Still hold my sub for TSW and will continue to do so . Even if only play a few hours a weekly , £3 per week is cheap for any entertainment Few games on the horizon .. WarZ (B2P), PS2 , WoD all might get a look in .. Also Lotro Expack due in Oct I'm not denying Gw2 isn't a good game but I think it's come at a time when the player base is very fickle and a lot of people will stop playing it for great lengths of time due to new games being released

Those who voted No never belonged in the MMORPG space to begin with, so perhaps we'll soon see their exodus, leaving the genre to the rest of us. Currently paying for 3 subs in MMO's that offer features that GW2 is sorely lacking in.

It all depends on the service. A better question would be: Is Arena-net's service better than a subscription based game? You have to compare the updates, support team, etc. of both models. |

Originally posted by Kyleran The problem is that space you talk about peaked with everquest. Than you have the WoW space, that overlap somewhat with the previous space. Hopefully GW2 will/is open/opening the MMORPG genre to the gamers market. Currently playing: GW2 |

In my honest opinion only WOW, That is if you are not burned out on the game like I am after playing for several + years. When you look at games like Tera and TSW its almost laughable they are charging a monthly fee when compared to the quality of GW2.

Since it's F2P it's not going to change which MMOs I am subbed to. WoW and Rift. I still have founder pricing in Rift and don't ever see me quiting anytime soon. It has a good roleplay community. WoW I'll probably never quit either, Blizzard will have to kick me out or shut down the servers lol.
Both subs only cost me about $17 a month. 2 games for the price of one almost. It pays to buy a year at a time, and have founder pricing :) "Well, there was a time when I was quick to judge others based on what little I'd heard. paid for a lifetime to TSW and regardless of what other peeps say its worth every penny...the story in TSW is better than GW2,the gfx are better..dont get me wrong ,i think gw2 is a great game..just not has good as TSW.thats my opinion anyways..i guess you could say i paid a 14 month sub fee.but got life instead.one more thing i'll say is that the music, enviroment, everything about TSW is done really well..it is lacking content, but that will be remedied over time.

Originally posted by Psychow Fun is subjective of course, and non -zerg, who ever said that was desireable? But no, I'm looking for MMO's which are more about long term territory control and resource denial, and have near endless character progression (in terms of power). GW2 had nothing like that really, which is fine, but not for me.

I have a Rift sub which I will keep, then I'll probably resub to WoW for a couple of months for Pandas. Of course, that doesn't count the non-MMO games I'll buy (AC3, Torchlight, etc.) Any sub game is a good value compared to a non-MMO. |

Originally posted by Rohn I rather just "Buy it, play it, and forget it". No wondering if I forget to unsubscribe because I haven't play it in a while. No fuss no muss just like the games of old. Get back to it when I want to and don't have give out ANY credit card info. |

To me another valid question is : Even without a sub, is GW2 worth the box price ? And my answer still is : NO, not even close. |

Originally posted by Yaoiman Problem is WoW is nearly the only one, and it certainly doesnt cost them anywhere near the billions of dollars theyre making each year to come up with those content patches. Aside from a few games like WoW and EVE, a sub is a guarantee of nothing. The majority of games only release new content in the form of expansions, and there is a low number of games that offer even that much. Much of the market out there hasnt even had a decent patch that did anything besides fix a few bugs in a long time. Just look at WAR. The only content addition has been LoTD which was added IIRC nearly 3 years ago (not very long after launch). Since then theyve actually removed content from the game, or either admitted they stopped working on X feature but "We promise new (insert feature) improvements and drastic changes are coming" only to never be seen. Unfortunately thats kind of the norm with most devs. |

Subs were a ripoff before GW2 and they still are now.
