I guess this means you are now forced to get off that Dolyak's arse and finally do some PvP in that zone. Love this nerf, because it was ridiculous seeing a horde of players defending a Dolyak from nothing.

Interesting.
I'm just watching the GW2 events unfold while on the sidelines. Seems similar to SWTOR in the way that it's took forever for any sort of negative commenting to become prevalient. I wonder if it truly is a better game overall. |

They should re-balance it so you only get XP if the caravan gets attacked..
Didnt vote as there are not enough options.. |

My guess: separate rewards for escort and defend. Small reward for escorts that, while not worthwhile on its own, still is better than nothing, and better rewards for successfully defending against an attack.

I have no idea what this was but sounds like an exploit to me should ban everyone who used it repeatedly :)

What this means is that people were getting abnormally large rewards for escorting supply transports even if they encountered no danger. There were reports of bots afk farming these escorts as well.

Not that I have any personal knowledge of this... lol.

MMORPGs are no longer about the mass multi-user anymore *sadly* |

Stop whining MMOExposed. It was clear that those transports were bugged from the start. I've done a dozen of then (only when I was around) and NOTHING happened, except for once. I think these transports should be like the PvE ones where hordes of NPC's attack it. Only when that happens in Wv3 then the rewards is earned. So I'm okay with ANet's decision... So you got upset because they are fixing your exploit or what? Reward should always be paid according to risk. If you just walk with a caravan without any attack you should get some reward but not much. If on the other hand you get an epic battle and save the day you should get a good reward. How this can upset someone is a mystery to me. |

If a player is escorting supply, than that means they are no longer in the main zerg, which is attacking building, and gaining fast, large sums of exp from them.
its a fair trade off as it was. Because players that take the time to escort supply dont miss out on the exp rewards and karma.
from the change, a player that defends supply trasnports gets no exp, which extents the leveling speed to a snail pace in WvW. Playing hours in WvW and getting not a bar of exp as a low level is not interesting.

Originally posted by MMOExposed And there's a rpoblem in your logic. You want players to be rewarded for doing absolutely nothing. Well I think not and ArenaNet also seems to think not, right is why they've removed it from the game whilst they figure out how to re-balance the rewards it. Someone earlier posted a decent fix to this; give players miniscule rewards for escorting a Dolyak and increased rewards for actually defending it. |

Oooh, this is what "follow the dolyak" means. Or meant, apparently. Yeah sorry but WvW spots are limited enough without having people there specifically to do nothing. What a pathetic post.
"Playing hours in WvW and getting not a bar of exp as a low level is not interesting."
So bear with me here, this really might BLOW YOUR MIND! Imagine if now, because of not dolyaking, there are an extra 100 people per freaking side, who are, you know, actually fighting, PVP style, in the PVP zone. Getting EXP, for the PVP, instead of not PVPing, in this here PVP zone. Yeah. I know, fucking madness, right? |

how can people even tolerate doing such a boring exploit??? is it fun for you to follow a cow all day long and not fight??

Yak herders... oy. I have no problem with this nerf. WvW was not created to escort pack animals. This one goes right up near the top of my "Complaints no one cares about" list next to "The download is too big, wahh".
no GW2 won't kill WoW, but it's time to move on and quit worrying about those people still playing it. - eyelolled |

they have an achievment for protecting supply and i beleive its 500 times to max it out can you imagine trying to complete this and only get 5 achievment points for it.

Maybe now they will put some decent xp into wvwvw because right now xp gains are pathetic, warhammer had lot of problems but at least you could get good xp from rvr ,good enough to lv without doing anything else. Also how about some other resurrection points, after all it should be about pvp not spending time running around (which is even worse when the enemy outnumbers your side and you die a lot )?
Yes.WvW should not be about escorting yaks but the running around on those huge maps without enough players to justify the size is as bad.So they should take out caps on wvw numbers or put more points to ress or put some damn mounts into the game. |

You can build waypoints. I don't think you received anything for escorting the dolyak in the betas. I did it once in BWE1 (didn't know what to do) and got nothing. So it's back to the way it was and that's a good thing. |
