To each its own.

Graphics style is a matter of taste, so is gameplay.

Unfortunately, the "perfect game" doesn't exist, so the only reasonable solution is to try games yourself, list the strong points and weak points each game has, and pick the one featuring the strong points that are more important to you.

These 2 games are like apples and oranges, really - I think it's almost impossible for someone to sort of like both: you can just love one, they cater to different audience with different interests/priorities when it comes down to gaming. Not saying one is better over the other per se.

For the record, I have several thousands of hours logged on GW1, forced myself through over 20 hours of gw2 and I just couldn't "feel it". Tera I "felt it" from the first 10 minutes, even in the lag of KR server, way before western beta.

With my guildies we all tried gw2, 1 dropped tera for it - so as you can see, a "tera player" can even "switch side" - it's really all matter of taste and priorities: those of us who didn't like gw2 wouldn't play it not even if someone paid us to do so, and the same can be told about most gw2 players about tera anyways.

Wish people focused more on having fun doing whatever they like, instead of raging at each other for liking "the other game".

 I have watched a few videos and done a bit of research and yes I will prob end up buying it at some point. Also was wondering how good a computer you need to see it in all it's glory as mine is not the greatest but man TERA looks sweet even at low end settings. I'm on a damn E-Machine low end dual core AMD with a Nvidia 460 GT card. Only getting like 30 FPS in tera with current settings but looks and plays great! How will it run GW2 has yet to be seen.

it should run on 20-30 fps,graphic cars isnt much important in gw 2,since u have core 2 duo that will likely bring u 30-20 fps on higest settings and maybe 40 at mid/low

I hate to say it, but that's jealousy. Jealousy that TERA will never be half the game GW2 in its starting areas is. I should know, I used to cheer for TERA to pull through but it was nothing more than wishful thinking. GW2's sense of living, breathing world completely blows TERA's "world" out of the water. 

In GW2 there are so many nooks and crannies to every zone/city/outpost.

Technically, TERA is superior. Art direction wise I'd say GW2 has the leg up on this. Because of how atmospheric many places are. Technically GW2 is no slouch either. This guy (http://youtu.be/UbWn6740JOg) goes in depth about the different features of the engine which, if you're not paying attention, could miss or take for granted.

Play TERA until you feel fed up. THEN try out another game. Since you're having so much issue with playing a second MMO on the side. Or wait for trials to become available.

Jealous? No. People just enjoy the combat that much compared to GW2. People enjoy different things in games.

People aren't jealous of anything. Everyone has their own tastes and will like what they like. If people enjoy GW2, that's great, enjoy the game. Same goes for TERA or any other MMO.

Also saying that "TERA will never be half the game GW2 is..." is pure and unfettered nonsense. That's 100% subjective. You're trying to apply a blanket generalization to others that's based entirely on your own personal views and preferences.

News Flash: Not everyone looks for the same thing in games as you. Your preferences are not superior to theirs. No one is "jealous" of anything. If they think GW2 looks better, they can get the money together and go buy it. No jealousy required.

Good grief some of the hyperbole and absolute claims being made about this game are obnoxious. Some people's "Fanboy Dials" are cranked up to 12 around here.

Agreed. I happens to like GW2 but I have been playing many of the smaller alternatives in the past.

TERA do have some relly well made part and I think it actually is pretty good but I enjoy GW2. That does not mean everyone should think the same.

Playing computer games is about having fun, not what others think about the games you like. It is fine to explain why you think something about a certain game and maybe get your friends to try it  but being jealous about that another game sells better?

I played EQ2 for 5 years, never felt jealous about Wow who released a month later and sold many times the numbers. Why would I? I am not jealous over the fact that Lady GaGa sold more than Rob Zombie or that USA is a larger country than Sweden either.

Stop caring so much about what others think and try to enjoy life instead. Soon we will all be dead and noone will care.

That right there is my answer. Hardcore Tera guy. Anti GW2 guy. Living in the world of Tyria and loving every second of it. I loved the combat in Tera. It is the bestest. Everything else in GW2 just happens to be way better.

GW2's combat is mediocre compared to tera. But everything else is better in GW2.

However. Combat is something you do 80-90% of time. So you have to make a call. I played Tera for a month and got bored with it. With Guild Wars 2 even though I don't find it so wonderful, just okay, I can tell it'll last longer than Tera. Theres a lot more to explore in GW2. It's huge just like GW1 (I've been playing GW1 since it came it and havent even doing half of everything) so Anet is good for having a lot of content and adding it.

Yeah, TERA is about a stale as a standard themepark.

I'm not sure why, though, a zerg of people spamming abilities and causing a scripted NPC reaction is a "living, breathing world". Perhaps you should play something that has a real world, one where the players are in charge?

Actually it is true..their terrain textures were pretty low..and it was rather disappointing. But what else do you expect for an  asian style game?

Wait wait wait...you mean centaurs running to a trading post from their camp and knocking down wals and setting fire to crops and buildings isnt living and breathing?

Vast underwater environments with a large variety of aquatic life swimming freely isnt living and breathing?

Npc's with schedueled lives isnt living and breathing?

Actual voiced conversations from random npc's in towns(they literally voiced every conversation that can possibly happen between npcs) isnt living and breathing?
