hey, you coulda just ignored it and smiled ;) I was just speaking from personal experience from games I have played. I could have easily talked about the nasty assed Aion community or whatever as well. These were just two games that I have tried this year so they got used. No otyher agenda. As for your 'irony'.. well, this thread is talking about how the /map chat isn't arrogant at all (which seems to be a very common consenus), so I am not getting your 'big irony' really :/ If me saying these things offended, then I apologise, but remember... No one can offend you, you can only choose to be offended. |

All very true. Something seems to have clicked though. I am really interested to see what tommorow brings. |

Originally posted by Vesavius Some of us didnt get in, Far Shiverpeaks were full faster than a bullet... Right now 2/3s of our guild are on other servers. :( On the other hand will we have that fixed eventually since there is a free home server transfer. So far do the community seems nice though but we will see tomorrow when "normal" people will start to play unlike people who paid for the game in april. So far so good at least (except a few guys insisting to only speak german). |

So far I haven't had any real contact with the community. Maybe it's because my character is just level 10. Running around, questing, gathering, sometimes asking something, seeing other players run around nearby.
I think the best community I saw in a game so far is the one of Fallen Earth. And the worst was the one in Heroes of Newerth, during the beta test. Let's play Fallen Earth (blind, 265 episodes) Let's play Guild Wars 2 (blind, 45 episodes) |

One of two things are going on here: Either every Dbag miraculously decided to not play GW2 while all the nice people did, or the game's cooperative design actually fascilitates the niceness, bringing out the best in players. Hmmm, I wonder which it could be. Either way, it's sooooooo refreshing to see so many players helping each other out. I've already met so many strangers and had great conversations with them. I forgot that was even possible in MMOs. |

This kind of sheds light on why the community is so rage free: they have pretty damn aggressive and active ban policy.

Can only be a good thing IMO. I am sure plenty of 'innocent' people (because isn't everyone innocent when they are telling their side?) will whine about it, but it is obviously paying off.
