shower? Do they have a southpark scenario? Not trying to be rude but holy shit. 16 hours a day is just beyond astounding. It's outrageous. Look at that thread, the THIRD reply is "levle 80 with 100 hours palyed". Another one, "level 60 with 120 hours, starting to feel burnt out". Yeah no shit thats a 12 hour day you put in DAILY. It's astounding, absolutely astounding. Originally posted by caetftl I wouldn't say they are being attacked. More like laughed at or questioned, but I havn't seen anyone do any personal attacks on somone who is "bored" with GW2. Personally, I wonder if these bored people know of other mmos that are not repettitive? Maybe this is their first mmo and are in for a shock with the genre? Either way, I thank them for having supported GW2. "If I offended you, you needed it" -Corey Taylor |

Originally posted by Wolvards I really don't think that matters. It simply isn't the game for them. I have a friend that plays Last Chaos. Has for years. The fucker plays it every day. You couldn't pay me to play that game. But it works for him and he loves it. He doesn't spend a dime yet he is always at or close to max level. Which is pretty impossible if you're a freebie unless you play 24/7. Anyways, my point is that if it is something you enjoy then for many it won't matter how much they play. The only thing I will say is there are some that are simply burned out on the genre in general so no game is going to end up working for them. Those folks need to just get away from mmos for at least a while. 1. For god's sake mmo gamers, enough with the analogies. Originally posted by Mannish Wonder how long it will take that people understand ITS NOT the game, it's you, your playstyle, you simply don't like the game that much, nothing wrong with that, the game doesn't offer the gameplay you like again nothing wrong with that. The game might be boring to YOU, again nothing wrong with that. But blaming a game where you know for a fact others are very well enjoying themselfs should tell you it's just you, and obviously others who think alike with you. But as you see the main issue in this case is actually you who are playing a game that doesn't seem to cater to your type of playstyle.

Pick your favorite TV series and then force yourself to watch it 10 hours a day for 10 days and see how you feel. GW2 isn't the problem regardless of your personal preference - extended, repeated, marathon gaming sessions is. |

ITT: A BUNCH of people who do not have a community to play with. I'm in a guild with 370 people and about 80-100 on at a time, we're exclusively members of a specific forum so we're all somewhat acquainted, it's called Guild Wars 2, maybe you guys are spending days of playtime all by your lonesomes lol. Yes, the game is a blast and it's extremely easy to group up with the guild so far, everything we've done is fun - crafting, WvW, sPvP tourneys, jump puzzles, activities, etc. |
