Not the game itself...but what is your favorite PLAYER modication for any game?

Nehrim for Oblivion, that one was awesome

Master of Mana for Civilization IV, which was based off Fall From Heaven...but made so much better

X-tended for X3: Terran Conflict...waiting for the 2.0 version to come out, but this one is AMAZING

Moonpath to Elswyer (this one is so epic) Adds a whole new landscape to the game. Desert, jungle, good voice acting, new animals...quests...epic mod. DLC worthy really.

And...I like Stainless Steel (with BGR IV, which makes the game VERY hard) and the LOTR mod for Medieval 2 Total War.

Dota without any doubt.

The content, playability, and stability added to the original Falcon 4.0 over a decade has been pretty amazing.

But if we see a stable and full featured version of Pre-CU Star Wars Galaxies being played again, I might have to change my vote.

Seriously though, there were so many unbelievable mods for Oblivion,Skryim, Fallout 3/vegas and for Mount & Blade...I wouldnt even know where to begin. I played Oblivion longer than most MMOs because of the modding community continually making great content for it....heck they are STILL making mods for the game and its been out for 7 years now.

I really hope mount & blade 2 is going to be as moddable as the first was...helped to fill that sandbox void in the MMO genre with an incredible single player game...well, was a single player game until that MMO mod came out :-o

For me, it would probably be:

Desert Combat  (Battlefield 1942)

DayZ (ARMA)

There are about 300 mods for Bethesda games that I could mention. Every game from Morrowind to Skyrim including Fallout 3 and Fallout NV had dozens of truly great player made mods for each of them. I couldn't possibly pick just one out of that many. The only one that isn't Bethesda related I would pick is DayZ. This was an experment that reached such greatness that it will soon be it's own game. It's truly amazing what Rocket has accomplished within the Arma 2 engine. I can't wait to see what he comes up with when he has the game engine to tinker around with as well.

in mmos with 60 spells, not being able to change the shape of my hotbars is a killer for me. so, bartender .. and not because of macros / ez clicking .. I never used any of that stuff. just needed my bars to read like my keyboard which I setup more like Taugrim sets up his keyboard. usually a 6x5 grid of buttons.
