I can create a character, but not finish the creation with Name, when I try to finish it says Login server not connected or something...

Same here, first time I got until character selection, made my charcater, selected name and a treacherous error occured, blaming firewall or whatever.

 

No such thing during beta or stress tests | : (

Servers were up for a while, I got into the game, then they freeze and refuse to allow log-in. :)

i got the same error, i went to avast and unblocked gw2 and that fixed that problem for me

Looks like the servers crashed in less than ten minutes. I was able to log in and created two characters, but then got the log-in server error.

I never got past anything, once I load the client it just says connection error, retrying. Im so upset right now =(

i was lucky then

 

created 4 charcters ( though most of the names on my mind were gone )  and on the 5th the reached the naming area and the servers crushed

I was in at server up, from the first second. I went speed creation and all the names I had wanted (single word type names) were taken. - Then the server crashed LOL

They started 3 hours earlier to patch more things it seems.

I was able to enter the character creation, created my character fully, typed the name and when I finished it went back to the character selection showing that I had 5 free slots which means it didn't saved my character at all. :(

Then I restarted the client and noticed that it patched a few files again.

Won't let me enter yet though bringing up the "firewall/network issue" with the login server which actually shouldn't be there since the game is not blocked in my case.

I guess its because the servers are going up and down as they patch and will be fully available at the time the launch counter were supposed to hit zero. ^_^

I got 9 characters made before the CRASH.

Login servers being hammered now and i get the firewall message.

Unless they can fix it .. i would imagine a long 2.5-3 hours at least before they start to clear up a bit

You guys keep mentioning getting patches, my problem is im not even allowed to download any new patches. I dont even have a firewall on atm

For those stuck at step 10 of char creation, don't quit, just keep trying and it eventually gets you in.

Anyone know why this firewall error pops up?

I had it few times in BWs and stress tests but not all the time, usally i just try to reconnect and I'm in.
