I must watch too much sci-fi. I was under the impression that higher-ranked female officers were refered to as "Sir" in any military. Of course, I watch a lot of Star Trek and Battlestar Galactica, and I have never served in the military, so don't take my word for it! It sounds like it might depend on where you are, and who you serve under.
Anyway, this is the most action SWTOR has gotten since release! Keep the discussion going! ...lest ye seek the depths of darkest madness. |

In the countries I know of, gender plays a role in calling an officer sir/ma'am. In the some fictional worlds, the term "sir" is used as a unisex title. However, this thread already looks like a baiting/trolling thread, so not sure why others are trying to argue the OP.

Originally posted by Weretigar It isn't an insult, no matter how badly you want it to be. It is a sign of respect, Sir or Ma'am either one go. I'm a her not a him :P On the stuff to do with NCOs and COs. Very common joke to say NCOs earned their rank and work for a living and yes that is meant to imply bad things about COs, lol. I freely admit to having more distrust for butter bars than any other rank, I would expect more competence out of Privates than them :P |

If you watch a game, it’s fun. If you play it, it’s recreation. If you work at it, it’s FF-XIV. |

OSUT = One stop unit training
it was in the past at least Basic + AIT all put together into one, so basically those who has MOS with OSUT had extra long basic since you were treated that way the whole time as opposed to the usual 8 week basic. |
