So when you just get the game and you're addicted to it. I wonder how many people will still be playing 6 months from now. I admit the game is fun and I am addicted. I cannot wait to get home from school tomorrow to play.

Firstly I'd like to see the game fully working first. Then we'll have a real honeymoon stage. At the moment it seems like stamping out launch bugs is teh biggest priority. We also have to see what kind of content they will be introducing into the game and if that content grabs people's attention / was a much asked for feature.
Play for fun. Play to win. Play for perfection. Play with friends. Play in another world. Why do you play? |

Yeah it's definetly an awesome game. Just think, if were to run threw the entire game in a week you got your moneys worth. How many people have bought console games for the same price and completed it in a couple days? I know I sure have. Same price as a console game and 100x ++++ the content and then some. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AnehIt7ZjOc |

Imo a persons opinion on GW2 means very little until people start to get to the endgame which is where every new MMO fails.

I don't know, between the beta weekends and stress tests, I already have a ton of hours played. Still love the game, and there's no way I will go back to another MMO due to NO MONTHLY FEE. If I want to take a break, I'll just stick to console games until I get in the mood to play GW2 again.

As an example.. SWTOR honeymoon phase ended for me days before actual release. GW2 I've got probably near 200 hours now and I'm still as giddy as I was the day I got into the first beta weekend. I keep trying to take a break but I just get sucked back in. Hell, even when I'm not in game, I'm on forums and fansites like I am right now! I am consumed by GW2!

The question is whether people will come back for expansions, not whether they will take a break due to the pricing model.

The game is really fun, more fun than other new RPG's and definitely more so than swtor was. I'll lose interest eventually because I do with every game but for now I know I won't regret the purchase. And since I own it I don't have to resub if I get bored for a while and want to come back . So seriously, I've paid $60 for lots of games that weren't as fun and won't last nearly as long as GW2 is going to. |

GW2, like GW1, is a completionist's dream, a lot of people will be playing for 6 months or more.
no GW2 won't kill WoW, but it's time to move on and quit worrying about those people still playing it. - eyelolled |

At least one thing is certain, we will not be sitting here in a few months arguing about how many people still subscribe to the game.. That's one argument that they removed.. |

I'm starting to have some minor issues. Mainly revolving around the fact that I keep ending up being too low for the next area to go to. Which means I need to go back and find/grind more DEs. (WvWvW wasn't quite what I was hoping but I'll give it plenty of time). Getting to 80 on lots of characters may not be doable for me.
Crafting will take me a while and hopefully I really enjoy WvWvW. I'm not interested in Arena and I'm not sure what the dungeons are like.
The fact that it's F2P means I won't really care if it doesn't last me as long as other MMOs I've played. I kind of want to check out D3 again once they fix a few more things. |

Originally posted by FrodoFragins Kinda how I felt, the WvWvW so far was a let down and it was what I was looking forward to the most. I'm not big on the pve aspect of the game, kinda feels like rift but rougher and kinda poorly done from all the hype gone into it. (personal opinion don't hurt me) I gave it a show during headstart but i'm already done with it. :( Can always try later though.. |
