Originally posted by Thillian No point in this argument. because you just described exactly what an overflow is. Its a server multiplying itself when it reaches a cap. The only reason GW2 has servers at is for WvWvW otherwise it would all be overflow instances to have the most possible people. I hate MMOs but as a web engineer i marvel at this game im sorry if you dont like it for your personal reasons but you can't deny it for what it is.
Edit: Correction i hate allmost all MMORPG's not all MMO's |

Originally posted by benit59 I dont get this if i played a game for 43 consecutive hours without stopping and wasnt atleast a very high level i would quit the game. GW2 isnt about leveling anyways its about content and exploration he didnt explore and complete the entire map in 40 hours. And if he goes back to do that stuff hell be deleveled to its level so i dont see a problem here. |

I think GW2 takes all the best parts of MMO's and streamlines them. It's not the most innovative game ever but it is incredibly polished and fun.

Originally posted by Thillian Why dont you define for us what innovation means since we seem to have no idea by your standards. I would be interested in your response. If you change the core mechanics (which is what you are really mentioning above) you no longer have an RPG which this is inside and out. The innovation is in the EXECUTION of those mechanics which changes dated aspects not worth mentioning here since you dont see them as innovative. Back to topic... Game is amazing and is a joy to play. You can feel the love and commitment that ANet put into this product, and I for one appreciate it. Ill be in Tyria for awhile and like the other commenter I can still try out FF XIV and not worry about double subs. |

I totally do not think it was worth the wait. Then again I might be one of the few people on this site that did not drink the Kool-Aid. In my eyes this game has not brought anything new and revolutionary to the table, it just dressed what we already know in some fancy duds.
That's fine, I still play, just call it what it is... That Guild Wars 2 login screen knocked up my wife. Must be the second coming! |

The most disappointing game I played in a long while. I tried to come up with good features to tell my gamers friends about and really couldn't come up with much - Resource nodes can't be ninja looted is frankly awesome (yeah, thats the best I could come up with) - Events are cool but get old fast And that's about it. From there it starts going down hill fast - Combat is slow, tedious, and dreadfully boring - Crafting even at the first level seems to be a grind fest - No bank space and bajillion different craft items - Graphics are meh - Story line is meh - I'm kind of split on the area quest thing. It basic ends up being kill/gather/click 10 x with no story but even there was a story we wouldn't read it any how. So I guess it cuts to the chase. And then hits rock bottom - It quickly starts to feel like an eastern grinder F2P - Then you quickly realize it is a F2P that you paid $79.99 for - Find a chest. Oh you need a special key for that. Swipe your card please. - Oh, you only have 10 spaces in your bank. Swipe your card please. - Those free gifts you got. Oh yeah, they only last a few days. Swipe your card please. - Oh, tired of the grindfest we call crafting. Swipe your card please. - Tired of grinding mobs. Swipe your card please. - Want better drops. Swipe your card please. What a waste of time and money....

I am glad for all the folks putting down how horrible they think the game is; this way, they will leave soon and let the rest of us really enjoy a really cool game. A "win-win" if there ever was one.

Mason I agree with you The trolls that are always in discussions like this, are flatout jealous of games like GW2 that receive so much hype and praise. They become angry because of something bringing everyone else happiness. The people in this discussion that are bashing the game have nothing else to do with their lives. Let them get their two words in, don't fuel the flame and egg them on, and let them continue with their trolling lives.

Evolution in MMO gaming? Please... this game is nice but it is a ThemePark at its core and these dynamic events/quests are not that different from Rifts which quickly became stale once people realised that the outcome doesn't really matter, they just lead to temporary superficial changes. Other than that the game is a solid but standard ThemePark. Class based, TAB target based combat, crafting is nothing new. No, this is not an evolution in any shape or form. |

yup - everyone has an opinion - cool but for me this is the first game in a good long while where instead of logging in and thinking - ok, have to get this done and do that and the other thing - i'm more like rubbing my hands together in glee and thinking i get to do this and that and maybe some of this and who knows what else may pop up - pretty darn fun i'd say
and shhhh - even did some PVP last night and enjoyed it - something i just don't do |

Do you actually think the staff members of mmorpg are going to give GW2 a bad review ? For as long as I can remember I don't think I have ever seen a bad review for a mmo on this site unless it was really that obvious it was bad.

Originally posted by Mephster Not true. They give plenty of bad reviews to the small F2P games that nobody cares about. That way when the big games from the big companies are reviewed and they give them great reviews, they can look back at those F2P games as proof that they aren't biased. That way they can continue to not bite the hand that feeds them, but still claim objectivity. It's quite comical. |

Originally posted by krinaman I didn't insult you. And as far as opinions go, they're best kept in one's skull as long as they can't be based on anything other than personal preference. What you did was badmouthing in the worst possible way just because you don't seem to like to play a game to play the game. (Note here: I am stating my OPINION of you BASED on what I've read. That's how quickly people get opinions on sites like this and as you can see: it's not always pleasant.)

Originally posted by BethelsBoy Oh gee so you have to play the troll card for anyone that criticizes a game you like. Well sorry to set you straight, but the intention of a forum is to get others opinions, not label then with onerous labels. Just for your edification, a person who trolls offers nothing of import to the discussion, just attempts to stir the pot. I don't see anything in your comment that offers anything of import to this discussion. As to the game, if you are just looking for fun and something to occupy your time, this is a great game to do it with. If you are looking for something innovative and offering something different it probably is not. It is another theme park with better than average pvp. I am still looking for a game that at least offers as good a pvp experience as DAoC did. This game is not even close to that. |

I knew it would be a very good game, but its even more then that, its supurb. Big big thanks to them and i hope they get the support they needed from all mmo community's so they can keep making games like this.
