I'm not burned out at all, I think the game comes off as overwhelming for a lot of people and they get confused, and that ends up to being bored. I definitely don't want to hit max level too soon but I really enjoy doing all the DE's and the Renown Hearts.

Originally posted by Valentina I must say that getting further up the levels to be able to do the 70+ areas really made the game twice as interesting for me, the 70+ areas are really much much better than the lower level areas, the events make more sense, actually have interesting fail states, there is no more just stop the centaurs coming in, most events are linked to pretty much the whole area, the story on the events is much more complex and there is generally more attention to detail. They are also much more challenging! And I havent even entered Orr will do at some point, hopefully after they fix the DEs missing, people were complaining in Lion's Arch they couldnt 100% Orr cause of broken stuff so I will just wait and do the other zones. And no I am not bored.

I've played to level 40 and done about 35% of the maps and although I'm not bored and I am still enjoying the game, I can tell that once I reached 80 I will probably do some of the end game content before puting the game away and then going back to my usual habits of playing FPS and casually playing some other MMO. The problem I have with the game is that the first zone has been far too similar to the rest of the game experience. Find vistas, do hearts, do DE, jump quests then move along to the next area rinse and repeat with just personal stories to break the monotomy. You may point out that there is WvW, I'v tried it and it was just a zerg with little strategy beyond building turrets, siege equipment and getting upgrades or in the case of my server, just getting hammered by the French. As for small gang PvP, I can't really say since it's something I focus on when I've reached the endgame but I have high hopes for it. In regards to crafting, I can't see how that can be enjoyable. All you do is farm whatever it is you need which is tedious, and can be slow work with some prefessions. Then you go to a crafting station and either discover a recipe or create an item. It's just two or three clicks of a mouse button, there is no real gameplay here, no animation of your toon making anything just a menu. This isn't exactly groundbreaking, engaging or original gameplay and to suggest that it's one of the more fun aspects of the game is just plain stupid.

Also, a significant amount of people who thought they didnt like the game actually discovered they liked it later on when they found out that following the zerg is actually the opposite of what they should be doing. I am one of them. there was actually a thread made a week or so from a guy who apologized about his negative post history regarding the game and since he ended up loving it because he found out how to play it properly.

Originally posted by gessekai332 Not in PVP but are you denying you can actually complete most of the game just pressing 2 buttons? 3 if you count heal. If I go to an area that is not lvl 80, I can just get away with just using the first skill if my pet is on aggressive and will just assist me, you dont have to and you can optimize you rotation for efficiency or whatever, but its perfectly fine to just use your first skill and you will burn through the first 50 levels of content. Even in DEs since they are mostly zerg at the start you can just auto attack and kite if you have a ranged weapon. Its not even up for debate, sure you are not playing to the full potential or whatever, but if I want and I am feeling bored I can just literally use one skill and burn through most of the starter content. Ofc dont expect to be any good at anything else, its like I have to explain to my friends that started playing right now that dont understand that you need to actually play with all your skills and weapon swapping and actually play off the synergy of skills and weapons when they complained they never got gold on DEs. Edit: By starter I mean until around lvl 50 There is a reason the bots in this game are setup to just use the first skill over and over again in some place, because you can get away with doing events like that when there are more people, and as long as you can kite with a ranged weapon you can apply the same logic to killing one single mob for hearts or whatever. This is not true for higher level content where you actually need to look at the mobs and time your evades or you get one shotted and there are multiple phases and dmg reflects ( this is one of my favorite seeing everyone kill themselves with projectile reflection on bosses because they are just standing there auto attacking ).

The game is unravelling for me pretty quickly to the point where i'm ot even playing anymore some days.. I got on my computer a few hours ago with the intent to game and i've just been reading forums & listening to yourube videos for hours instead. This is only a week after getting the game and it no longer feels like its "must-play". my drive to play it has been significantly lowered after only a week and I dont even have a character over 40 year.. thats not a good sign. When the player base has to make up excuses for criticisms that blame people for rushing too fast and absolve the game of responsbility, that is not a good sign either. There either is and end-game or there isn't..and its looking like the latter, and thats also not a good sign. |

Originally posted by DMKano I can't stand gamers like you. So sick and tired of it. You people don't care about the game. Only instant gratification. All you want to do is power level through the game to get to the end, farm end game content until you get the coolest and best gear you can get. All that just to show it off and rub it in people's faces who you know will take a while before they can acheive that. And then when you're not farming, or even while you're farming, you sit there with your fancy shmansy gear that inflated your ego and troll the chat channels. Starting arguments by saying just enough not to get your account suspended, but just enough to get everybody arguing about something stupid like politics or religion. It doesn't take much to set 1 person off and start a chain reaction, just a few words in 1 comment. And after that you don't have to say anything else. Just sit back and laugh at what you started. I've seen it happen so many times and it's always the people with the best and coolest gear and stuff in the game that rushed to the end. And you people get a real kick out of it. Bored after getting to level 75 in about a week? That's your own damn fault! You wouldn't be bored if you actually spent time trying to achieve greater things like titles and collecting mini pets and doing all the low level stuff just so you can feel satisfaction for completing it, as well as making friends to help, or get help from, and do stuff with. But no......you just HAD to get leveled up so fast skipping almost everything along the way.
As for me........I have not purchased GW2 and I won't. I will no longer be buying or spending money on any NC Soft games anymore. I have my reasons. And I'm not even sure if I want to even play MMOs anymore because of this crap.
Edit: I can understand someone getting bored after 20 or 30 levels and they actually ARE doing as much content as they can. I can also understand after running a couple alts, or playing for a long time, you wanting to get a new alt up to max level quick so you can play end game content because doing all the conted over and over can get pretty boring after a while. But I don't understand people who simply want to bypass most of the content and then complain they have nothing to do and never even tried to experience what the game fully had to offer. Well, i can say i am not wondered that OP got bored, he rushed to 75 level and got feeling that game is the same old, as on lower level, i dont know. He is hardcore leveler. Its his mentallity, couldnt be blamed. What i find odd is that people that says they got to like... what? 15 level? and got bored. They arent bored, if you ask me, they just dont like the game, thats all. Either they havent done proper research about what is game before they purchased or just it is not their play style. Or maybe they are just PVP guys and didnt liked the PVP thing. But thats not called bored. There is a difference between "game just dont fit my playstyle" and "i got bored because i dont like the game (wait, what?)" I am 45 level at the moment and so far i got 3 areas explored to the 100% and 4th is about at 85%. So what did i done so far? Leveled only one crafting profession to 70, helped lower levels, done two dungeons in both modes, traded couple of stuff at Trading Post, participated in big Dance event in Divinitys Reach, made and organized a guild and countless of stuff more. And i hardly scratched the PvP and other stuff. MMORPG need to be used like wine. Slowly degustating and enjoying each drinked drop of it. It is just this new-MMO-player generation that want a game with infinite, or 20 of years worth content, which even Hollywood with all its budget, by all means cant afford. Yet GW2 just got released. Have patience, there will be plenty of new content in incoming months. You can still come back without paying a cent. Main MMO at the moment: Guild Wars 2 |

Not bored but the game also hasn't gripped me with that " Omg I must play " excitement fever .. maybe that's just me being older and wiser now and knowing games are not the be all and end all

Originally posted by DMKano Yep really bored, so bored that i subscribed to another "tradicional" MMO and im having a blast again. GW2 is good no doubt, but some aspects of it are really lacking, specially in PvE. Since the thing that intrests me the most in this game is WvW, and i always have trouble with queues to enter it, i've made the decision to put the game game aside for a while. |

The whole burnout argument is lame. If an mmo can burn you out and leave you completely bored after a week or two, and this is happening to many people, chances are there is something wrong with the game. MMOs are supposed to hold your attention for months if not years... GW2 just seems like mmo-lite, not much depth, but lots of glitter on what it does have.
Also to the guy who is trying to discredit people in bulk based on post counts... you are not the "correct" mmo player. The people that disagree with you are not "wrong" mmo players. Hardcore min/maxers, raiders, pvpers, are the ones that play the games as proficiently as possible, and learn about all the game systems and how they relate to each other. They are the ones that can push the game to its limits... If they run out of things to keep them interested in 1.5 weeks, it is the same thing casuals will get bored with a few months down the line. |

level 63 , 1 toon rank 10 in PvP level 250 weapon smith , great guild of players , did afew dungeons , WvW and I am not bored, not at all just having a blast! Seems to me that the people on this site are bored because they miss wow, the instata kills they get with their overpowered classes, at least in GW2 PvP it's skill based yes there are some OP classes, but I find the PvP rewarding and fun. Funny that some people like WoW considering how borring that game is, it's dreadful borring to the point that I fall asleep at my key board playing that game, some people just want the EZ Button in mmos, if they can't get it they leave or make comments like this, wanna spend 15 a month on a antique peice of crap? go for it , and now you guys are keeping your hopes high for Titan, well all the power to you , but don't hold your breath , its gonna be another fail mmorpg that will be F2P in less then a year , like so many of you posted about every other mmo in existance. There is NO perfect mmo only in your heads. I have been playing mmos for like 15-17 years I include muds into that fact and still no borred, my secret? Don't analyze everything about a game, play it for what it is, and if you have to rush through the game then you have no idea how to play mmos simple as that. |

Originally posted by Aeolron I dont play WoW anymore.
but I am burnt out, and I believe others are burnt out for the same reason Rift's Dynamic Events lost its appeal. Because people at somepoint soon after launch or in beta, realize that events are just gimmicks and it wares out.
WvW is fun when winning and zerging. Not body running back to the zerg on the other side of map.
nothing else really stand out. I started making the rest of my alts. just made a Thief a few mins ago, and jumped into WvW. logged out, from bordom. Game needs more stuff to do. the combat isnt that interesting. Espeically at lower levels.
the grind need to be reduced. levels arent needed. why not give option to skip levels for all content, so players can play the game the way they want to play and have fun where they see fun at? WvW does this, why not PvE?
