I'm only playing the role chosen for me. Who you supposed to be? |

A very fair review. I feel people are nitpicking for what happens in every single MMO launch. Yes. Stuff doesn't work. But its like because stuff doesnt work in GW2 its a huge negative, where in the past if stuff doesn't work it was just part of launching a (complex) MMO. The innovation was the evolution. Lack of quest hubs. No walls of text. engaging combat (no more standing there rotating hotbars). Return back to exploration. I agree that while others have done this in the past, ArenaNET perfected it. Speaks to the quality of the game where the only negatives are things that normally happen in an MMO. Objectively, GW2 is fun. Its not for everybody but then again you dont have to pay monthly to pay for it. What interests me is what GW2 *may* do in the future when it matures. TONS of options to make it even better than what it is today. Other developers need to take heed or risk releasing an atiquated product. |

I have not done the fire elemental DE, but I did the Giant DE in Diasse(I may be completely off) Plateau outside of Black Citadel and let me tell you we got beat on untill we started putting messages out in map chat by the end I bet we had 20 people pounding on this big lug. The interaction of reviving and damaging was truly amazing. I thought I would miss the dedicated healer role but I surely do not with the in combat revives it makes the entire event even more dynamic and fun.
Yes I am a fanboi, and I became one this week, I finally feel like I am playing an MMO I will stick with and nothing else really matters as far as gaming. Keep up the good work. |

I keep trying to like it, but when I fall asleep while playing, that's not a good sign. And I've noticed the DE's in the newbie zones starting to get 'under popped', with too few people to do them and win. And people seem to 'love' the DE's... Rift had them. Heck, the PQ's in WAR were the same thing. Perhaps some of these DE's 'move' (escort quests), and some don't (defend X or kill X quests). So while the 'quest hubs' might be lessened in GW2, the same ol' same ol' quests are still there. I don't get emotionally invested in defending a NPC that I just met, and the story behind them is about as emotionally enthralling as directions on a Ramen noodle cup. And my friends who are in LOVE with the game will hit level cap soon. Really? A week or two to hit cap?

Based on the screenshots so far Bill has gotten to 18 or so? That's very slow for a game so easy to level in.

Good review outlining many points I've seen since beta. I too could care less about leveling as the joy of wondering the world absolutely engrossed me. In my many adventure in online worlds has ther so much to while looking for crafting mats. Looking for copper last night lead me to 3 events and 2 heart quests. For someone to call GW2 a clickfest or say the game does not innovate indicates they have barely played the game or not played at all
There are problems but they will get fixed. There are areas of improvement but those will be addressed. How do I know? Well any company that crafts such a wonderful world would never leave thing broken or undone. |

I got GW2 a few days ago along with my guildies that defected from SWTOR to *cough*SWG while some are split up elsewhere playing World of Tanks and whatnot, I personally think GW2 is holding up to its hype- the pvp aspect is what I've been missing for years, the pve is a bit generic but still fun and events gets everyone together and brings back a bit of nostalgia of oldschool MMO games. |

At all the people saying Dynamic events aren't dynamic. You have a problem with terms. Rift's PQ aren't dynamic, they are random. Dynamic means the world responds to actions.

I agree with all the review and I would like to add another launch flaw that hopefully Anet is fixing, the party system and the overflow servers, first week it was a mess to party with my friends and do something together... but anyway as the reviewer said I can't stop looking at the environment and just goo "wooooooW" this game should be called "detail wars" lol it's just incredible... I can't even start comparing Divinity's Reach with Stormwind it's like SW it's just a far outpost xD Trading post is starting to work now so hopefully we can all start making some money! :D |

I hadn't seen it mentioned yet, but the last time I checked the Jade Quarry server had one of the largest quantities of dedicated WvW guild populations according to http://www.gw2guilds.org/ . So it is no surprise that you had large wait queue.

His points, however "love letter" like it may seem for the positive stuff, is just as important as the "well, this feature is broken, etc." criticism too. |
